Lew Alcindor chooses UCLA (1965).
Then he converts to Islam and only years after that he becomes a spokesman for a major beer company.
Not really sure what I’m saying here, I just like the incongruity of it all.

Great coach.

Enjoyed these two. The short shorts add in the Olajuwon link is great.

I’m pumped. How far do Mallet and Bowers fall?
April 29th, 2011 at 4:08 PM
[Johnny Carson voice] I did not know that.

Thus altering the history of women’s tennis. Make joke about how you don’t care about women’s tennis but Seles was a freaking machine out there. She was dominating everyone and when she left Graf cleaned up. This sick fuck actually succeeded in his goal to take her out. Twisted.

I’m into it, but i can’t watch the coverage for longer than a fwe minutes. I’m interested in the players that are picked and trades, not the waiting.
so i update my phone every few minutes and check the results while i watch something entertaining.

I’m unreasonably jacked about it, but I’m like that every year. However, if Denver grabs Stephen Paea at #36, I think I win the commenter draft.
April 29th, 2011 at 4:24 PM
I am with ya. Hoping one of: Ras I Dowling, Curtis Brown, Marcus Gilbert, Greg Little or Ben Ijalana fall to the Steelers at 63, but I am doubtful.
What position you looking for the Jets to go in the 3rd?
April 29th, 2011 at 4:25 PM
Seahawks already screwed up my 2nd round pick by drafting him in the 1st round.
April 29th, 2011 at 4:25 PM
Doubt Dowling slips past the Lions and I don’t really believe he will make it to them at 44.
April 29th, 2011 at 4:26 PM
You took Taiwan Jones, no?

nope. fucking love it. gotta grab some grub, rush back home after work to get my ass on the couch with beer in hand by 6pm start time.

Penguins Defenseman Peter Taglianetti uses peanut butter to help an injured left ankle
There were always constant jokes that Jagr was rubbing peanut butter on his groin during one of his numerous groin injuries. Jagr also famously said “you people wouldn’t understand, you don’t have groins” when asked about his rehab one day.
am i the only one into the NFL draft? I’m kind of excited about tonight
Oh I’m fired up. I love the draft. I’m about to head to the bar now to watch with a friend. Watching the same shitty teams make the same shitty draft mistakes never gets old.

If Bowers falls to the Vikings at 43 (not happening) I will be pumped. But it’s not happening. Definitely. And this is not at all a reverse jinx.
April 29th, 2011 at 4:46 PM
Very excited. Even talked myself into Andy Dalton.
April 29th, 2011 at 4:48 PM
With the second 2nd, yes. First second was Paea. If I get them both right, I win this blog.

Can’t wait to watch Polamalu intercept his under thrown passes to AJ Green.
April 29th, 2011 at 5:04 PM
I have a feeling Polamalu will be past his prime in a year or 2. I’m not worried

Seattle Seahawks trade the 2nd pick to Dallas, who selects Tony Dorsett (
Dallas would get getting killed on the internet in 1977. The #14, and three more picks inside of the 54th, for just one guy?
The best part was that the Seahawks took all time legendary guard Steve August with that 14 pick. He’s a guy so renowned, his name doesn’t even appear in the slot at pfr.com. Seriously, click it.
April 29th, 2011 at 5:43 PM
With the second 2nd, yes. First second was Paea. If I get them both right, I win this blog.
you’re in the running, for sure. Jersey finishes up at 100%. If Arizona takes Brooks Reed, then Smallie Bigs also wins.
I can’t win, my 2nd round guy is way gone. Brawny Tom can’t win, his guy’s gone. The Buffalo guy’s QB is gone. BSanders can win if the Colts take Quinton Carter.
So there’s really three guys in the running, by my count.
I think you have to get Taiwan Jones right too, to declare any sort of victory though.

In the middle of the Rockets’ run to the NBA finals, Olajuwon has warrant issued for his arrest after misdemeanor assault on convenience store clerk
maybe he tried the boob swipe, but in that era, there were no credit cards, so he had to reach in to make his change.
