But considering how ratings have dwindled for baseball in recent years, while ratings are rising for the NBA and NFL, are you surprised ESPN is investing so much into baseball?

Because it’s the single driving force for ESPN programming for four months of the year.

To be entirely fair here, I made the decision to finalize those posts and post them this weekend. No one else told me when to post them. We had an opening, I finally got inspired to sit down and write the offensive line one (research was mostly done last Sunday), and I posted it. I appreciate that you liked them.

Perhaps we could re-bump things written over the weekend, but my view is I got plenty more where that came from.

Yeah, post them again during the week. Those two things you wrote and this interview deserves more page view than they will get during the weekend. Weekend should be reserved for light fluff pieces and game discussion threads.

I love when interviewers try to push their own agendas in interviews and basically get swatted aside.

Most people realize that there is a ton of money in baseball. It is the most effectively run of the major sports. Why wouldn’t ESPN want to invest in something like this?
