Ohio State Fans Chased Kirk Herbstreit Out of Ohio, and Now, They’ve Chased Him Off Twitter
Kirk Herbstreit: Remember how the troglodytes in Columbus chased former Ohio State QB Kirk Herbstreit out of Ohio earlier this year? They’ve now chased him off twitter. Herbstreit, who was pretty active on twitter recently, suddenly deleted his account yesterday. He went on 1045 The Zone yesterday and talked about the perils of social media: “The day I moved from Columbus I decided to pick up twitter and get involved … then, when things broke down on Monday … I haven’t been on for two or three days … for me to have to sit and defend if I love Ohio State is the most asinine thing … I’m going to stop engaging with a lot of the fans for awhile.”

that is a very funny line. reminds me of something mr burns would say.

fake ass Buckeye!
April 29th, 2011 at 12:37 PM
Upset of the year that duffy didnt write this
April 29th, 2011 at 12:37 PM
To me, a tOSU alum, these are the things that make me cringe.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:38 PM
I read this as “I’m taking my ball and running home…to ABC where I’ll defend Ohio State during broadcasts of other games and Brent is too busy wondering if he’s going to cover the spread to stop me”.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:39 PM
Watching the Cam Newton presser. I really hope he blows. CAR will suck for another 5 years if he misses.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:40 PM
Hasnt left for vacation yet?
April 29th, 2011 at 12:40 PM
Have we jacked a thread for hockey yet? We can’t find it and I need to bitch about how right I was that the Preds can’t get any quality possessions.
/TGF Pekka

This is funny, because Spencer contends that many OSU fans don’t like Herby as he’s a “fake Buckeye.”
April 29th, 2011 at 12:42 PM
WWoS
I didn’t watch much of the game. It seemed like the Nucks were getting all the PP’s early and Rinne channeled his inner Hasek.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:42 PM
You mean the “much deserved” vacation?
April 29th, 2011 at 12:42 PM
His name is Spencer Dick for good reason.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:43 PM
You better say it, brother. Such an unlikeable shithead.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:44 PM
I don’t know if he realized it when he moved, but after UTenn fans, when you go to bars in Nashville, you see Alabama, Florida, and then (surprisingly) Ohio State fans. They are all over the place. Fucking Terminix couldn’t get rid of them.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:44 PM
They going to be the first NFL team to hold up play call signs on the sidelines?
April 29th, 2011 at 12:44 PM
WWOS, this is a good read on last night’s game.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:44 PM
Herbstreit really has it so much tougher than most “celebrities” on twitter with the constant e-abuse.
/No, he doesn’t.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:44 PM
Jon Gruden obviously made him think way too hard. It’s tiring.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:46 PM
Cam has mentioned the phrase “caught me off guard” twice. I bet we hear that a lot after CAR gets drubbed 11 games next year.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:47 PM
More or less, though I don’t think the PPs did it. Seemed more like the Preds couldn’t get a single even strength shot/possession for the first 50 minutes, with two guys chasing the puck and no one to center it to. The one goal Pekka gave up was a 3 on 1 or something where the defender picked the wrong guy… never had a chance. He was impressive, but Nashville really needs a 40 goal scorer, and I don’t think Erat/Fisher (or Sullivan/Legwand/Geoffriyon) is gonna be that guy.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:47 PM
Why the hell is Alain Vigneault a Jack Adams finalist? His team was expected to win the Presidents Trophy.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:47 PM
The Gruden camp was awesome when he couldn’t name a long play and said we use numbers. Fucking hilarious. I can’t wait when he’s asked to read a paragraph pre-snap and his head explodes.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:48 PM
Hey Geeez… is Ward the worst player in the NHL? I’m beginning to think that slow skaters with poor puck-handling and a penchant for turnovers and taking the wrong angles don’t have a long future in the league.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:48 PM
Jon Gruden obviously made him think way too hard
this asshole needs a muzzle, or to get off the air. the small amount of nuggets you get from him is not worth him looking like he is shitting while he spews useless praise.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:48 PM
Couldn’t even give Gruden a play call from Auburn. I can’t wait to enjoy in his failures.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:49 PM
Ive always liked Joel Ward. He fuckin kills the Wings.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:50 PM
didn’t he say that a couple times during the Gruden deal as well? I’m starting to wonder what doesn’t catch him off guard.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:50 PM

