Yea, read this yesterday. I am one of them. Good thing for me, I’m on Comcast, and they’re the only ones fighting Voltage Pictures right now and not giving up the peoples info.

I said I was going to quit this place for a few days, but I’ve calmed down. I find myself somewhat devastated about last night’s loss. I’m at the stage of grief in an NBA series when you try and talk yourself into your team being able to come back from being down 3-1. Props to the Heat for playing hard and getting the victory. I hope the Bulls can at least push it to 6 on Thursday.

it’s a leg twitch exacerbated by PED usage, amirite?
May 25th, 2011 at 8:27 AM
This article easily could have been written for 90% of what TBL writes, too. It’s brilliant.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:28 AM
awesome.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:30 AM
Not sure if this is getting a lot of publicity or not, but Barry Bonds is paying for both Stow kids’ college. Thought that was pretty nice.

May 25th, 2011 at 8:34 AM
Nah, Bonds has made it pretty clear he doesn’t give a shit about you.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:35 AM
That was awesome. Sadly, I peeked at the comments and it wasn’t fun.

that orlando over nyc thing makes me sad to be ‘mericancks

The Mouse. The Mouse is the biggest reason. Disney may be expensive for most, but it’s a deal compared to NYC.
plus, so many conventions are held in Orlando.

yeah, cj. it was more about orlndo bad than nyc good. i can think of so many places i’d wish our citizens and tourists would visit than either
May 25th, 2011 at 8:50 AM
Florida – Come for Disney, stay for the drainage ditches, mosquitos, and Jersey Shore wannabes!
May 25th, 2011 at 8:51 AM
Do people vacation in NYC for the same reasons they vacation at Disney?
It’s my understanding that you would vacation in NYC because you enjoy culture and being an adult. You vacation in Disney because no one will take your kids for a week.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
I’d like to congratulate Hines Ward for outlasting Kirstie Alley in an athletic competition! No one thought you could do it.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:52 AM
good Lord. I know we have beer snobs, bbq snobs (points to self), legs and ass vs. bewbs snobs, Kobe/Lebron snobs, etc. but now vacation destination snobs? the fuck is wrong with going to NYC or Orlando/Disney?
May 25th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
Excuse me. i was too busy celebrating the fact taht I don’t live in the Dirty Jerz.
Yeah, it’s just a truck stop between 2 major cities on the East Coast. We got nuthin’.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
I laughed yesterday when you made that comment. Did he end up really saying it?
May 25th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
Disney is an awesome vacation if you have kids, expensive as all hell, but somehting your kids will really dig. I can see no other earthly reason to venture south of S. Carolina beyond that.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
sure. there’s a lot you can do with your kids in the city. but yeah, Disney is better for this. and it’s why more people go to Orlando than anywhere else in the country.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:53 AM
Never underestimate the hate of the internet.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:54 AM
aright miz let me slow it down. nyc is fine, orlando is not, i like a lot of places better than nyc
May 25th, 2011 at 8:55 AM
There aren’t too many of these in Florida. Maybe on South Beach, but that’s just a different world.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:57 AM
Odd. 9 out of every 10 people I see in FL look like this. Unless they are old of course.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:57 AM
Actual quote from today’s paper:
“My whole life has been (people) saying what I can`t do. It`s seems like year in and year out I`ve been proving people wrong. Nobody gave me credit, didn`t think I`d last this long. I owe it all to Kym.”
May 25th, 2011 at 8:57 AM
How about just not going to either? That’s my plan
May 25th, 2011 at 8:58 AM
Disney is a lot of fun, especially the water park. Just make sure and hit Universal Studio Islands of Adventure.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:58 AM
For debauchery alone: New Orleans >>> NYC >>> Orlando
May 25th, 2011 at 8:58 AM
It’s all about preference. People like what they like, it’s that simple.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:59 AM
This boggles my mind. I get YOU not wanting to go to Disney, but your kids would love it.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:59 AM
I propose we get rid of the trolls that pollute NBA threads.
May 25th, 2011 at 8:59 AM
We go to Disney every year. My wife is a huge Disney lover and the kids have a blast. The free dining plan is plus as well.

