Speak for yourself. People who eat at McDonald’s ought to be run over, and people who fight in public ought to be run over, and that’s all that really can be said.

Does IPFW count as a mid-major? I suppose so, but it’s on the lower end of the scale. Does that means Fife’s next move to a better mid-major or a major program?

She also can be funny sometimes; usually not when she’s on the Daily Show though.

She’s a bi-racial nerd goddess, who used the nerd heat she garnered from co-hosting G4′s Attack of the Show to score a role on an appallingly awful sitcom. She’s like Jenny McCarthy, only funnier with smaller boobs but a better-looking face. And the audience she catered to was probably less socially gifted but also more tolerable to be in a room with.

you forgot how laugh-haltingly-bad she is on The Daily Show. And how she completely sabotaged the career of Morgan Webb by being hotter, wearing less clothes, and more willing to kiss other girls on G4.

Gaga is actually a smart woman (man?) – she markets herself very well and caters to a specific group of people but I can see how its easy to hate on a public figure. Point is, she’s not a Britney Spears type of artist, she actually has some sense and awareness. It also helps that her music is super catchy. She’s very articulate if you read about her.
Man, what’s with people fighting at fast food lots? I’m sorry, but I think people who get into fights over these kinda things (re: nothing) are fucking retarded. Ditto for people who get into fights to try to prove themselves or cause “someobody talked shit”. If you’re a grown man and filming fights at McDonald’s while yelling “yeahhh! beat dat bitch up!” (like that other moron did in the pregnant lady fight), someone needs to give you a slap. Not positive, but I think it depends on the job. If it’s something where you have access to company cash/funding or a company credit card, they may be able to. In any case, if you have filed for bankruptcy or have defaulted on anything, that’ll pop up.
April 21st, 2011 at 9:44 AM
Depends on the job. My brother was a fed insurance fraud investigator (he could carry a gun on a plane) and they interviewed me before they hired him. Nothing exciting, is he a terrorist, does he hate the government, blah blah.

I see. Youre saying he deserves to get clocked and have phantom penalties called on him. Awesome!
Ha. That’s not what I said. I’m saying he has a reputation as a diver, which is well deserved, so referees typically don’t give him the benefit of the doubt. They don’t like to be shown up.
Bigger issue for the Flyers is the health of Carter, he drives a lot of the offense.

My brother was a fed insurance fraud investigator (he could carry a gun on a plane) and they interviewed me before they hired him. Nothing exciting, is he a terrorist, does he hate the government, blah blah.
I wonder how many times, in the thousands of times that question has been asked, that the respondent answered: “yeah, that guy is a terrorist, and he hates the goverment.” Sort of like back in the day, when the ticket agent at the airport asks if you’ve let your bag out of sight, etc. Like anyone would say yes so they could go through the hassle of having it screened extra.

April 21st, 2011 at 9:49 AM
Yes, yes he does.
One thing I’ve noticed in the playoffs so far is a HUGE bias toward the home team. The tying goal last night by the ‘Ning came after Ryan Malone tripped a Pens player attempting to shoot, then after play moved to the other end they cross-checked Niskanen to the ice and Lovejoy into Fleury while Bergenheim got the rebound.
Last night’s game also included three of the worst goaltender interference calls I’ve seen (two that were called – one each way – that weren’t, and one that wasn’t called against TB).

April 21st, 2011 at 9:56 AM
One thing I’ve noticed in the playoffs so far is a HUGE bias toward the home team.
I’m not sure it’s that or whether it’s more of a lack consistency across officials combined with a clear message from the league office.
Some referee’s call the games similar to a regular season game, while others put the whistles away. See Rangers vs. Capitals last night as an example, the only penalties in OT were delay of game and too many men. There could easily have been a couple more calls.
In terms of the Pens/TB game, I watched substantially all of it, didn’t look like there was much of an advantage to either team. St Louis could have been called for the cross check on Niskanen, but very few refs are ever going to make that call in that situation.

I could go on a rant that would take 3 hours, but I’m sure most don’t want to be bored with that. I just don’t really think that airport security makes going to the airport/flying any appreciably safer for the hassle you have to go through. If someone wants to do bad things, they’re going to find a way to do it. What’s to stop something like what happened in that Russian airport from happening here. There’s literally hundreds of people that wait in line for security at the ATL airport. Some terrorist could easily just fill a wine bottle with plastic explosives, get up to the security checkpoint where they inform him that he has to throw it out. He then dumps it, clears security, hops on a plane to his country, and 30 minutes later his little bomb goes off and kills hundreds. Also, have you seen most TSA agents?

as someone who reads the intel reports from airports, TSA agents do a pretty good job at finding threats.
it’s a shitty job. they don’t make much and you deal with people on edge all day long. you’re expected to tell them bad news most of the time, which makes them hate you even more for making their flying experience such a hassle. cut em some slack.
the airport could detect 100% of all threats if everyone was willing to make sacrifices. however, because everyone is so sensitive about their privacy/time/health (rightfully so) certain sacrifices are made to specific risks are accepted.
