The Aftermath of Tommy John Surgery, by Joba Chamberlain

Joba Chamberlain had successful Tommy John surgery on Thursday. Chamberlain, who had a 1.05 WHIP through 28.2 innings this season, tweeted these pictures of his arm post-surgery in case you’ve always wondered where the doctors cut your favorite pitchers open to make them good again.
“I know I’m going to get better. It’s not life and death. I’m just happy that I can fix it and come back and be stronger for it and hopefully have a long career.”
Chamberlain now awaits a long healing and rehabilitation process. I just hope we can debate whether he should come back as a starter or relief pitcher!

it’s a really good thing the yankees had the joba rules in place to prevent this kind of thing from happening.
