Yardwork: Wrigley Field Really Is a Dump
Last week Peter Gammons hilariously and accurately called Wrigley Field an unlivable dump. Over the years many people have called Wrigley Field a dump. Ozzie Guillen strongly believes Wrigley Field is a dump. Today in the Sun-Times, Rick Morrissey agrees with both of them: “Wrigley Field is a dump. The baseball played on it is an eyesore. The latter is the real shame.”
I’ve been to Wrigley Field, and while it’s a unique place to see a baseball game, it is indeed a dump. Cubs GM Jim Hendry, who enjoys a good pee in a trough just as much as the next guy, strangely does not believe the place needs too drastic of a makeover. I’m guessing like most other things, Cubs fans would tend to disagree with that assessment. Believe it or not, last night the Cubbies won at that scorching dump by a score of 1-0, thanks to seven shutout innings from Harry Caray and two nearly flawless innings of relief from Jeff Samardzija and Crlos Marmol.
Indians 1, Yankees 0 — The Yankees loaded the bases in the first inning with no outs behind hits from Jeter, Granderson and a walk to Teixeira, but came up empty. And continued to come up empty. When you get 7 2-3 quality innings from A.J. Burnett you have to give the guy something. Weird loss. Oh, and Jeter got hurt (minor calf strain) so it appears perhaps he’ll get to 3,000 this weekend at that dump known as Wrigley Field?
Astros 8, Braves 3 — Hunter Pence went 3-for-4 with a homer and 4 RBI extending his hitting streak to 23 games. Sadly, due to Minnesota somewhat waking up, the Astros are back to owning the worst record in baseball. Congrats?
Tigers 2, Rays 1, 10 innings — Joe Maddon and David Price, who wasn’t even pitching, were booted for arguing a key play at the plate in the seventh inning where Justin Ruggiano was called out trying to tag up. In the bottom of the 10th, it took Victor Martinez so long to get around the bases on Ramon Santiago’s game-winning hit that it turned into a triple. Phil Coke of course pitched a great game just days after I called for his return to the bullpen.
Pirates 3, Mets 1 — Paul Maholm held the Mets to three hits over seven innings and has the Pirates one game away from .500, which is clearly their favorite flirtation. Maholm has been magnificent in three of his last four starts.
D-Backs 12, Marlins 9 — Zach Duke served up 13 hits and allowed 7 earned runs and did not take the loss, which is due in part to the fact that Ricky Nolasco’s performance was an abomination but also because he helped his own cause, launching his second home run of the season. Miguel Montero also provided some critical damage, going 3-for-5 with 4 RBI.
In celebration of Major League Baseball allowing us to embed highlights from things that did not happen yesterday, here’s David Ortiz hitting a ridiculous line drive homer in Toronto over the weekend:

