Paul Kuharsky makes the point I meant to in correcting the Vince Young part in comment 1 (ha!). I think the Titans really wanted Collins around to give Locker a year as a backup (or half a year). Pretty sure Collins had a starting job in almost any scenario, and VY was gone.

Hint… if you pick someone who plays for the Vikings (eg Favre) and when he gets close, say “he is a world champion”, you really piss him off

Testaverde was much better than Kerry Collins. Kerry Collins teammates were much better than Testaverde’s teammates.
Plus, Vincent was color blind on the downs in which he threw interceptions.
