Atlanta Falcons Mortgage the Future to Trade Up to the 6th Pick to Draft Julio Jones
Julio Jones is an Atlanta Falcon. In a stunner, the Atlanta Falcons traded picks 27, 59, 124 and their 2012 1st and 4th round picks to the Cleveland Browns to draft Alabama WR Julio Jones. Overrated Matt Ryan now has an All-American receiver to pair with Roddy White. The Falcons should be explosive next year. They better be. Giving up 2 first round picks, a 2nd, a 4th and a 7th is absurd.

Super Bowl or bust.
And it’s not like their defense was what let them down last year. Right?

Clearly the Titans know something we don’t.

Are they trying to run the option?

I like to join the chorus of people saying Blaine Gabbert sucks. Saw him play in college a couple of times and NFL never crossed my mind. Trying some Akili Smith style draft voodoo and it’s not working this time.

pick 27 is way, way back there. It’s basically a 2nd rounder. So are the later picks this year.

Has Spencer weighed in on this deal yet?
There is a Jake Locker post for the 4 Titans fans who visit the site

next year’s # 1 draft choice will probably be in the high 20′s too.
It’s not that bad of a deal. It’s not a good deal, but it’s not as awful as you think.

i like it.

dirt…that’s a fine spot to have an extra 1st rounder. the browns have a lot of holes and need depth and having those types of picks work out well.
provided the browns are in the top 10 again next year, they’ll still have a lotta picks in that late 1st/high 2nd round. that’s nice.

what’s not to like, Spencer?
how often do teams get that many picks for a WR?!?!?!?
April 28th, 2011 at 9:07 PM
agreed completely.

I like it but I’ll be hammered by the time the Browns pick at 27
