Vancouver Riots 2011: Craziest Port-o-Potty Video You’ve Ever Seen, Flashbang Hits Man in the Groin & Pacifist Gets 1-Punched
You watch this, and questions will linger: Why was a man standing on top of a port-o-potty? What prompted this burly gentleman – in front of police! – to slam into the port-o-potty, knocking the man to the ground? There’s a large crowd witnessing this, yet there isn’t one audible gasp? (In the last video in this post, you’ll hear plenty of gasps.)
This gentleman is high on life because he not only slips on top of the burning car, but then he falls on the ground afterward. If this buffoon had the intelligence to acquire and hold down a job, I bet he called in late for work Thursday.
Hysterical. You’ll watch it over and over. The question: Was it a flashbang that hit him in the nuts?
This fight video has it all – a jackass jumping around like one of the Cobra Kais, some shaky, Blair Witch-camera activity, and the two men brawling to a backdrop of tear gas flying through the air. This could video could have easily been taken in the Gaza Strip in 2009.
This is terrible, and I hope the cops are able to identify the man who threw the punch and make an arrest. I can’t be certain, but the guy in the Canucks jersey looks like he’s been in a lot of videos, and in all of them, he appears to be the voice of reason, trying to prevent fights and/or looting. But late in this video, he gets one-punched. Looks like he got knocked out cold.

that kid in the last video was honestly asking for it. Like literally asking for it. The guy who hit him is a douche, obviously, but if you stand in an angry guy’s face and antagonize him long enough, and then ask him to hit you…he’s probably going to hit you, glass joe.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
Vancouverites in general are a classy bunch – compared to most cities, you hardly ever see/have to deal with the police (RCMP) because it is a safe/chill town – sucks that that this is causing so much notoriety. And this shouldn’t overshadow the fact that the B’S WON THE FUCKING STANLEY CUP
June 16th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
Homeboy got dropped in that last video.
/Stay Classy, Vancouver

With TBL’s known love of street fight videos this is like Christmas.
Flash Bang to the groin wins hands down. Fantastic.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:10 AM
fair point.
but can we talk about the PORT-O-POTTY VIDEO?
it’s so quick and so bizarre i just keep watching it wondering what could have possibly led to this.
feels like it should have happened at a horse racing infield.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:10 AM
That guy who fell off the port-o-pot looked dead when he landed.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
Well, you got what you wanted. A good riot after a championship. Is the actual sporting event and the team that won the title going to get any play?
You also missed a guy jumping on a burning car if we’re going to celebrate chaos.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
I can’t believe they lit Alex Mogilny’s Beamer on fire.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
That hipster in the last video got knocked the fuck out. Serves him right. What’s he doing getting into the face of a guy who’s a foot taller and 100 lbs heavier than him?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
i have looked at more vancouver riot videos this morning than i have watched hockey all season.
absolutely crazy videos.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
Dudes a regular Kevin Garnett, taking on someone 4 inches and 75 pounds lighter.
That said, skinny tough guy got to back off if he dont want dropped.

