I don’t think that would still be enough to cover the 15.4 billion in farm subsidies paid out last year. Try to take those away and you’ll see tractors on 1600 Pennsylvania.

i don’t think we’ll see tractors when the biggest beneficiaries of these subsidies are corporate farms that use the gvt money to buy smaller, independent farms.

but, regardless, why pay farmers to leave land unused? why not use that money to grow hemp? everyone involved would profit off of that, one would assume.
