Here’s a Series of Photos of Tom Brady and Gisele at a Swanky Ball in Manhattan

Tom Brady and Gisele: The quarterback and his model wife went to a Fashion Ball in NYC Monday night. They go every year. This year, Brady opted for the long, slick look. No word if he danced or not. I didn’t see any other athletes in this slideshow, but I’m sure he had fun chatting up all the actresses. [Images via Getty]

Does anyone else find it annoying when people say “far and few between” instead of “few and far between?” My boss says this saying wrong on a daily basis and it makes me nuts.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:04 PM
I miss the Tom Brady in a hat posts
May 4th, 2011 at 1:05 PM
That second picture makes me laugh. She’s doing this stupid model “kiss me” pose and Tom just looks confused and slightly irritated.
Also, I know Gisele had a hair person help her get ready. Could he/she not suggest a different styling option for Tom’s long hair?
May 4th, 2011 at 1:06 PM
I don’t think I’ve ever noticed anyone saying “far and few between.” Is that a common mistake or is it just your boss that does it?
May 4th, 2011 at 1:08 PM
I’m with Stark. I’ve never heard that before and hope to never hear it again.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:08 PM
I’ve heard a few people do it but not that often. Probably because the instances it can be used are few and far between.
/see what I did there?
May 4th, 2011 at 1:09 PM
far and few between? never heard that one. Have you tried a curse filled rant, right in his face? That may convey the message you want to send clearly enough, and it’s definitely in your skillset.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:10 PM
Guy sure gets a lot of press for being on the downside of his career. Step aside, Tawmy. It’s Jay’s time.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:10 PM
I’ve never heard that before
I know I’ve heard/seen some very similar bunglings of common phrases like that, but none spring immediately to mind.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:11 PM
Well, what are you waiting for? Kick him in the jimmy.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:12 PM
This blond with big cans I know always says “play it by year.” She’s a tremendous moron.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:12 PM
My boss uses “for all intentional purposes” instead of “for all intents and purposes”. Drives me crazy.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:14 PM
You’re on quite a grammar kick this midday.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:14 PM
Remember when I said for all intensive purposes? Yeah, that was embarrassing.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:14 PM
“All intensive purposes” bothers me a little bit
May 4th, 2011 at 1:15 PM
Fantastic handle.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:15 PM
LOL. This is like ‘for all intensive purposes’ or writing ‘would of’ instead of ‘would’ve’. Its how I know I’m dealing with an idiot.

Well, it appears I’m not the only moron. That makes me happy.

“swanky balls” are fucking disgusting.
use that money for something more worthwile.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:17 PM
What does play it by ear even mean though? To the Google Machine!
May 4th, 2011 at 1:19 PM
Well… that’s not terribly exciting. I was hoping for more. Boooooo.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:19 PM
heh…i said “swanky balls.”
May 4th, 2011 at 1:22 PM
Speaking of word origins, I just learned about this one the other day. This is where we get “unraveling a mystery” from:
“Clue is a variant spelling of the now obsolete clew ‘ball of thread’, and its current application to ‘that which helps to solve a problem’, which originated in the early 17th century, is based on the notion of using (like Theseus in the Minotaur’s labyrinth) a ball of thread to show one the way out of an intricate maze one has entered. Clew itself goes back to Old English cliwan or cleowan, which may be related to claw.”
May 4th, 2011 at 1:22 PM
Did you go to Google Japan or something?
May 4th, 2011 at 1:23 PM
Well… that’s not terribly exciting. I was hoping for more.
in the 8th century BC, an ancient, barely known tribe in South America used to cut off the ears of their vanquished opponents, and make whistles out of them.
/like that?
May 4th, 2011 at 1:24 PM
Tom’s hair stylist would of been best off playing it by year because For all intensive purposes their not the most attractive couple when one of them has a semen-slicked mop on top and the other.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:24 PM
Pretty sure that pics of Brady’s long, slicked locks are more gruesome than the unreleased death photos of OBL.

hey, somebody with kids who are preschoolers, tell me the most awesome toy your kids have that’s active. This lady wants to buy Nolan an expensive present, and I already do nothing but buy him stuff.
Something awesome.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:28 PM
try and make instead of try to make
let;s get untracked

I demand this be the preferred explanation of this metonym. It is far more intriguing.

all of the lyrics to Big Balls by ac//dc, but specifically…my balls are always bouncing to the left and to the right. it’s my belief that my big balls should be held every night

You know, I get why this is ultimately the decision because the folks who don’t believe he’s dead won’t be swayed by a photograph. Still, I want to see them.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:32 PM
dirt, we don;t have a Wii but we used to (ps3 now), but preschoolers are plenty old enough to handle that motion shit and they make plenty o games for them. they have a drawing accessory i’ve seen advertised too

AK Centerfire:
I almost had to sit out a football game in high school because I brandished one of those as I was driving by an elementary school kid, while wearing our Friday football team uniform. Big trouble for clayton on that one. Many detentions.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:33 PM
I have a feeling they’ll get out somehow anyway
May 4th, 2011 at 1:33 PM
Likewise
May 4th, 2011 at 1:36 PM
It’ll be a guy with a bullet in his head, unless you’re tinfoiling it and demand proof since you don’t believe he’s dead there’s nothing to accomplish by releasing it
May 4th, 2011 at 1:37 PM
Gotta think that would be even worse than releasing them, right? Then it becomes a national security issue. At this point, as much as I want to see them, I prefer they remain concealed since that’s the decision that was ultimately reached.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:37 PM
dirt, we don;t have a Wii but we used to
maybe for Christmas. No more being cooped up, hopefully. I was thinking an outside toy.

Another tweet on the OBL pics:
@SkyNewsBreak Photograph of Bin Laden’s body reportedly shows large open head wound and ‘brain matter’.
I can understand not wanting to show that.

I was a pretty big dick a lot of the time. I also got in a lot of trouble. I was very recognizable in my town full of mostly mexicans.

How about an in-ground pool?
May 4th, 2011 at 1:50 PM
How about an in-ground pool?
while that would be nice, that’s a little pricy for this lady.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:53 PM
I still shudder at the immense amount of maintenance and money that went into keeping our pool swimmable. Glad we don’t live there anymore.