Preach
June 14th, 2011 at 9:59 AM
In his defense, he does have to (presumably) drive by Soldier Field Presented by the Parliament of Obiwanitu every day. I wouldn’t blame him at all if the prospect of renovation spooked him.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:00 AM
I’ve not added Hernia, Peter Gammons, and Ozzie Guillen to the liquidation list.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
I say we put a dome over Wrigley.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:02 AM
I know Shea was a dump, but it was a dump without nostalgia. Have not been to Wrigley, what is the worst part of the place?
June 14th, 2011 at 10:03 AM
I’ve now added them. Just so there’s no confusion on liquidation. Jeter will get his 3,000th at Wrigley. A historic and long standing ballpark. Not some gaudy monstrosity that took over a cathedral of baseball.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:05 AM
So true. The dump of all dumps. Some seats were angled almost in the opposite direction of home plate. An inexplicable debacle of a design.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:06 AM
There are reasons old ballparks get replaced and it’s not just to make money with luxury boxes…there’s something to be said for having better sight lines and going to a ballgame in a place that doesn’t smell like piss
Cincy somehow made a change without fixing these problems however, that place is a modern dump
June 14th, 2011 at 10:07 AM
Butters, it appears you will not be suffering Juan Pierre as an everyday player much longer. Congratulations.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
Agreed. When I first went to Great American, I was shocked. Liek everything else in Cincy they took teh cheapest and quickest fix they could find.
In 10 years there will be another cry for more taxpayer dolalrs to refurbish the place.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:08 AM
I would be happy if they Fenway’d Wrigley Field. It needs a jumbotron and they need to fix the concrete instead of just putting nets underneath the grandstand to catch falling pieces. Other than that, they’ve done a great job with amenities the last two years. The food has drastically improved, they rebuilt the bathrooms and they have the Captain Morgan club out front if you’re into that kind of thing.
They did it all without taking away the nostalgia. If you want an Old Style in a wax paper beer cup, you can still get one.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:09 AM
Sadly, due to Minnesota somewhat waking up
Hopefully they go and trade some bigger names so this doesn’t last.
/Team high draft pick
June 14th, 2011 at 10:09 AM
Wait, WHAT? LINK?!?!?!
June 14th, 2011 at 10:10 AM
yeah, but on a good day that cathedral of baseball smelled only faintly of piss… or maybe that was the ghosts coming out?
June 14th, 2011 at 10:10 AM
You wanna talk dumps, Old Busch Stadium was a dump. You could fry eggs on that outfield from June through August.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:10 AM
@SC: Agreed. Henry & Lucchino have been genius with the Fenway makeover and additions.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:11 AM
I’ve seen it in several places. Viciedo is going to get called up. And he’s going to play the outfield. And Quentin and Rios aren’t sitting, so…
Here’s one.

124 degrees on the field for the All-Star Game in 1966. Rick Sutcliffe has shared some stories about guys putting a wet wash cloth in their pants during summer games just to keep cool.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:13 AM
Awesome, been waiting for this…suppose they can just bat Ramirez leadoff, that spot doesn’t matter as much in the AL (even if they didn’t call up Viciedo I was calling for Lillibridge to start every day in LF and hit at the top spot)
Look out, rest of MLB…Sox are comin’
June 14th, 2011 at 10:13 AM
Shea stadium is quite possibly the worst ballpark ever.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:13 AM
So if you go to Wrigley avoid sitting under anything, good tip.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
Shea stadium was (don’t miss it) quite possibly the worst ballpark ever.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:14 AM
I may be biased though, since Mets fans are a whiny bunch (except cleet).
June 14th, 2011 at 10:15 AM
Wrigley Field Really Is a Dump
No shit. All it takes is one visit in person. Most overrated ballpark in the country, IMO. The fact that it’s filled with a bunch of drunk yuppies who have out-priced real fans and still think Sammy Sosa plays on the team doesn’t help. The neighborhood/what goes on outside it is what makes it so cool.
/Waits for SC retort about drunk fatties at Miller Park
June 14th, 2011 at 10:15 AM
When the writers and broadcast guys came back from Fenway, they all agreed that it was done right and that was the direction to take for Wrigley. I still need to see the inside of Fenway Park. I need a flock of Yankee fans to go with though.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:16 AM
Sounds like Fenway. For all the great updates they have done there, it’d be cool if they redid some of the seat angles, and not charge the same for someone sitting directly behind a concrete pole.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:16 AM
The worst home fans I’ve ever seen? Either Padres or White Sox fans. Neither seemed to give a shit, and the only word White Sox fans knew was “Konerko!!!!”
June 14th, 2011 at 10:17 AM
What the cubs need to do: Tear down everything but the outfield bleachers/ivy. Rebuild the grandstand from scratch. Nobody goes for the cramped seats and obstructed views.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:17 AM
I’ll go.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
Nothing’s worse than The Juicer down in Tampa.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
Because that’s the only word we need to know, Paulie’s raking again this season
June 14th, 2011 at 10:18 AM
What the cubs need to do: Tear down everything but the outfield bleachers/ivy. Rebuild the grandstand from scratch. Nobody goes for the cramped seats and obstructed views.
That seems to be a good idea, but is the existing land area big enough?
June 14th, 2011 at 10:19 AM
If Peter Gammons thinks Wrigley is a dump, I’d hate to think of what he thought of pre-renovation Fenway. I’d been to both and frankly, I took them for what they are: Old ballparks. I wasn’t going there expecting to be hanging out and watching a polo match.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:19 AM
I love Miller Park. Stadium Sauce is kickass. You can get Leinie’s. There’s tailgating. Big fan of Wrigley North. Still trying to plan our game this year with my buddy that works in WI. We go once a year.
Then let’s make this happen. I’m going to Toronto/Montreal in October, so this year might not work unless we can find a weekend game where I don’t have to take time off. Look for a Yankee game. I don’t really care what tickets run us, I’ll pay up to $250 but will obviously look for the bargan.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:20 AM
“Sounds like Fenway. For all the great updates they have done there, it’d be cool if they redid some of the seat angles, and not charge the same for someone sitting directly behind a concrete pole.”
While all this is true, Fenway is lightyears ahead of where is was in the 80s and 90s.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:20 AM
i remember being terrified walking to/from Memorial Stadium as a youth. that place was a shithole in a declining part of Baltimore. oddly enough, i’d switch back in a heart beat if it resulted in the O’s winning again.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:20 AM
I like GABP in cincy.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:20 AM
I haven’t been to new Yankee Stadium yet, so I’m preparing myself for complete disappointment. It’s like a fucking funeral home on TV.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
That seems to be a good idea, but is the existing land area big enough?
They wouldn’t need any addition land.. it would be the same size. Cubs could play at US Cellular for a year.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
The Trop sucks, but as long as you’re not at the top of teh venue, the sitelines are good.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:21 AM
The fans?
June 14th, 2011 at 10:22 AM
Not looking for an argument, but that place is like a minor league field. I kept expecting a pie eating contest to start in centerfield between innings.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:22 AM
Busch Stadium can feel like that after night games…but most of the time, with you being allowed to drink on the street and carry beverages from place to place with you it’s a fairly friendly atmosphere.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:22 AM
On one trip to Wrigley, I sat on the 3rd base side beneath the upper bowl. There was a bird nest in the girders over my section and those birds were using the seats as their personal toilet. That drove me out to the bleachers where I ended up having a better time anyway.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:23 AM

