Taj Gibson Dunked on Dwyane Wade [UPDATE: And Taj Gibson's Follow Dunk Wasn't Bad, Either]
Taj Gibson, two hands, in the grill of Dwyane Wade. Filthy. Violent. Most definitely the best dunk of the 2011 postseason. It could be a contender for dunk of the year, that’s how impressive it was. Here’s the gif version. [via Blazers Edge] UPDATE: After the jump, Taj Gibson’s unreal follow-dunk in the 4th quarter.
Yes, I can’t wait to write about Taj Gibson tomorrow.

decent start to the half for the Bulls. Wish Booze would have made that layup when he got fouled though.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:35 PM
Definitely not a good thing that Bosh is blowing up against the Bulls bigs.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:36 PM
Reggie Miller trying his best to ruin that moment.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:39 PM
Chicago I think it was you who said the Bulls need to improve their rebounding or second chance points or something. I feel the opposite – Noah has 8 offensive rebounds alone
May 15th, 2011 at 9:42 PM
Nah I was talking about reducing the turnovers so we don’t let them get out on the break so much… the O Rebounding has been fantastic so far, probably better than I hoped it would, so I agree with you.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:43 PM
Always enjoy Bobby shooting
May 15th, 2011 at 9:44 PM
Bobby=bibby
May 15th, 2011 at 9:44 PM
I’m assuming you meant Bibby, and yes, especially if it’s a fadeaway type shot coming off a screen.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:45 PM
That was quite a block!
May 15th, 2011 at 9:46 PM
Noah’s awesome. Somewhere, Spencer is disgusted.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:46 PM
Does Chicago get Rose a quick rest with the lead?
May 15th, 2011 at 9:49 PM
I’m hoping the worst that could happen is that Noah plays well enuff in playoffs that they can package him to Orlando for Howard
May 15th, 2011 at 9:49 PM
2 things I’ve learned from the playoffs – Rose is even better than I thought and Deng is really good on defense
May 15th, 2011 at 9:50 PM
I think Thibs will probably stick close to his regular rotations, so I would expect him to come out sometime soon and sit the beginning of the 4th.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:50 PM
Big lead rise had five off in second q.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:50 PM
Taj. Gibson. Doin’ work.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:51 PM
is there a prettier runner in the league than Rose? does anyone split double-teams like Rose? this kid is so damn fun to watch
May 15th, 2011 at 9:51 PM
deng! lead is 9!
May 15th, 2011 at 9:51 PM
That ain’t fat ass big baby lebron
May 15th, 2011 at 9:53 PM
Wade looks kind of tired, huh?
May 15th, 2011 at 9:55 PM
If Chicago hadn’t jumped at the Miami ball fakes on jump shots, I don’t know if Miami would have any free throws at all. They just do not foul when contesting drives to the hoop (at least tonight)
May 15th, 2011 at 9:55 PM
I’ll never get why the end of quarter play is for Lebron to dribble around and shoot a somewhat contested three.
May 15th, 2011 at 9:55 PM
Heat not use to a team as athletic and big as bulls. Not use to teams standing up to them, add a dumb coach and they will struggle
May 15th, 2011 at 9:59 PM
Looks like I was wrong about the rotations. D Rose is still in the game. Maybe Thibs feels like he hasn’t exerted himself as much this game?
/Asik!! what a sorry foul by Jones.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:00 PM
And now Rose is out. That’s weird.
Bulls are making some big plays right now with off. rebounding.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:01 PM
17 offensive rebounds with 9 minutes left? 10 point lead?
i like what i see.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:01 PM
Heat bench is shit
May 15th, 2011 at 10:02 PM
Bulls better save their energy.
/wanking motion
May 15th, 2011 at 10:03 PM
holy shit Ronnie Brewer!
May 15th, 2011 at 10:05 PM
If wade is tired now…I wonder if spolestra will even let big 3 take their uniforms off this week.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:07 PM
WATSON! lead is 17!