June 16th, 2011 at 10:12 AM
Is this port-o-potty video really that much better than any of the the Kentucky Derby ones?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:13 AM
Kudos to Rob Brown for navigating the streets for CTV last night.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
Anyone else noticed the really short guy in the old/ugly canucks uniform who’s been in like 10 different pictures on various websites? He’s always out in front of everybody pointing and angry finger at the police. Hilarious.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
Where is the video of the couple fucking in the street?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
but can we talk about the PORT-O-POTTY VIDEO?
the guy who comes down comes down off the top, no? Not from inside it?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
Pop.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
Why was a man standing on top of a port-o-potty?
Port a pottie walking is nothing new.
/Goes to a lot of music festivals.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:16 AM
that a pretty nice to car to be setting it ablaze.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:16 AM
Those people are going crazy like American Idol just ended.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:16 AM
Is this port-o-potty video really that much better than any of the the Kentucky Derby ones?
those are from the preakness, and they’re all mostly drunken/frat/everybody celebrating stupidity. This one looks more like one guy tries to topple a complete stranger off of a port a potty, so he’ll fall and hurt himself. And it worked. So yeah, this is better than a port a potty race.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
The guy in that last video is a real piece of shit, a head taller and probably 20lbs heavier.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
I know who you are talking about, but I found this hilarious. Figure roughly 20,000 jersey/sweater-wearing fans out yesterday. Should have said “not Alexander Mogilny” who appears to be everywhere else.
Still coming to terms with all level of participant in this: unruly, passersby, camera-toters, “peacemakers”, porto-potty slammers. Really hard to comprehend.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
did a fight between the two precede this?
or did he ram the toilet just to give his friends a laugh?
That is actually something i might have done when i was 22.
but if the guy broke his neck (doesn’t appear to be the case), it wouldn’t have been funny
June 16th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
that kid in the last video was honestly asking for it. Like literally asking for it. The guy who hit him is a douche, obviously, but if you stand in an angry guy’s face and antagonize him long enough, and then ask him to hit you…he’s probably going to hit you, glass joe.
And that black dude is totally going to be identified.
/not a whole lot of tall black dudes in Vancouver.

that a pretty nice to car to be setting it ablaze.
Damn. I’ll say. Idiots just ruined a fine piece of German craftsmanship.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:20 AM
This shit is fucking crazy.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
The guy in that last video is a real piece of shit, a head taller and probably 20lbs heavier.
Which is why chicken-legs guy shouldn’t be getting up in his face. The bigger dude pushed him away with ease TWICE. Take a hint. Don’t mess with the bull unless you want to get the horns son.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
I admit to laughing that James Mirtle reported the most common jersey seen in riot videos is Raffi Torres.
At least the people at Rogers Arena were smart enough to keep the Bruins fans inside and then have a police escort take them back to where they were staying.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:23 AM
I’m curious how different the outcome would have been if they’d won. You know the people that incited this planned on rioting before they even arrived.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:24 AM
Don’t mess with the bull unless you want to get the horns son.
There is a small degree of truth to that, but you can hear the bigger guys’ friends egging him on.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:24 AM
My god that was great.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:24 AM
I thought it was kind of a dull game, especially once it got to 2-0 and you figured the Canucks were cooked…weird series, it went seven but to the casual fan it really wasn’t all that gripping thanks to four blowouts
June 16th, 2011 at 10:24 AM
Outstanding.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:25 AM
I cant stop watching flashbang to the groin. Not only does he get hit in the nuts, but he looks down and get blinded by the bang and goes flying. And the dude looks like a complete douche which just makes it so enjoyable.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:26 AM
Which is why chicken-legs guy shouldn’t be getting up in his face. The bigger dude pushed him away with ease TWICE. Take a hint. Don’t mess with the bull unless you want to get the horns son.
I’d kinda like to see the several minutes of that video leading up to that 90 seconds. Because the angry, angry black guy was being antagonized a lot. I wonder how that little cream puff ended up in his face in the first place. Giant pissed off black guy or giant, easy to anger black guy wearing a backpack?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:26 AM
David Tyree, WTF?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:26 AM
I’m curious how different the outcome would have been if they’d won. You know the people that incited this planned on rioting before they even arrived.
I’m just fascinated by the ‘mob-mentality’ in general. Humans are simplistically fascinating. It’s like their brain just completely shuts down and all reason escapes them. It’s just crazy that a bunch of people would go out and destroy the town that they live/work/pay taxes in. I’ve seen rioting on State Street in Madison on Halloween, and it’s just scary.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:28 AM
By the way, I don’t know why you’re comparing Vancouver to Detroit. When the Wings lost to Pittsburgh in Detroit there weren’t riots.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:29 AM
There is a small degree of truth to that, but you can hear the bigger guys’ friends egging him on.
I am under the assumption that all the pussy looking guys with their hands in their pockets not making eye contact are the littler guy’s crew. They should have maybe told their boy to get to stepping.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:29 AM
spoke out against gay marriage Wednesday, claiming it is the first step towards “anarchy.”
I think he’s confusing gay marriage with losing game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:30 AM
Is the actual sporting event and the team that won the title going to get any play?
Amen
i have looked at more vancouver riot videos this morning than i have watched hockey all season.
This should not be a point of pride