Cedar Point >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Islands of Adventure
May 25th, 2011 at 9:00 AM
it boils down to the fact that you just don’t like Disney for some reason. nobody is going to Orlando for vacation outside of Disney or the incredible infrastructure setup for corporate conferences.
going on living here for three years running now, I’m going to have to agree with this. most of the Jersey Shore-type trash is confined to Miami. maybe some in Tampa. but that’s about it.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:00 AM
Thanks Capt. Obvious.

kids do not control parents. i refuse to spend momey and time, maybe the only vacation of the year, to cater to the kids. there are lots of places both parents and kids can enjoy
May 25th, 2011 at 9:02 AM
I’ve only been to Disney twice in my life and that’s plenty enough.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:02 AM
I moved back to Orlando in 2007. I’ve been to two theme parks since then.

Going to need a Chipwich at some point today.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
Now THAT’s what I call boring. Mike Brown was emasculated by LeBron James. How would he be able to handle Kobe and the pressure of L.A.? Massive fail by the Lakers if they hire him.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:06 AM

May 25th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
i don’t know, but if the kids are having a genuine blast (meaning fun w/o misbehaving), generally means the wife and I are. I try to experience things through the kids eyes. just my philosophy.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:06 AM
i refuse to spend momey and time, maybe the only vacation of the year, to cater to the kids

I’ll stick up for parts of Ohio due to family being from there. If you stay along the diagonal route through the 3 big cities and avoid the rural bumfuckness of southeastern Ohio, you’ll be good. Ohio is a good place to be except for the d-bag state troopers.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:07 AM
Disney has a beer garden with beers from all over the world. After the kids are done, take a load off.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
NO! COME BACK! I may need you in there, soldier. When a Celtic fan and Laker fan can come together in Heat hate for the good of the universe, it’s a good thing.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
Would you rather go bbq on a pontoon boat? Or rent a JET BOAT!?!?
May 25th, 2011 at 9:08 AM
I agree with this in principal, but Disney isn’t that horrible as an adult. Epcot, MGM, and Universal are all highly entertaining as an adult solid. Even Disney is fun if you can get past the cheese factor.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
you just don’t like Disney for some reason.
you nailed it. i enjoyed it the one time i was there, without kids, when they had treasure island, the milti-themed bars area, with fiance 1. was a blast, and we got shut down early by a hurricane. was 95, so whatever hurricane was in june that year
May 25th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
cuz i’m such a dick? naw, the comment just reminded me of karma’s life-advice wisdom. not an insult just amusing myself
Nah, I don’t think anyone here is a dick.
If you’re truly a good parent, you take your kids to Atlantis.
I did last year and they loved it!
May 25th, 2011 at 9:09 AM
in the three years I’ve lived in Florida, my wife and I have hit every Disney park at least once and Sea World once. we’ve enjoyed every trip there.
also, re: happy guys finish last…if this is last (makes hand motions encompassing everything around me), I’ll definitely take it.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:10 AM
VV, I’ll check in after a couple hours. Last night and today are good reasons why I enjoy not being on twitter. that would be unending annoyance.

They’re definitely fun, I haven’t ever complained once I got there. The culture just bothers me. I worked at Disney from 1996-98. The whole Branch Davidian culture of the employees is not only scaryy, but eventually leaves you wanting to stay away.

Not sure if I’ll be able to make Ballin today… work meetings. Don’t want Heat fans to think I’m avoiding though. I absolutely hate them and am disgusted at their in game preening and all that bullshit, but they have played great. Bulls had that game for the taking last night and couldn’t close. They only have themselves to blame. Hope we can take game 5!
May 25th, 2011 at 9:29 AM
If you have an iPhone, I highly suggest the game Baseball Superstars 2011. So addicted to it right now. It’s the new Angry Birds (which I still haven’t played, need to).
I don’t really follow the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys or much else actually.

If this is your stance on Bautista then why do you bother at all with baseball? Did you know that “notorious slow starter” Mark Teixeira has 12 home runs already this year? ROIDS. Did you know Matt Joyce of all people is hitting .367? ROIDS. Curtis Granderson has 16 HR? ROIDS. Why stop at Bautista? Where do you draw the line?

