From my time living as a student at OSU during the times when this was happening 2003-2007 — I can tell you with 100% certanity that almost immediatley when you leave the ‘off campus area’ you are in areas that were well known for drug dealing/crime/shootings/ect. It was known amongst the student population that going pretty much anywhere above Summit. Ave at night was a bad idea. And these ares were roughly .5 miles from High St. It’s not a good area to live in. I guess what I’m trying to say is that in terms of proximity to where students live — it would be easy to find places like this.

There are some pretty bad areas around Columbus, and close to where these shops were. Just because it’s less than 5 miles from campus doesnt really mean anything
