MLB to Take Over Los Angeles Dodgers
According to TMZ, Major League Baseball has boldly decided to launch an investigation into the finances of the L.A. Dodgers, and Bud “Bird” Selig made an announcement that he will appoint someone — likely an Adonis with unforgettable eyebrows — to “oversee the business and the day-to-day operations of the Club” due to his “deep concerns regarding the finances and operations of the Dodgers.” The move is understandable considering owner Frank McCourt, who’s more overwhelmed than Bruce Pickins covering Jerry Rice, had arranged for a $30 million loan from FOX. Aaaaand here comes the pretzels ceremonial banging of the plastic toys. [via TMZ]

You have sunk below the deepest layer of prehistoric frog shit at the bottom of a New Jersey scum swamp.

I don’t know what YYSA is referring to there but this is glorious. My favorite sentence in TBL history. I don’t know why Bruce Pickens is my definition of bust but he is IT. Over Leaf and JaWalrus. Back to the topic at hand:
Fuck you, McCourts, I couldn’t be more glad to see you go

How do you even go about getting a $30 Million dollar loan?

I was referring to the Dodgers organization using a line from The War of the Roses.

I don’t know, how do you buy the second most valuable franchise in baseball on credit from the people you’re buying it from? Who, btw, happens to be the same font for that $30M loan.

Excellent. I’ve been meaning to rewatch that. I’ve had it on my DVR for about 3 months

It probably helps to have balls big enough to try and buy the Red Sox with a plan for tearing down Fenway. Same guy, different cockamamie plan

If you have to ask, you can’t afford the vig.

I’ll just never get over the fact that they had separate houses for laundry, and swimming. Both apart from the place they usually lived.

I’ve always hated the Jenks signing for the Sox, but I’m starting to think that Wheeler/Jenks signings are to experiment with putting a really good reliever as a versatile “high leverage situation guy”. I do like the idea of Bard coming in when needed the most. Still don’t like the idea of Jenks coming to start any inning though…

And to think I actually shook Frank McCourts hand.

As a Giants fan I started out laughing when I heard this… but it’s actually kind of sad. I mean, I don’t want a rivalry with the West coast version of the Brewers…
April 20th, 2011 at 6:50 PM
Well its actually the Rockies that will be a rival.

Any jokes about home games in San Juan?
April 20th, 2011 at 7:37 PM
The Dodgers are an absolute disgrace.
I’m still laughing…I would rather the Dodgers fist fuck themselves into irrelevancy – which they seem to be perfectly willing to do – and allow the Giants to gain a foothold in California, which they’re well on their way to doing.
I guess I’d feel worse if it this was happening to people of a reputable place, but Los Angeles is a soulless cesspool.