*girls in linked picture are all not pretty

Hey morons standing around the parked BMW on fire – THERE IS FLAMABLE GAS IN THE GAS TANK!
June 16th, 2011 at 10:31 AM
What a night that was. Total sea of people at the main bar area of Pittsburgh, but from what I can remember, there wasn’t a lot of damage. Just a few burning couches and a flipped car here and there. I did wake up losing a shoe and shirt.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:32 AM

There is a small group of people in the background tending to a person.

Aren’t the majority of black kids (or at least a great number of them) raised by single mothers?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:36 AM
Now that’s great, the reply about how he needs to take that down because it’s evidence and someone Liking that should be put in a time capsule since it really does embody the era we live in
June 16th, 2011 at 10:36 AM
Although the riot itself is horrible and scary, it has been the gift that keeps on giving. I wouldn’t mind more videos throughout the day.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
I bet you were a complete dickface.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:38 AM
listen, im not against gay marriage at all…that said, i think it’s EXTREMELY low on the list of things we need to focus on as a country.
pardon me if i come off insensitive, but lobbyist reform, entitlements, govt spending, our middle east involvement and health care reform are all much more important issues.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:39 AM
wait… they lost, right? are they rioting to get the Grizzlies back?

June 16th, 2011 at 10:40 AM
I was at Michigan State in 99 for one of their “riots.” It was fun – bunch of drunk college kids standing around burning couches and walking around with drinks without worrying about being arrested for open intox. I saw too many pairs of boobs to count.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:41 AM
pardon me if i come off insensitive, but lobbyist reform, entitlements, govt spending, our middle east involvement and health care reform are all much more important issues.

With tort reform a close 2nd.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:42 AM
I dont think Ive ever seen a riot from a losing team.. weird. I had a bad feeling when before the game, NBC showed a street in Vancouver that was just packed and some guy was standing on a car already.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:43 AM

I’m all for seeing boobies and lighting the occasional couch on fire. But I was legitimately pissed when I saw people destroying the windows/stores along state street. That’s somebody else’s life/ability to earn a living your fucking with. Just stupid.

BTW, I know everyone hates/shits on Boston fans, but I was out roaming the streets boozing it up last night and it was mainly just crowd-pleasing jubilation
June 16th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
agreed. very long list of things that must be addressed before gay marriage.
I’d argue that gay marriage shouldn’t even be an issue.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:45 AM

I’m pretty sure Montreal rioted after losing to Boston last year.

I think this just confirms what we knew all along: FUCK David Tyree
June 16th, 2011 at 10:45 AM
that too.
there’s an estimated 1.2 million gay people in the US compared to 40 million pot smokers (not to mention pot smokers). millions upon millions each year are wasted in a failed fight against drugs, yet gay rights has to be a fucking priority?
we’re trillions in debt…stop wasting billions EVERY american spends on a political band-aid and wasting time making sure that roughly 1/350th of the population is happy and appeased.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:46 AM
I agree with spencer that we’ve got more pressing issues. But I don’t agree with this. Human beings and are entitled to happiness. There is no “sanctity” of marriage anymore – half end in divorce.