Yeah I kinda agree with this statement. Our citizens should be going to places with some bit of history in them. I loved going to Gettysburg when I was 13, Mannassas (sp), Richmond, obviously Philly, Boston (Lexington and Concord are cool), NY and DC. Savannah is amazing as well.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:32 AM

hilarious. vacation snobs UNITE!!
come on, man. I’ve been to all of those places and learned a lot and had a great time. you know where else I had a great time? Disney. *gasp*
this is turning into GodsOfTheGridiron’s “/nutshell Americans” rant, only directed at vacation destinations instead of movie viewing.
May 25th, 2011 at 9:40 AM
here’s the deal. we have 4 kids, so any vacation is a fortune. secondly, they won;t know what they;re missing if you dont take them. i love for them to have fun, but i don;t think disney is the only fun. they are kids. they can have fun climbning a tree, so it’s not that tough coming up with something better than climbing a tree that doesn;t involve a resort owned by a company that is the ultimate in cynical corporate behavior

If you go there in July. When I went with my family when I was around 8 we went in October and the weather was perfect. Magic Kingdom and Space Mountain sucked (I think you have to be under 8 to enjoy that), but Universal was cool.

miz, how many kids did you take to dsney when you had that great time? because i’ve already stated i had a great time there, w/o kids!
for me this was a debate about taking a precious vacation, maybe the only one you get thaat year, at a place mainly for your kids. wanting to have a good, relaxing, awe-inspiring, educational time yourself does not mean you don’t love your kids. it means the opposite–you want your kids to experience more than a hermetically sealed vacation
May 25th, 2011 at 9:44 AM
Also, I hate rollercoasters. They scare me and I get motion sickness so theme parks never did it for me.
I’d be curious what the T-Mobile girl looks like naked but she’s a case of “just because she’s on TV hot”. Her type are not particularly hard to find.
If you want petite, I’d rather get athletic with the girl from the Heineken commercial. She’s the singer from Asteroids Galaxy Tour.

The spice factor is more similar to Indian , but it doesn’t have the heaviness that most Indian cuisine has. It’s light and fresh, like Thai food. “Looks like Thai, tastes like Indian” would be a good representation.

This is a big deal if AUB lands him. The kid is good, and while a normal offense would take a while to learn, AUB’s cookie-cutter bullshit is mastered in two hours. Wilson is a pretty good QB. AUB may win 8-9 with him, as opposed to 6-7 without him.

6.) Caribbean

sngle guys and gals, here’s my karma advice: while life/happiness does not end when you have kids, especially multiple, you need to vacation/visit/do as much bucket list stuff as you can, even if it means racking up some debt. you will then never say ‘i am trapped’ when you are married with kids. i rang up plenty o debt as a single guy and no regrets. whitewater and open water kayaking, backpacking in wind river range, costa rica and mexico for two weeks apiece in alanguage immersion course, cross country road trips to florida, colorado, LA
i may be poor, but i’m rich in experience and memories

Space Mountain was my first roller coaster when I was like 7 or 8. Back then two people rode in the seat, so I was with my dad. He had to take off his glasses so he couldn’t see crap. As soon as it started I freaked and was wanting to get off. He told me to scream. Made me feel so much better. I always have a soft spot for that ride.

My brother spent a year in Italy playing hockey (Cortina, northern Italy), wish I would have had the opportunity to go visit. He loved it there.

Spain is fun. Spent 2 weeks over there as a teenager when I actually knew the language pretty well. Toledo and Sevilla were my two favorites. Madrid smells like a giant cigarette. Barcelona was pretty cool, saw a bullfight.

I’ve read several people who say Spain is the new epicenter of cooking, surpassing France. Paris is great, but you need to know where to go and what to avoid, specifically for dining out. Everything looks the same, so figuring out what is good and what isn’t can be a real bitch. If you do go, you should absolutely rent a car and drive to Normandy and then hit up Mont St-Michel.

I wish Greece wasn’t so crazy right now. I’m dying to go back.

Wife and I did our honeymoon there. Loved it. Rhodes and Mykonos were awesome, but the best place we went was actually Dubrovnik, Croatia.

My grandmother was born and raised in Greece and moved back there after my grandfather died. We spent two summers there when I was young. Haven’t been there since I was 10 but I have a ton of vivid memories of the trips. We spent time in my great grandmother’s village in the mountains. It was beautiful.

All this talk of vacations and nobody has mentioned Australia or New Zealand? Really?

Yeah I know, charming college towns surrounded by awesome golf courses suck ass. I would try and say something about Athens but I’m not an irrational dick and can recognize a good time when I see it.