/2008 MLJ argument
June 14th, 2011 at 10:23 AM
Have not been to Wrigley, what is the worst part of the place?
Certain games it’s just a large bar full of 20 somethings not paying attention to the game, which is fine if you’re into that sort of thing I guess. Other than that, it’s just really, really old, no scoreboard, etc.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:23 AM
It’s nice. And new. Too new.
/Stan’s is still there, though, so there’s that.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:24 AM
It really is much quieter, they priced out the lunatic. However, never waiting on line to take a piss is true glory. In certain areas at the old place there were like 4 urinals to a bathroom.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:24 AM
I enjoyed New Yankee. Pretty sure there are more food options in there than most cities in America have. Monument Park was cool. The jumbotron was incredible. We had a 2 hour rain delay so they put the Giants game on there. It was loud the day I went. They won the AL East against Boston in 2009. Very cool experience. I sat in the bleachers and it was my first exposure to the fans greeting every player and the players acknowledging them.
I never got to the old Stadium though. That is going to be a lifelong regret.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:26 AM
I never got to the old Stadium though. That is going to be a lifelong regret.
Me too. I wish I would have gotten out there.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:26 AM
to each their own i guess. ive only been to 4 big league stadiums, but i like gabp. wouldnt call it the best, but i enjoy it.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:27 AM
the metrodome was like that for baseball. talk about a dump.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:27 AM
I was lucky enough to be there for the Boone game. It will be impossible to top that sports moment.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:27 AM
“It’s like a fucking funeral home on TV.”
Walking through the concourse does feel like you’re in a mausoleum. The actual gametime experience is nice, albeit quiet.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:27 AM
This is how Lucas Oil is compared to the RCA Dome, whether or not there was sound pumped into the old establishment or not. So much quieter. Fantastic atmosphere and stadium, but there’s something to be said for being practically the NFL’s smallest stadium and being indoors.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:27 AM
I loved old Yankee stadium, except for their very shady parking arrangements (the old dirt fields with no official signage that charged $20 to leave your car nowhere near the stadium or security). I never use stadium restrooms anyway, except at Nationwide Arena. I just have a feeling the new stadium wont compare to the old one, despite the 1,000 new food options.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:28 AM
the metrodome was like that for baseball. talk about a dump.
Oh yeah… that place was a shit hole. Had seats in the lower bowl about even with first base… they faced the right fielder. My neck was sore for about a week after going to a game there.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:28 AM
I was more underwhelmed by anything, had just been in Cleveland the day before seeing a game and that ballpark being 10 years older still far exceeded it
June 14th, 2011 at 10:29 AM
That’s true. Have you been to Comerica? My favorite ballpark so far. Either that or Petco.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:29 AM
Ballparks that I’ve been to, in order of goodness.
AT&T
Camden Yards
Jacobs Field
Fenway
Old Yankee Stadium
Citizens Bank
.
.
.
Olympic Stadium
June 14th, 2011 at 10:29 AM
Also, field dimensions and team performance aside, Citi Field is a great place to watch a game.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:31 AM
Ah, forgot to put Rogers Centre on there but it’s unremarkable. Toronto as a city, awesome though.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:31 AM
holy shit I sat through some scortchers at that place. absolutely no breeze inside the stadium ever. saw Griffey Jr. hit his 500th HR there on fathers day and I bet it was 105 degrees.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:32 AM
Also, field dimensions and team performance aside, Citi Field is a great place to watch a game. I would stay out of the left field stands under the overhangs if you have an option however.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:32 AM
Haven’t been to US Cellular since the “renovation” Butters… did they do a nice job? The upper deck is probably still horrendously steep, right? I thought I was going to fall over backwards walking up those stairs when I went about 7 years ago. The Sox really missed out. Missed the “cool stadium” binge by about a year. They could have at least oriented the stadium that would allow for a view of Chicago’s kick-ass sky-line.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:32 AM
havent been to either, but may make it to comerica this summer.
i like PNC Park. I feel like its a better version of GABP. Also really liked Camden Yards
June 14th, 2011 at 10:33 AM
There’s nothing special or terrible about the Cell, I was never there when the upper deck was a true nosebleed section to compare but it’s smaller now and a decent enough place to watch a game
June 14th, 2011 at 10:33 AM
I don’t know why but that stadium always intrigued me. I always wanted to go there and watch a game with 3,000 other people and collect foul balls and be able to taunt players and have them actually hear you.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:33 AM
In order of goodlinesseses:
Comerica
Petco
AT&T
Old Yankee
Camden
Citizens Bank
Wrigley
(and not really sure how to rank these, but…)
Marlins Stadium
Coors
Cisco
Tropicana
Shea
US Cellular
GABP
I think I’m missing one or two
June 14th, 2011 at 10:34 AM
Ballparks I want to go to:
PNC
Fenway
Turner
Camden (been on the outside, never in)
I’ve been to AT&T (amazing), PetCo (pretty cool in the OF), Wrigley, Minute Maid (great food), Miller, old Busch (average), US Cellular (made immense progress over the years), Oakland (DUMP DUMP DUMP DUMP DUMP), and Coors Field (very cool, rockpile $4!).
