Had say BofA, Citi, AIG and Merrill failed back in ’08, you would have over 500,000 US jobs lost, and then the effects it would have on the global economy. BofA is the biggest US bank by retail deposits, Citi clears over $15 trillion a day in cash for corporations and governments each day. AIG is the largest property insurer in the world. These companies could not fail.

there’s a difference bwteeen what’s right, what’s reality and what perceptions were i think tough choices had to be made, there was a lot to tackle all at once, and the most pressing was jobs, recession, etc. just because the admin acted fastt and tough doesn;t mean it was all right or that many didn;t have a problem with anything not directly concerned with saving their home and job

TARP was enacted under Bush. But let’s not let facts get in the way of our propaganda. And the fact that if all of the banks had failed as many on the right say they should have now, we would have a worse depression than the 30s. But yeah, facts and the tea party don’t get along.

Making sure everyone has access to healthcare is about as aristocratic as it gets..

Agree. They’re saying the tornado was a mile wide. That’s fucking crazy. Did you see the destruction? People lost EVERYTHING. They can’t even get to work if they wanted to because their cars are destroyed and every piece of clothing they have is under piles of debris!

they are sending people from up there to the hospitals here because they don’t have anything up there to help them or anywhere to put people. A bunch of first responders, doctors, nurses, etc. from here went up there as well.

It screws over their front office, too, since it’s now obvious (if somehow it wasn’t before) that Reyes is gone. Try getting a trade done now unless some team REALLY thinks they need Reyes to contend at the deadline.