Hockey fans outside of Montreal are a different breed. Although when Toronto eventually wins, they’re burn the entire province to the ground. I didn’t think Boston would destroy the city.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:47 AM
here’s an estimated 1.2 million gay people in the US c
Where are you getting that number? I’m willing to bet there’s 1.2 million gay people in Marin and Miami-Dade Counties alone.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:47 AM
That number seems awfully low
June 16th, 2011 at 10:48 AM
There is no “sanctity” of marriage anymore – half end in divorce.
Anything you can legally do with a woman you just met while drunk in front of an Elvis impersonator in Vegas isn’t that sanctified.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:48 AM
+1 lost brain cell
June 16th, 2011 at 10:48 AM
spencer, there certainly needs to be reform in the war on drugs or whatever you want to call it. But a right to happiness (and the many financial, health care and personal benefits that come along with marriage) are more important than a leisure activity.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:48 AM
we’re trillions in debt…stop wasting billions EVERY american spends on a political band-aid and wasting time making sure that roughly 1/350th of the population is happy and appeased.
Its not like our country has actually had prohibition on something before and saw all the same negatives that came with that. I don’t know the numbers but I imagine useless foreign aid is helping fuck up our national debt as well.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:49 AM
I myself once dabbled in pacifism. Not in ‘Nam of course.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:49 AM
This right here. I came on to congratulate Boston and discuss the series, but it looks like it’s all riot all the time today. This thing was totally planned, and it didn’t matter what happened in the game with this nutcases. Just like 94, and the first weekend of the Olympics except that time the public turned on them. This time the drunks saw a chance to party.
And though this is significant, and embarassing for people from Vancouver, the media did begin to play the thing up last night, reporting all kinds of ‘unconfirmed’ reports of guys stabbing Boston fans, etc. none of that was ever confirmed (though I haven’t looked this morning) yet they continued to report it.
One other big thing is how the rest of the public is responding – they are seriously ticked off at the rioters not the police (like in 94) – many were advocating more force.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:49 AM
Yeah I thought it was more like 10% of the population
June 16th, 2011 at 10:49 AM

“Hey! I’m going to list off all the crimes I committed on a public website with my full name attached!” and his new facebook picture is the riots, while his profile is closed, you can search his friends, find out his high school, his brother, his sister, other photos of him. Seriously folks everything you post on line is public. Everything.

June 16th, 2011 at 10:52 AM
Where are you getting that number? I’m willing to bet there’s 1.2 million gay people in Marin and Miami-Dade Counties alone.
Atlanta alone has a gay population that has to be close to 6 figures. It’s 3rd in the country in gay population behind San Francisco and Seattle (or so I hear).
June 16th, 2011 at 10:52 AM
what kinda odds you giving on that?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:52 AM
even then, it’s still lower than the number of drug users in the country. and not letting gays marry isn’t costing BILLIONS PER YEAR.
Legislation against gay marriage, time spent enforcing said legislation on gay marriage, time spent on lawsuits trying to overthrow legislation on gay marriage and enforcement thereof, lost spousal benefits when a non-legally recognized partner passes away…
What do these have in common? They all have costs.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:52 AM
War is peace, spencer.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:53 AM
Who are straight people to tell homosexuals that their union is any less significant than a straight union when there are such things as “no fault” divorce laws on the books? The notion of sanctity in marriage has been gone for a long, long time.
/divorced and cynical
June 16th, 2011 at 10:53 AM
This is quite the political collage in here.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:54 AM
They did, and there are a number of fb groups and twitter feeds supporting the police, looking for pictures, facebook statuses, etc. of those involved. I think you could put these people into jail and throw away the key and no one would care in this city this time.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:54 AM

June 16th, 2011 at 10:54 AM

Oh no no no… NDub.. you completely missed my point… I was suggesting that marrying whomever you want regardless of race/sex/creed shouldn’t be an issue because it’s not the government’s business to be legislating whom you can marry. It’s made an issue because of the religious folk. I’m about as pro gay marriage as you can get. Hope you see this.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:55 AM
im not doubting that…but there isn’t Gay Enforcement Agency is there? one with a $2.6 BILLION annual budget? on top of all the other costs that go with it?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:56 AM
this.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:56 AM
You got Kid Cudi’s song stuck in my head and now I must listen.