June 14th, 2011 at 10:35 AM
No argument. SafeCo is the best.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:36 AM
Used to go down on the field every season for family and kids picture day when I was little. Unbelievably hot. Like walking on fire-laced carpet. Can’t imagine the toll it takes on the body.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:36 AM
I really cannot stress just how bad the stadium in Oakland is. The food sucks, there’s way too much foul territory so you’re like 50 feet farther from the field than normal, it’s in the fucking hood and you might die on your way home plus… there’s a beautiful ballpark across the Bay. Oakland Coliseum is easily the worst venue, in any sport, that I’ve been to.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
Turner
Pros: Excellent place to watch a game, nice amenities, great sight-lines, decent food. Knowledgeable fans.
Cons: Don’t go to a day game (hot). Nothing around the ballpark. Really close to downtown, but not in the best neighborhood.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
My list:
Fenway
Camden
Citi
New Yankee
Old Yankee
Angel Stadium (or whatever its called)
.
.
Shea, Veterans, 3 Rivers, Olympic (tie)
June 14th, 2011 at 10:37 AM
I am trying to convince my Wife to let me go to a Mets-National game in D.C. as we drive to visit family in Charleston. It is either that or I stop at 2 or 3 minor league parks in the Carolinas.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:38 AM
St. Bear, surprised you have not made it to Citizen Bank yet. Other than the Phillie fans it is a very nice ball park.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:39 AM
Prudential Center in downtown Newark is pretty nicely done. I’ve been there for Devils hockey, concerts and shows. Well lit, spacious, but they could stand to have a few more bartenders.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:39 AM
Ha, Veterans Stadium. Forgot about that place. What an absolute mess.
Seeing a guy puke in his mouth at a Giants-Eagles game and struggle to hold it in for a few minutes was one of the standout highlights.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:39 AM
Oh shit, forgot about PNC. That place is great. Pirates did a really nice job with the monuments, truly an awesome history that club has. Good beer on tap for like $5. It’s a winner.
/fuck the Steelers
June 14th, 2011 at 10:40 AM
My List:
Safeco
Camden Yards
Citi Bank
Yankee Stadium (old and new)
Wife got me tix to Target field for birthday, so hopefully it goes up there soon
June 14th, 2011 at 10:40 AM
“St. Bear, surprised you have not made it to Citizen Bank yet. Other than the Phillie fans it is a very nice ball park.”
It’s a pricing issue. Since they built it, the team has been good, so demand is high. I tried getting Red Sox tickets last year, or the year before, but they required you to buy a package with other games, and the secondary market was ridiculous.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:41 AM
Agreed.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:42 AM
You know what is a shitty place to watch a day game in the summer? Rangers Ballpark. Just ludicrously hot.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:43 AM
the jake is a great stadium. if yall ever get the chance, it’s a great baseball experience.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:43 AM
Forgot about PNC. It is above Yankee stadium.
Stadiums I hate:
Nationals park (old and new)
Metrodome
Miller Park
US Cell
June 14th, 2011 at 10:43 AM
Well if you just want to go for a game I imagine Marlin or National tickets are under $20, and you really can just watch from anywhere in the lower level.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
Miller Park has everything you need…very comfortable… a good time. It’s just a bit sterile. Especially with the roof closed. Feels like you’re watching a baseball game inside a Wal-Mart.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:44 AM
the jake is a great stadium.
I really would like to go there one day.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:45 AM
Stadiums I hate:
Nationals park (old and new)
Metrodome
Miller Park
US Cel
How can you “hate” Miller Park and lump it in with the metrodome? I’ve never heard anyone say that they hated that place. It’s not AT&T, but it gets the job done.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:45 AM
Agreed, got tickets for like $65 right behind home plate in those padded seats with wait service which was pretty great…even got a dirty glance back from Jhonny Peralta following some drunken trash talk, my career highlight as a sports fan
June 14th, 2011 at 10:45 AM
“Prudential Center in downtown Newark is pretty nicely done.”
Agreed, I’ve been to a couple Devils games, and it’s a good experience.
You want to talk about a terrible place for sports, Izod Arena. Holy shit, there is nothing good about time spent there.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:46 AM
i swear the acoustics in the jake make it REALLY easy to heckle players…got rusty greer so frustrated he started shooting us dirty looks and hand gestures from left field.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:48 AM
IN line. IN line. IN line.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:49 AM
The right field standing room only section in Miller is right next to the field so it makes player taunting fun…going to the Twins game next Friday I think, should read up on shit to shout at Michael Cuddyer
June 14th, 2011 at 10:51 AM
I was looking at the Red Sox schedule, and what the hell is this Red Sox/Giants Alliance for the All-Star game? Is that vote for us, we’ll vote for you? Is every team doing that? Can I continue to ask only questions?
June 14th, 2011 at 10:52 AM
And where the hell was I?
June 14th, 2011 at 10:53 AM
I know, it practically shriveled poor Willie McGee.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:54 AM
Which will be pregnant longer? Your wife or your elephant?
Who told you about my elephant?
June 14th, 2011 at 10:55 AM
You want to talk about a terrible place for sports, Izod Arena. Holy shit, there is nothing good about time spent there.
That is a piece of shit. There was no public transportation there until the Secaucus line to Giants Stadium.

