Atlanta on fire entering the playoffsWell, there goes any chance that Alex Smith signs in Atlanta and replaces Matt Ryan someday. Roddy White took to Twitter yesterday afternoon to give his thoughts on Alex Smith of the San Francisco 49ers. “Why is the 49ers wasting their time with alex smith they need to move on better yet try to get luck next year would be good for them. 2 coaches have been fired for tht mans performance.”

Alex Smith disappeared for three hours after spraining his thumb while trying to type a response, then came back with a barrage of tweets, most of which were non-sensical. Every tenth one, though, was funny-brilliant and has convinced some he will eventually catch on to this Twitter thing. I kid, I kid. Smith hasn’t been as bad recently (last year, he was inconsistent but flashed at times), but he’s been there for six years. I would think White’s opinion isn’t exactly out of the norm.

Oh, and Roddy is back this morning: “Ok 49ers fans I’m sorry I take tht back alex smith is a great players and the 49ers should sign him to a 5 year deal btw I don’t have anything against alex smith wht so ever he is a great guy.”