Yeah but the money spent on the “war on drugs” is still much higher. Wasted government work, wasted state and local police work, overcrowded jails and courtrooms over it, and it still all leads to more crime.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:57 AM
im for increasing defense spending too, but id probably get ripped apart for that around here.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:57 AM
My bad, Badger. I got ya.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:57 AM
im not doubting that…but there isn’t Gay Enforcement Agency is there? one with a $2.6 BILLION annual budget? on top of all the other costs that go with it?
I’m not equating the costs, but I’m speaking more to the cost of lost individual rights. You can’t put a number on that. And on top of that there is a cost to the government in preventing those individuals from having equal rights.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:58 AM
Well, that’s another song now in my head.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:59 AM
The guy that threw the punch in the last video has been in a bunch of these and would be, um, easy to pick out of a lineup.
All of these videos are a disaster.
June 16th, 2011 at 10:59 AM
Only if it were at the expense of something like education. Then I’d argue with you. Otherwise, no.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:00 AM
It’s like the people with LeBron anger all got together and took a trip to Vancouver.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:00 AM
I dont think Ive ever seen a riot from a losing team..
.
black people after the Rodney King verdict.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:00 AM
It works on so many levels.
I had the Punch-Out knockdown music going through my head after that pasty fuck got dropped.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:01 AM
they have a right to live in another country where they can get married…but they live in the US, where there are more pressing issues right now.
im not against gay rights in the slightest. but everything has it’s time…and now isn’t it.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:01 AM
im for increasing defense spending too, but id probably get ripped apart for that around here.
I’m for smart defense spending. If you followed the story of the fight between Congress and the Pentagon on funding of a second, American manufactured, jet engine for the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, you’d realize how utterly retarded it can get.
The long and the short of it is that the Defense Department said they did not need a second engine option and that one was enough. Congress insisted on their being a second engine. The development of which has cost around $12 billion and set back the F-35 program years.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:02 AM
yes, i think there are more videos coming from CRM in about 30
June 16th, 2011 at 11:02 AM
A Vancouver tradition unfortunately. If they had won it probably wouldn’t have been as bad.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:03 AM

Surely this was a combination of lobbyists for the companies that manufacture the engine, and politicians who could add jobs in their districts. Neither of which are in the best interests of the country as a whole.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:03 AM
Ace and Gary are on it.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:04 AM
absolutely…and ive been following.
/that thing is FUCKING SWEET
June 16th, 2011 at 11:04 AM

At the risk of turning this into a two hour debate, it is utterly absurd that rather than follow the philosophy of this nation set forth in the Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal, that instead we insist that American citizens move to another country because we’ve “got bills to pay”.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:04 AM
Who are straight people to tell homosexuals that their union is any less significant than a straight union when there are such things as “no fault” divorce laws on the books? The notion of sanctity in marriage has been gone for a long, long time.
/divorced and cynical
“It’s as if I was looking into a mirror!”
I agree. Let them get married and suffer like some of us.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:04 AM
Bam!
June 16th, 2011 at 11:04 AM
Yikes, might have to work on finishing that cricket piece on Grantland
June 16th, 2011 at 11:04 AM
Motherfucking this.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:04 AM
Surely this was a combination of lobbyists for the companies that manufacture the engine, and politicians who could add jobs in their districts. Neither of which are in the best interests of the country as a whole.
That was exactly what happened.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:05 AM
ms621…did you see the special on the competition between boeing and lockheed martin to get the f-35 contract? really interesting.
both lockheed and boeing have their hands in many pockets in washington.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:06 AM
*sees Ohio chillin’ on top of the port-o-john*
*lowers shoulder and charges*
*points at mangled and moaning Ohio laying on the ground*
*kicks Ohio in the Cleveland and runs away giggling*