Yelling that at a Twins game is just as likely to get the crowd around you pissed off as it is Michael Cuddyer.
June 14th, 2011 at 11:00 AM
I went to 5 other teams websites, and I don’t see anyone else with an All-Star partner.
June 14th, 2011 at 11:02 AM
oh heavens no! not angry diet canadians!
/glares at hawkeye
June 14th, 2011 at 11:02 AM
perfect description for Miller. I’ve been twice and it was quite boring each time. for the shit hole that it was, County Stadium at least had some atmosphere.
June 14th, 2011 at 11:03 AM
I wanna say it started last year with the 5th man vote.. I cant even remember the players involved, but the 2 teams formed an alliance that got both their guys in, I think.
June 14th, 2011 at 11:03 AM
I missed Yardwork… today was sleeping in day, Hernia!
June 14th, 2011 at 11:03 AM
Worst stadium I was in was old Arlington park for Rangers. I believe it was a renovated minor league stadium.
June 14th, 2011 at 11:03 AM
I didnt mean to write ’5th man’.. you know what I mean, that extra vote for the final player between 5 guys in each league.
June 14th, 2011 at 11:04 AM
That actually sounds pretty good, considering I’m hitting up Lakefront before my next Brewers game… shiny objects and loud noises will need to be avoided.

“I wanna say it started last year with the 5th man vote.. I cant even remember the players involved, but the 2 teams formed an alliance that got both their guys in, I think.”
Interesting. The Giants seemed like such a random team, but I guess it makes sense.

