That’s a good point, but it still seems ankle related. I feel like the reaction was more to the fact he was down on the ground writhing in pain. I’m just being optimistic more than anything I guess.

Olney linked the story yesterday about Bochy and the front office becoming worried about the abuse Posey was getting behind the plate because of the foul tips and hits in the head. It’s an investment in the team, and the logical investment is moving him to third. I’m sure it’s a similar discussion to what the Twins are having about Mauer and his positional future.

I wasn’t making a judgement on whether moving him is right or wrong. It’s just too early to say “this definitely means the end of Posey’s catching career”. Even if all the facts and predictors indicate moving Posey is a logical move, that hardly means Sabean is going to do that.