the guys is vince young. its so similar, its stunning.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:52 PM
$180K, that’s agreed upon to weeks beforehand
April 29th, 2011 at 12:52 PM
I hope Cam turns into a stud. Officially backlashing against the backlash.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:52 PM
He throws the ball better than Young, but I do agree that they mirror each other a good bit. I do think Cam has a much better head on his shoulders than does Young. VY has way too much crazy in him for my taste.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:53 PM
PS, I do think Suter played well from what I saw, and had a good play to stop a goal. I just hate all our forwards. It may take some breaking out by Legwand, who had a couple dumb plays last night, to have a chance.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:53 PM
just don’t ask him to count it. may catch him off guard.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:55 PM
Come on, guys. He has no clue any of that stuff was going on. He just wanted to play for the great program that is Auburn “University.”
/Ritty’d
April 29th, 2011 at 12:55 PM
I remember a “youre putting me on the spot”
April 29th, 2011 at 12:56 PM
Cool, then he should be a lock for rookie of the year.
/VY’s better

I’m not against him (beyond now QBing the Kitties). I just wonder whether or not he’ll ever get the time to be anything more than he was.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:57 PM
and why should herbie ‘love’ OSU? it’s been how long since he was an athlete/student there? two decades? he doesn;t have to defend shit. i don;t know his track record on being objective about buckeyes but regardless, no alum in the media should be expected by anyone to ‘love’ his alma mater
April 29th, 2011 at 12:57 PM
Cool, then he should be a lock for rookie of the year.
/VY’s better
that was bullsh. vy is horrid, dont let 2005 cloud your judgement
April 29th, 2011 at 12:58 PM
I like Herbie, nice guy and calls it like he sees it. shame that this is happening to him.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:58 PM
That was an embarrassing vote, wasn’t that the same season the Chargers stuck McNeill at LT and didn’t give it a second thought while winning 14 games?
April 29th, 2011 at 12:59 PM
VY could wipe out Clown’s family and laugh about it to his face, and before he was taken to prison, Clown would ask Vince to sign his Sports Illustrated commemorative issue from 2005.
April 29th, 2011 at 1:00 PM
nah, TBL loves that word.
April 29th, 2011 at 1:01 PM
I like him, too, actually. He has a slight smugness to him that rears its ugly head at times, but I like his stuff for the most part.
April 29th, 2011 at 1:01 PM
Miz, I see you survived the Locker pick. Good for you.
April 29th, 2011 at 1:04 PM
The first two periods last night were all Canucks – and Rinne. Such a different game from the ones the Canucks and Hawks were playing, but not at all unexpected. Sedins have to get on track here though – enough is enough with the lack of scoring.
April 29th, 2011 at 1:05 PM
I guess. I don’t know that I’m upset or happy with it either way. the Titans needed a qb and they got one. he just may suck really really bad. the Titans also need a lot more too. it probably would have been better to get somebody like Nick Fairley at 6 and then wait until the second round to take the best qb left. hell, Locker may have still been there by then too.
the good thing going for the Titans is that the Texans and Jags are in the same division.
April 29th, 2011 at 1:07 PM
Miz, you’re a Titans fan? I don’t actually hate the Locker pick, and think with the right coaching, and situation, he could be good.
/not sure Titans have the right coaching
April 29th, 2011 at 1:08 PM
The Titans just better be damn sure that they think Locker was the best QB in the draft. If so, no use taking the chance and waiting. I do think they should have moved back a few picks, because I’m sure someone wanted Fairley or Smith, and would have given a 2nd rounder for that privilege.
April 29th, 2011 at 1:11 PM
yep. I’m a huge Tennessee honk: Vols in everything, Titans, Grizzlies, Tigers (when they’re not playing the Vols), and fuck Vandy.
April 29th, 2011 at 1:11 PM
the only thing wrong withh the locker pick is that it was about 50 picks too high. when you have other needs, and see what was still available, even ‘best athlete available’ would have been better
April 29th, 2011 at 1:13 PM
So, where is DaQuan gonna go?
Hope he is still around at #38
April 29th, 2011 at 1:23 PM
I want him to go to the Bengals, but apparently we’re dead set on taking a QB, specifically Andy Dalton. Fuck, that should’ve been Christian Ponder.
April 29th, 2011 at 6:01 PM
fuck all of you.
April 29th, 2011 at 10:17 PM
is Ward the worst player in the NHL?
Not as long as John Scott is around.