The game I went to at Miller park had the roof closed. It was like watching a game in the dome. Baseball should never be played under a dome.

My liste, as if anyone gives a shit…
AT&T (couldn’t beat the view)
Comerica (I am a homer)
GABP (I may have had too many Oberons)
Coors (Coors on tap? Why not…)
Jacobs (or whatever it is now)
Tropicana (a dump with Outback inside)
Wrigley (a dump with nothing inside)
Rogers Centre (like an operating room)
Tiger Stadium (hated it, not a traditionalist)
Olympic (at least I saw Rock Raines and Lou Brock play…yeah, I’m old)
Riverfront (Go Big Red Machine – almost got sick in the upper deck)

Better to play the game than have it postponed, in a perfect world every MLB stadium should have a retractable roof

Touche, but more like steak nachos.

Went to old Tiger Stadium in 1998 for Cubs game, first sell out they had in years, Cubs had roided sosa and rookie wood going.
Needless to say the stadium was not prepared it took a friend 3 innings to get a beer and they ran out of hot dogs in the fifth. NO joke.
But it was one helluva ball park.

Worst stadium I was in was old Arlington park for Rangers. I believe it was a renovated minor league stadium.
It was indeed. It was originally known as Turnpike Stadium. Once renovated, it never quite shed it’s unglamorous past. And it’s hot as the bejesus out there.

They were fantastic. My kids just devoured them. It was really good ballpark food. And we got to heckle the hell out of Trot Nixon. The sound really carries well in an empty Trop.

Diet Canadians? It’s not like it’s Buffalo. Much better than that.

Stadiums I’ve been too…
Candlestick – park I grew up going to, will always be #1
AT&T – feel lucky to have as my home team’s park
Overstock.com Coliseum (Oakland) (hahaha, just had to say that) – but agree with SC it’s a terrible terrible dump
Dodger Stadium – meh
Great American Ballpark – disappointed, looked second rate
RFK Stadium – Nationals first year in the bigs, terrible place for baseball
Minor Leagues
Raley Field (A’s) – decent
The stadium in Indianapolis (I think Indians minor league team) – great ballpark
