Oh that’s nonsense. The Superdome had many sellouts and the Saints were greatly supported in good times and in bad. Go back 20 years to when the Saints were in the NFC West and fighting the Niners and you’ll see the Superdome was one of the most feared/hated places to play because of the noise level.

I know many people who are lifetime season ticket holders — who never missed a game; not even after Katrina, when they had to stand for 3 hours to get into Tiger Stadium. People who’ve traveled and supported through over 30 years of shit for the 10 years of good.

Same here. When he turned around Pitt he had to play that slow half court style because it best suited the talent he had. When he was at Northern Arizona before Pitt his teams were more known for a fast up tempo style and 3pt shooting. I just assumed he adjusted his coaching to the talent.
For some reason he never changed his style from Pitt once he got to UCLA. And like you pointed out he had a shit ton of talent. Maybe he just got comfortable in that style and because he had his most success with it he was afraid to change?
Dixon runs a similar style to Howland at Pitt. However on Dixon’s most talented team(The elite 8 team that lost to Nova)he ran a much more uptempo style than Howland ever ran at Pitt/UCLA. Dixon at least appears willing to adapt while Howland hasn’t changed much since he started at Pitt.

I said my opinion of Howland’s coaching has gone down with every NBA playoff game I watch. How crap did UCLA have talent – Love, Westbrook, Collison, Holiday, Ariza, Afalo is there more??? Wow.

I thought he played low scoring games as the only way he could win with the talent he had, shit he should have turned them lose, I think one elite 8 game against Memphis was like 55-41

I’m not saying the West is better than the East but it sure is deeper. The first round for the East top seeds is so much easier than in the West.

To be fair, the East’s top teams are better than the West’s.