June 16th, 2011 at 11:06 AM
both lockheed and boeing have their hands in many pockets in washington.
Same could be said for just about every fortune 500 company, I’d imagine.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:07 AM
it’s also utterly absurd that we’re even having this “argument” considering we agree.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:07 AM
Oh goodie. And people wonder why there were all those spectators last night, taking pictures, refusing to leave and generally making it difficult for police and firemen to get to the hotspots.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:07 AM
ms621…did you see the special on the competition between boeing and lockheed martin to get the f-35 contract? really interesting.
Yes I followed it a bit. It was big news here in the DFW area because Lockheed is manufacturing much of the plane at their Fort Worth plant and testing is supposed to take place, at least initially, at the Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:07 AM
Bear with me here…
I know a guy who’s got a close family member at the top of a regional Boeing plant. Said family member has connections to the former Gov. and some district politicians. I’ve heard a lot of back-scratching stories with the ultimate goal being “Get me jobs, money, tax cuts, perks, etc. and I’ll get you votes.”
June 16th, 2011 at 11:09 AM
it’s also utterly absurd that we’re even having this “argument” considering we agree.
As your point seems to be that they should go to another country and get married there (said marriage would still not be federally recognize here), and my point is that that is not a reasonable argument, then I don’t see that we do.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:09 AM
my dollar is not a vote.
ms621…and i guess we agree on everything other than “you can git out!”
if you call yourself and american, you should worry about the larger issues before talking about your “rights.” because last time i checked, being gay isn’t illegal…you just can’t get a state certificate authenticating it. you can still adopt, live together, whatnot…the other shit will come in time.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:09 AM
Neither of which are in the best interests of the country as a whole.
No representative has the country’s interest as whole at heart.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:09 AM
damn.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:09 AM
i read an interesting story of the inside politics between everyone – Boeing and Northrop incl. – regarding the design and contracts for building the pilotless, attack/strike plane. The politics and backroom dealing was amazing, even though I assumed it happened.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:11 AM
No representative has the country’s interest as whole at heart.
It’s a sad truth, but it’s the truth nonetheless. Their loyalties are to their districts and almost nowhere else.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:11 AM
Well said