May 15th, 2011 at 10:08 PM
The Heat’s half court offense is awful to watch.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:09 PM
Deng has been fantastic tonight. Can’t quite put the Heat all the way away though.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:10 PM
Heat wasting a great bosh night, I m sure he has another one in him.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:12 PM
Rose’s step back 18-23 footer is glorious.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:12 PM
Love how Rose just shakes Chamlers with that cross and buries the easy jumper. that crossover’s so devastating
May 15th, 2011 at 10:13 PM
Yahoo Fantasy basketball team doesn’t equate to playoff wins. Need a whole team.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:17 PM
Foul called on Lebron, Lebron complains adamantly, refs confer, foul switched to Chalmers, UC boos.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:19 PM
Korver finally
May 15th, 2011 at 10:20 PM
Wade turnover, game
May 15th, 2011 at 10:20 PM
Fuck yes. I hope the Bulls can bring it like this the whole series.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:22 PM
HAHAA “Bad Teacher” movie, last scene from preview on commercial, guy arguing with kid about jordan being better than Lebron.
Teacher-”he has 6 champsionships”
kid- “is that your only arguement??”
Teacher-”THATS ALL I NEED!!!”
May 15th, 2011 at 10:24 PM
Keep shooting three, Miami.
No sign of an offense game plan.
Spoelstra is so fired after this season.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:25 PM
Damn, I wanted Gibson to run at Lebron.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:26 PM
Over ratd chant.
Stop you are going to make them cry.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:27 PM
At this point, the Bulls are just slapping the Heat around. I’m enjoying this thoroughly. I still expect a lengthy series though. Bulls really put together a great game today, and that’s obviously not going to happen every game.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:28 PM
HOLY SHIT
GIBSON
FUCK YEAH
TAKE THAT WEAK SHIT BACK TO MIAMI!@@
May 15th, 2011 at 10:28 PM
GIBSON MAY HAVE JUST HAD THE DUNK OF THE CENTURY, OH MY FUCKING JESUS!!!
May 15th, 2011 at 10:28 PM
TAJ GIBSON!
May 15th, 2011 at 10:29 PM
ESPN radio takes over our local channel and every host I heard while driving around picked Miami in either 4 or 5 games. So this is the “1″ I guess, lol.
I was thinking – how did Chicago win 60+ regular season games if they are so uncompetitive while listening to their analysis,
May 15th, 2011 at 10:30 PM
Taj Gibson is a beast
May 15th, 2011 at 10:31 PM
Bulls suck!!! They won’t even win a series!!!
/ Ballin commenters
May 15th, 2011 at 10:33 PM
gibson’s putback was ridiculous
May 15th, 2011 at 10:33 PM
Miami thought they could roll the ball out.
Bulls took it and shoved it up their ass.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:34 PM
hate how we have to wait until wednesday for game 2. huge help for the Heat.
hope the Bulls’ bench doesn’t read all the headlines and get gassed
May 15th, 2011 at 10:34 PM
Taj gibson made me spit out my water. Holy hell!
May 15th, 2011 at 10:34 PM
I was thinking – how did Chicago win 60+ regular season games if they are so uncompetitive while listening to their analysis,
First mistake was listening to ESPN radio, Bulls are a team. Heat are 3 guys and if you make them work they don’t like that. And having a dumb coach is not helping them either.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:35 PM
hahahaha…”there were some guys in the locker room crying”
Heat can go fuck themselves. Keep doing your dramatic head-bowing and crying-shtick Lebron.
/ irrational hatred for that team and the media blowing them
May 15th, 2011 at 10:36 PM
Blame oprah for having to wait til Wednesday!
/blame her and her huge cans
May 15th, 2011 at 10:36 PM
Ballin will likely be pretty feisty tomorrow since not many people are here today. I’m very happy with the dominance shown tonight, but I’ll anxious to see if the same team shows up for Game 2. If so, I think the Bulls will have a great shot at winning the series sooner than expected. Still, don’t want to overreact to a great game 1 performance at home. Glad they did work tonight, but you know, “it’s a long series” and all that.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:37 PM
hope the Bulls’ bench doesn’t read all the headlines and get gassed
Why? Is Juwan Howard or Ilgauskas going to make them pay for it?
May 15th, 2011 at 10:37 PM
Miami only attempted 15 free throws and about 6 of those were from ball fakes on long jumpers. Great job of playing defense without fouling by the Bulls.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:39 PM
Ernie- “Can Heat fix rebound difference between now and Wednesday?”
Charles-”Not unless they get Dwight Howard.”
