Kirk Herbstreit Moving To Tennessee Because Of Annoying Ohio State Fans
Kirk Herbstreit is taking his talents and his family to Music City. The ESPN college football analyst and former Ohio State quarterback has lived in Ohio his entire life. The decision to move came after three years of consideration. In the end, he just couldn’t put up with the vocal minority of tOSU fans who don’t understand that his job requires him to be objective.
“Nobody loves Ohio State more than me,” said Herbstreit, a former Buckeyes quarterback. “I still have a picture of Woody Hayes and my dad (Jim, a former OSU player) in my office, and nobody will do more than I do for the university behind the scenes. But I’ve got a job to do, and I’m going to continue to be fair and objective. To continue to have to defend myself and my family in regards to my love and devotion to Ohio State is unfair.”
“From a sports perspective, this is rough,” he said. “I love Ohio State. Love the Blue Jackets. Love the Reds. Those are my hobbies. I don’t like moving. I love living here. I don’t want to leave. But I just can’t do this anymore. I really can’t keep going like this.
“Eighty to ninety percent of the Ohio State fans are great. It’s the vocal minority that make it rough. They probably represent only 5 to 10 percent of the fan base, but they are relentless.”
This is why Ohio can’t have anything nice. Now Herbstreit will be known as the traitor who turned his back on his home because he couldn’t take a little tough love.

Jim Tressel knew of this decision months ago, but decided not to break the story.

Always respected Herbie. He’s a good dude. Now time to become a Big Orange fan Kirk.

I’m guessing the fact that TN doesn’t have state Income tax has a little something to do with it as well.

It will make the barbs from hick Vols fans sting a little less.

Didn’t watch any games yesterday except Cuse/UConn. That Wisky score is amazing. How dreadful of a game would that have been to watch?

I’m guessing the fact that TN doesn’t have state Income tax has a little something to do with it as well.Bing, bing, bing!!! Except Herbie should have made the move to Florida. There’s a reason why every pro golfer lives in FLA over other places with great weather year-round. I’d also bet it’s a big reason why LBJ ended up there.

Apparently I hit code instead of quote. Now all of you can copy and paste that directly into your PHP, CSS, JS, C++, etc. files with no worry about hidden characters.

Right on… It’s good stuff. Black and Tans (with Bass) are excellent. And, of course, Irish Car Bombs, FTMFW!!!

I wouldn’t say every pro golfer lives in Florida- there are a few in California & Texas and a ton in Arizona. I’m not sure if Arizona has state income tax. I know Washington, Texas, Florida don’t have state income tax. I thought maybe Wyoming and Indiana (?) might be the others beside Tennessee.
/humidity not for everyone
March 12th, 2011 at 1:53 PM
AZ has a state income tax. Not as many pro golfers live here as you would think given the number and quality of courses.
March 12th, 2011 at 2:00 PM
OK, maybe I get a skewed version because Gary McCord lives in Arizona and is always mentioning all the guys he plays with (or what club they belong to) maybe that’s the total of all of them, lol.

Don’t insult Belgian beer by including Stella in that category.

No sales take in WA, correct. But we pay 9.5% sales tax and ridiculous gas tax to make up for it.
March 14th, 2011 at 1:54 AM
Duh, I meant no state income tax in WA. Time for bed.

Tried this once hoping to get the strikethrough to work…Dirt saw it and made fun of me
And Herbie is obviously just bored with Columbus coeds and is ready to try his hand at SEC poon
