Drew Rosenhaus Emphatically Hails Terrelle Pryor as First Rounder
Terrelle Pryor and his ever-present agent Drew Rosenhaus held a press conference with reporters yesterday along with the rest of the Rosenhaus army. It’s a lot of your typical agent babble, but you have to appreciate the ridiculous showmanship of Rosenhaus no matter how smarmy he is.
The supplemental draft related fun begins around the :13 mark. The following quote comes just shy of the 7:00 mark:
“He is one of the most gifted quarterbacks… that the NFL has seen. For anyone who questions where he’s gonna be drafted, I expect him to be a first round pick in the supplemental draft. This league needs quarterbacks… are you kidding me? Middle round for this guy?”
He goes on to gush for a couple obscenely-convincing minutes including a “gimme a break!” over Pryor’s arm strength. (“He holds 59 touchdowns, a record at Ohio State! This is Big Ten football that he has dominated!”) Not pictured during the press conference was Rosenhaus’s unmanageable, pulsating woody.

what, no Douchy Agents tag?
June 15th, 2011 at 12:17 PM
A lot of teams draft a TE in the first round. Take the Jets, for instance.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:18 PM
I can’t be the only one who only ever heard of the Supp draft BEFORE it actually happened.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:18 PM
pryor DOES have a strong arm.
that said…FIRST ROUND? WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR DRUGS I WANT THEM THEY SOUND AWESOME.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:18 PM
This is Big Ten football that he has dominated!”
Was this really necessary?
June 15th, 2011 at 12:19 PM
If only Rosenhaus said “he can throw to the endzone from midfield while taking a knee”, Pryor would be a Raven in a matter of weeks.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:22 PM
Even for Rosenhaus this is excessive
June 15th, 2011 at 12:22 PM
Hasn’t been a big deal lately, but Kosar, Cris Carter, the Boz were all Supp Draft selection. Skins burned a 3rd rounder on Jeremy Jarmon 2 years ago.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:23 PM
Maybe he just mispronounced “fourth round”?
June 15th, 2011 at 12:26 PM
What’s PayneInsiders prediction? He’s usually spot on with this type of stuff.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:26 PM
Rosenhaus is like Scott Boras Lite: more media hungry, not as good at agenting.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:26 PM
An agent talking positively about his client? Why, I never.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:27 PM
The Pryor “shoutout” and apology to Tressel was definitely a Rosenhaus move.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:27 PM
I realize that Rosenhaus just does what is best for his clients, but damn it is so easy to dislike him in every way.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:27 PM
An agent overhyping a client? Never!
June 15th, 2011 at 12:27 PM
This is hilarious, if only because Tosh joked about this happening as soon as the game ended
June 15th, 2011 at 12:28 PM
the world has been better since this assdouche stayed behind the scenes.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:28 PM
i really don’t get the rosenhaus hate…his job is to take care of his clients and he does it extremely well.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:29 PM
Terrelle Pryor and his ever-present agent Drew Rosenhaus
I didn’t know he was Pryor’s agent but now that I do I cannot say I am surprised for even a millisecond.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:29 PM
Douchey Agents tag added. How the hell did I forget with the Rosenhaus army present?
June 15th, 2011 at 12:30 PM

thats true. he just comes across/looks like a faxsexual.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:30 PM
Pryor’s a real piece of shit.

Who among us hasn’t gotten drunk and wondered off somewhere?
/I definitely did once in college.
//twas a miracle I wasn’t arrested.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:31 PM
What does that make Cam Newton?
June 15th, 2011 at 12:31 PM

I know we chatted about World War Z movie the other day. EW.com reporting Matthew Fox (aka Jack MotherFucking Shephard) is in talks to have a role in the movie.

I would say he’s pretty good. I agree with Clown’s Boras-lite assessment.
And for the record, I find his demeanor to be amusing. Love the constant oversell.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:31 PM
who?
June 15th, 2011 at 12:32 PM
Fuck yeah!
June 15th, 2011 at 12:32 PM
i really don’t get the rosenhaus hate…his job is to take care of his clients and he does it extremely well.
It’s not WHAT he does, it’s HOW he does it. But if I was a pro-athlete of any renown at all, I would be thinking Drew Rosenhaus or Scott Boras are the best agents out there for sure.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:33 PM
absolutely. and boras-lite is quite appropriate.

I worry about how that movie is going to turn out. JMS is a hell of a writer, but to turn an oral history into movie form could be difficult
June 15th, 2011 at 12:34 PM
Give me a break. Leigh Steinberg does the same exact thing as Rosenhaus only he doesn’t scream from a rooftop in a silk bathrobe.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:35 PM
Same here. That book is fucking incredible. I don’t care if yall think this is hyperbole – it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. The storytelling is totally compelling and gripping.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:35 PM
this…all agents are slimy. i appreciate rosenhaus not trying to put a veil over the pile of dung.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:36 PM
Probably signed up to play zombie. Fox has already perfected the staunch, emotionless expression in all scenes.
/hating for no reason
June 15th, 2011 at 12:36 PM
What does that make Cam Newton?
Newton’s a douchebag as well.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:36 PM
this pita is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fucking good. it sucks im going to have to poop it out later…i want it with me forever.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:36 PM
Rosenhaus only has to convince 1 team this is true. And the sad part is, someone will likely believe it.
/You know Rosenhaus prolly has at least an 8 ball on him at all times.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:38 PM
Next question!
June 15th, 2011 at 12:39 PM
how does the supp draft work if you don’t have a pick in say, the first round? do you lost the pick the next year or are you unable to draft?
June 15th, 2011 at 12:39 PM
Hawkeye – “In an interview with Fangoria, (book author Max) Brooks said, “I can’t give it away, but Straczynski found a way to tie it all together. The last draft I read was amazing.”[35]“
June 15th, 2011 at 12:40 PM
how does the supp draft work if you don’t have a pick in say, the first round? do you lost the pick the next year or are you unable to draft?
You have to have the pick available in the next draft. No first round pick, can’t assign a first round pick grade to a player in the supplemental draft.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:41 PM
also, Hawkeye – Matt Carnahan re-wrote the script in July 2009.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:43 PM
TJ:
Can Lebron be blamed for this?
end TJ
June 15th, 2011 at 12:45 PM
NDub – so it went JMS to Carnahan?
June 15th, 2011 at 12:45 PM
HA HA!
The police quote sounds like they wanted to let him go but he was so wasted that he would’ve endangered himself. If I had to guess, he was probably in the mid .20s.

No one reads my links
June 15th, 2011 at 12:46 PM
Yes, sir. I’ll link you.
It’s definitely a huuuuuuge project, so I’d guess a second writer is a good thing.

Where’s the Situation to tell me the odds on TP going in the 1st round??
June 15th, 2011 at 12:49 PM
Great link, johndewar. (And only johndewar)
June 15th, 2011 at 12:50 PM
unnecessary, Hernia.
June 15th, 2011 at 12:52 PM
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on how much change is going into it. Not too surprised, considering how long it’s been being worked on
June 15th, 2011 at 4:27 PM
Pryor should like this about him … quite a departure from Tressel’s tactics.
June 15th, 2011 at 4:29 PM
CJ, Hoof Hearted bagged on us in the Astros thread.