I seem to recall reading somewhere that “rights” was a large part of the American identity. If we don’t have those, then what the fuck else matters?
June 16th, 2011 at 11:13 AM
it’s funny listening to Republicans drone on over and over again about cutting the deficit. But when they’re pressed on specifics, the only thing they can say is they have to sit down and consider everything on the table. They never want to talk about defense, because everyone has a big defense contractor somewhere in their little district. Even Gates said there was plenty of money to cut at DOD. Of course he was ignored.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:15 AM
And being gay is no more illegal than being black is. But how did that status work out for black people prior to the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth Amendments, the Civil Rights Act, and the Voting Rights Act?
June 16th, 2011 at 11:16 AM
democracy is a large part of the american identity, and we’re not that democratic when profits and corporate ambitions and personal interests of our leaders are fueling policy that goes against what’s better for the country.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:17 AM
Yes.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:17 AM
im sorry, but comparing what slaves went through to what gays are “going through” is not an apt comparison.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:18 AM
Spence, if Pat Metheny wanted to get married to Peyton Hillis, you would be demonstrating at the Capitol right now.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:18 AM
democracy is a large part of the american identity, and we’re not that democratic when profits and corporate ambitions and personal interests of our leaders are fueling policy that goes against what’s better for the country.
Was that the part of the Constitution’s preamble that they took out because it was considered “too wordy”?
June 16th, 2011 at 11:19 AM
lol.
if i was demonstrating in washington right now, id demonstrate how happy my tongue could make fran townsend’s snuke.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:19 AM
I have relatives from Belfast. They are laughing at the “Canadians” portrayed themselves
Belfast is wagging a finger. How embarrassing!
June 16th, 2011 at 11:20 AM
im sorry, but comparing what slaves went through to what gays are “going through” is not an apt comparison.
It’s not a straight up comparison. It’s a discussion of relative rights and the sanctity of the individual. It’s not illegal to be anything in this country except a murderer, thief, liar (under oath), or an otherwise malcontent. But that hasn’t stopped large swathes of American citizens from being denied some manner of right or another in complete defiance of the founding principles of this nation.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:20 AM
Sooo, spence likes pot more than human beings, eh?
June 16th, 2011 at 11:20 AM
That may be a reason he is leaving/being shown the door, he’s been harping on how we need to change the direction of our defense strategy and obviously the politicians and their corporate friends don’t want to hear it.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:21 AM
beats me…i was drawing pics of navy seals shooting the shit out of lloyd carr when we studied that.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:21 AM
animals too.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:21 AM
damn.
I”m not saying I agreed with it (in fact, I even went so far as to purchase the first solo album by Ice Cube, you know, for solidarity), I’m just saying that’s an example.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:21 AM
Sooo, spence likes pot more than human beings, eh?
I think if Spencer wants to smoke it legally he should move to another country.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:22 AM
so the status of gays today is the equivalent of Blacks prior to these laws?
June 16th, 2011 at 11:22 AM
Potheads fall in to otherwise malcontent.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:23 AM
so the status of gays today is the equivalent of Blacks prior to these laws?
I should have realized I was falling into this trap.
No it’s not a straight up comparison. And it was not meant to be. See 162.
Apologies for not being clearer.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:23 AM
This.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:24 AM
it was true, and kind of funny.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:24 AM
Yea. And kick the gays out!
June 16th, 2011 at 11:25 AM
conversely, “separation of church and state” hasn’t stopped retarded politicians from trying to snatch votes from stupid people who think that creationism and intelligent design have a place in a state’s public education.
and i hear you loud and clear…it’s total bullshit two gay people can’t marry. im not arguing that in the slightest. i just think we need to clean up the policy making body first, that’s all.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:26 AM
Gays don’t want equal rights, they want special rights. They can get spousal benefits, mat leave for adopting a child etc but that’s not enough. They want to step all over what what most people believe to be true and sacred.
Ban gay marriage, and hockey. Both cause riots
June 16th, 2011 at 11:26 AM
That may be a reason he is leaving/being shown the door, he’s been harping on how we need to change the direction of our defense strategy and obviously the politicians and their corporate friends don’t want to hear it.
Gates is also sick of being in government service. He doesn’t do it out because he enjoys it, he does it out of a sense of duty. Bush asked him to be Secretary of Defense while Gates was President of Texas A&M; a position which he has since referred to as his “dream job”. And he left it for the greater good. And then when asked to stay on by Obama, he did so for a further two years. All while his family resides on the other side of the country.
I can’t think of anyone more deserving of retirement from government service than him.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:27 AM
Oh dear
June 16th, 2011 at 11:27 AM
i have no problem smoking it illegally.
smoking pot = trading memorabilia you yourself earned for tattoos in regards to retarded policy.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:28 AM
i have no problem smoking it illegally.
smoking pot = trading memorabilia you yourself earned for tattoos in regards to retarded policy.
I chuckled. Well done.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:28 AM
Can someone once and for all explain to me what is so fucking true and sacred about marriage?
June 16th, 2011 at 11:29 AM
Can someone once and for all explain to me what is so fucking true and sacred about marriage?
I can tell you what is going to be great, and wonderful and sacred to me about my marriage. But no I cannot explain to you what is sacred about the institution of marriage by itself.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:31 AM
tax breaks.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:32 AM
They want to step all over what what most people believe to be true and sacred.
What’s your stance on Russian mail-order brides? Or Las Vegas? Or TV shows like the Bachelor? Unless you’re up in arms/protesting against all of those things, you sir, are an idiot.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:33 AM
tax breaks.
Winner.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:33 AM
why get bride when you go to club, give girl pill, take home in bmw 5-series? good car, no problem. only problem is vodka dick…HAHAHA.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:34 AM
Can someone once and for all explain to me what is so fucking true and sacred about marriage?
It’s the commitment between 2 people that’s sacred. Marriage is but a formality with our Lord and Savior’s and the government’s stamp.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:35 AM
I’m late to the party on this one but if it doesn’t effect (affect?) me I don’t care. If it makes you happy, get married — I dont care. Dougb apparently thinks otherwise.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:35 AM
My friend Dimitri has girls from Ukraine. They say Ukraine is weak. But Natasha has strong thighs. You know what I speak of friend. Here take pill and we meet Natasha. She have great moves on dance floor. We all feel good and sit in Boris’s hot tub later.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:37 AM
I was searching for the words to say what was so simply said here.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:38 AM
I also like how a post with videos documenting a riot evolved into a discussion about defense contracts and then about gay marriage.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:38 AM
BWAHAHAHAH!!!
strong with plow.
June 16th, 2011 at 11:39 AM
Having someone who will drive you to the hospital.
June 16th, 2011 at 2:20 PM
Don’t like gay marriage? Then don’t get one.
I’d like it to be legalized for the tax benefits, but that’s about it.
