Gloria James: Multiple reports out of Miami claim that the mother of Heat superstar LeBron James was arrested at the Fontainebleau hotel in South Beach early Thursday morning. According to TV station WSVN-7, it was a misdemeanor assault charge. [UPDATE: According to Radar, Gloria James scuffled with a valet parking attendant at 4:57 am.] The last time she was arrested, in 2006, she was charged with DWI and famously kicked out the side window of a police cruiser after being cuffed and put in the car. my mother is a rock…but while i realize my dad will always be there and love me, i have a dark pit in my soul that drives me to make sure i never end up like he did. he was around for my childhood, but he was so emotionally distant with his own issues with depression and other things that, if he wasn’t physically around, i wouldn’t have had a father growing up.

My mom got remarried to a guy who treats her great and was more than fine to me and my sister. But he was/is older and had already raised two grown kids by the time they were married. It’s just…different. I’m envious of people who had both parents growing up all their life. Things could always be worse, though.

It is, but it is not the norm. Most parents split now and ones that stay together are not always great to each other and their kids. My parents of course have their moments but they will be 39 years strong in August and without their support I would definitely be facedown in a gutter somewhere.
