I have teased this news most of the week, but it’s finally official: I’ve hired another writer to join Team TBL. Please put your hands together and welcome Sam Eifling to the site. He’s written for many media outlets, and you may have seen his thoughts on Grantland. He also writes a mean book review. He’ll be writing about the media, among other things. Sam has an internship at the New York Times in August, but will still be contributing to the The Big Lead. His first post will go up this weekend. If you’d like to email him: sameifling@gmail.com.

Didn’t write about the Sirius Channel because not sure how much TBL is a factor. Yes, there will be a lot of fantasy talk on Sirius, and i believe Big Lead Sports has its own channel.
It’s a pretty new deal and not all the particulars are hammered out yet.

Getting your own channel would be cool, but it sounds like (at least from the ads) that you will be contributing or sharing a lot of airtime with their in-house fantasy sports channel. Hope you wind up getting your own channel and they clarify that ad a little.

Janoff sucks. His posts read as if they were run through a meat grinder and spit out by a man wearing a suit with advertisement stickers all over it. It’s like watching a NASCAR race, but not as entertaining. There are students at tier three journalism schools, no, there are students applying to colleges that could write that drivel and call the PR representatives to coax a quote out of a company that puts their products in a positive light.
