The All England Badminton Open Championships are going on Birmingham right now. I stumbled across the corresponding Getty photo gallery yesterday. From there I looked through old pictures of badminton competitions. It’s not that I have any problem with sports like badminton, its just that some of these sports/games/contests are inherently funny and leave the participants in odd spots. If you were to see a guy on the street striking that pose, you would think “What in the world is he doing!?” Put him in an athletic competition and its even stranger.