HAHAHA
May 15th, 2011 at 10:41 PM
It’ll be the same 5 people who keep saying Rose is overrated and throwing up “10-30″ numbers trying to be funny but looking more moronic by the day as the Bulls get closer and closer to the Finals.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:42 PM
I will say I thought that was a good refereed game – I can’t even really remember who the referees were so they must have been good.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:47 PM
Kenny- “Miami needs to run offensive plays.”
Thank you
May 15th, 2011 at 10:48 PM
You’re gonna need a Taj Gibson tag, TBL. Benchmob, baby!
May 15th, 2011 at 10:50 PM
I still don’t understand how a 6-4 Wade thought he could block a PF rising up at full speed.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:52 PM
Who are the Heat have sing the National Anthem? Ricky Martin?

May 15th, 2011 at 10:54 PM
Also, I said it when the Celtics series was going on, but that was not the real Celtics team, so I didn’t really take the Heat beating them to be that impressive. If they beat Chicago then I’ll be impressed, but I see the Bulls taking it in 6. Chicago has a hell of a lot of depth.
May 15th, 2011 at 10:58 PM
I don’t know what the fuck Whitlock has against Jim Cornelison, but it’s starting to piss me off. Calling him a lounge singer is incredibly disrespectful and a bit disgusting considering that Cornelison has dedicated his life to singing. Also shows that Whitlock doesn’t know shit, because he’s a great opera singer.
May 15th, 2011 at 11:05 PM
Also shows that Whitlock doesn’t know shit, because he’s a great opera singer.
He defended Mariotti awhile back also. He’s on a roll.
May 15th, 2011 at 11:06 PM
Chicago – Whitlock just says that because he knows it pisses the Chicago people off. And he’s all about pissing people off.
May 15th, 2011 at 11:09 PM
So the crowd for the #1 seed is chanting overrated? that’s just weird.
May 15th, 2011 at 11:13 PM
tgeorge- Chicago always had a inferiority complex
May 15th, 2011 at 11:20 PM
Go Bulls
May 15th, 2011 at 11:35 PM
I still expect a lengthy series though
everyone’s falling over themselves to say this. why? what did you see tonight that makes you think the heat win more than 1? except ‘the bulls can’t play this well and the heat can’t play this badly?’
bosh being the heat’s leading scorer with 18 and 15 from wade/james is a good plan. bulls bench, multiple guys nailing 3-pters, rose, overall defense…..you must think bulls will play like they did against pacers/hawks eventually…..it’s matchups!
May 15th, 2011 at 11:41 PM
Let’s go Bulls. Beat the Fakes
May 15th, 2011 at 11:43 PM
holy crap, just saw that yankees-red sox game is still going on. Started at 8. It is now 11:42. Serious question. I’m really not trying to bait baseball fans. How do you guys follow this sport for 162 games per year? I realize not all games are 3 hours and 45 minutes long. But it seems like most of the game goes on for 3 hours, at least.
May 15th, 2011 at 11:45 PM
Why?
the Heat ARE overrated. 57 wins for a team with 2 HOF players in their prime and a woman who is was a All-Star every year?
May 15th, 2011 at 11:46 PM
One of the many reasons I’m not into baseball (or cricket). If there is no time limit on the game, I ain’t watching it.
May 16th, 2011 at 12:00 AM

undoubtedly too long, i have to believe only diehards or purists/scorers watch every minute. who has the time to regularly spend 3 hours in front of TV?
Radio is better, as you can move about, but still that’s a long time to pay attention to anything, and was even before our ADD existences
still, you give me tix in the first five rows near the plate, i am watching each pitch, for safety’s sake (unless behind net) and cuz it’s so cool being that close
May 16th, 2011 at 1:14 AM
I’m too drunk for a Sunday night.
Go Bulls!!
/Hopes they didn’t blow their defensive load tonight.
May 16th, 2011 at 1:51 AM
Who said Wade isn’t humble?
May 16th, 2011 at 2:50 AM
Here’s the playoff prediction thread: http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2011/04/15/your-nba-playoff-predictions-go-here/
I’m an OKC homer but I’d like to highlight Jay V’s predictions. Note he also strongly predicted a Heat sweep, or at least win in 5 games.
For the record I think the Mavs should beat the Thunder. But in the spirit of being a complete homer, I’ll say Thunder in 6.
May 16th, 2011 at 9:40 AM
All Yanks-Sox games are at least that long.
