Jereme Richmond Declares For NBA Draft, Illinois Fans Not Impressed With Bruce Weber
Jereme Richmond, a freshman forward at Illinois, has declared for the NBA Draft. Richmond missed the final two games of the Illinois’ season after being suspended for breaking team rules. This is a major blow to coach Bruce Weber because Richmond was supposed to be a player he would build the program around. Instead, Richmond is one-and-done and the fans are calling for Weber’s head.
On March 29, Weber said that he expected Richmond back with the team next season.
“He’s part of the program,” Weber said. “If he makes the progress he’s supposed to, he’ll be there.”
“He’s kind of like our team,” Weber said. “He had some shining moments, really showed well, showed like the kid can be special. He also had to mature, grow up and be more consistent in all areas of his life.”
Richmond will do his growing in the NBA. I was going to say that stats like 7.6 points and 5 rebounds a game don’t scream “I’m ready for the NBA.” Then I remembered Illinois plays in the Big X. You score more than 5 points a game in the Big 10 and you’re in the mix to lead the conference in scoring.

I follow Illini basketball closely due to being a huge fan. Bruce Weber is an AWFUL coach. He has done nothing since Self’s recruits left.
He is 93-70 since Dee Brown and James Augustine left. He has led Illinois to losses to UIC, Bradley, Dayton, Utah, W.Kentucky, Northwestern(multiple losses, Indiana, and Penn St (Ed Dechellis owns him) He is a mid-major coach.
And Weber had Richmond(the only McDonalds All-American recruit Weber has gotten) coming off the bench for Bill Freaking Cole
The sooner Weber is fired, the better for the program.

Oh and he looks like a clown when he coaches, tightens up at the end of the game, and has had past players call him out multiple times.
Fire Weber!
Jereme Richmond has talent. Stats don’t show it but he does. Weber just wouldn’t play him enough

He looks like Fred Willard.

If you believe the Score (AM 670), they have been saying for weeks that the kid was failing out of school and wasn’t going to be eligible next year, and that both players, coaches, and administration all hate the kid because he is a Grade A douche.
Yesterday he tweeted something along the lines of ‘even my greatest failures are better than all of your successes, so keep hatin.’
I’m not defending Weber, because he does suck, but this kid sounds like an idiot to me.
