Michael Kay Attended A Rangers Game In A Full Uniform
Michael Kay – The voice of the New York Yankees anywhere you get the YES Network, lost some sort of bet on his radio program that forced him to attend last night’s Rangers’ game in full Rangers uniform. One person in attendance told me the stunt was a big hit with the fans: “You should’ve heard the reaction in the building. You could taste the indifference.” Obviously, this insane New Yorker wasn’t in attendance. (NHL.com)

Forgot about that inventive sign. Well played.

Love Kay. Love him. I want to say the bet involved losing the season’s NFL picks. I may be wrong, but I doubt it.

Rangers have had a good run as of late, relying pretty heavily on Lundqvist.

5 in a row and Lundqvist is not letting anyone in the club.

Yeah, the Queen has been playing pretty well lately.
Why is he wearing of all people Brandon Dubinsky’s number? Is Kay Jewish or something?

Ah shit. That’s a 4 not a 1. I have no idea who #47 is past or present. Knowing Kay and his ego, that thing is personalized.

Mmmmm… Lundqvist… that is one beautiful specimen of a man.

You’re awfully randy today.

Don’t know anything about Kay, but fuck the Rangers.

Mark Janssens and his 161 PIM also wore the 47 for the blue shirts. Maybe it’s him, too.

Just because I think James Marsden and Henriq Lundqvist are babes? Ok.

In other hockey news… the Blackhawks have called a 5th round draft pick over from Sweden because Stan has yet to get to D in the dictionary to discover what depth means.
That makes 7 (SEVEN!!!!) entry level contracts to hit this roster this season. Oh, and he just took a transatlantic flight 24 hours ago but he’s skating with 18 other guys he’s never met before tonight.
I’m gonna have to get real drunk to watch this tonight.

Sounds like the last 5 years in Oil C

Depends on when those contracts were signed, but they might ‘slide’.

Michael Kay blows donkey dick. If it weren’t for John Sterling on Yankees radio, Kay would be the most annoying game broadcaster in NY. I feel bad for smart guys like Al Leiter and John Flaherty who work games with that condescending douche

The bet was with his radio show cohost Don LaGreca for their football picks for the year. LaGreca was the one who arranged for all the Rangers stuff (including the personalized jersey with #47; it’s an ongoing gag on the show that they started off in 1947 for some reason I have never understood). Kay also used to work for MSG with Al Trautwig – that’s why Al’s having some fun with Kay in that interview.
And I was at the game – during the intermissions, a lot of people went over to him to take photos – he took every single one. The white helmet really stood out – you could see him from anywhere in the arena.
SouvenirCity – neither Kay or Dubinsky is jewish. (and Kay didn’t make or pick the jersey….)
