Storage Company’s Latest Ad Makes Fun of the Mets
So it’s come to this. Manhattan Mini Storage, a place to keep all of your extra crap, has joined in on the Mets bashing and boldly omitted them from their latest ad as one of the professional sports teams New York City has to offer.
It’s painfully clear things have hit rock bottom when your franchise is being shown less respect than the New York Liberty. At this rate, don’t be surprised to see a chip clip manufacturer squeeze in a zing or two before opening day.
The best part is, a few minutes ago I discovered I know the jackass who created the ad. He confirmed the Liberty is the sixth team, not the Wanger’s Islanders.

Look at you Mr. mover and shaker within the New York advertising industry. A regular Roger Sterling you must be.

$29 is also a pretty good deal for a storage space. How big is it?
/paying nearly $100/month right now.

4x4x4 is 71 a month downtown.

4 Feet high?

Really? That’s practically a storage locker. I thought I was getting screwed with $97/month, including insurance for a 5×8 with a 12 foot ceiling.

CJ, her husband, and Spencer could move in for only $23.66 a month each.

Why leave a city with 6 (ho-hum) professional teams and the Mets (who are named by themselves for emphasis)
/glass half full
//not a mets fan

Thats all they are… storage lockers
/Miami is out… I have the magic touch for picking teams!!!

Brilliance, sheer brilliance.

I guess it’s just a difference of terminology. In Texas, when someone says storage space, you expect it to be something you can walk into. I guess more akin to a storage closet.

It always surprises me how this place clears out after about 430 ET. I would think that all you peeps in the central time zone would want to kill some time before punching out.
March 10th, 2011 at 5:37 PM
Yeah I expected rooms too. I couldn’t live somewhere I couldn’t have space/yard/car etc, I’m just not wired that way.
/Also hates people, crowds, lines, traffic

It’s usually about now that I add on to all the empty threads before I realize no one is around and I’m talking to myself. I work from like 9:15 till 6 or 7 central every day though, so I miss the early threads and am all alone the late ones.

not enough room for the “shake weight exercises”.

Although my work day officially ends at 5pm CST, I rarely get to leave right at 5. So seeing this place become an echo chamber around this time is not unusual to me.
March 10th, 2011 at 5:42 PM
i normally get to work 15-25 minutes early depending on traffic…no hesitation to leave 5-10 minutes early most days since i see people get here after i do in the mornings and punch out right on time.

Workday ends at 5pm MST for me, the block of about an hour and a half at the end of the day is when I catch up on reading interesting articles I ccome across during the day.

I’m always bummed out. Now’s the part of the day I have the most time to kill.

And then they back it up with TMNT. Such an awesome episode.

Was it about what color suspenders they were wearing in the SI photoshoot?

They have some pretty funny, “risky” ads. They must know their demographic. A recent one said something like:
WARNING: If you store your stuff outside of Manhattan, it may come back Republican.

I’m on PST out here so I’m always hearing crickets when I’m interested in wasting my time away
