Joakim Soria, No Longer the ‘Mexicutioner’
Joakim Soria Needs a New Nickname: Royals closer Joakim Soria, known to many as the ‘Mexicutioner’, suggested in a tweet yesterday that a change in his nickname might be in order due to the violence taking place in Mexico. “It is sad when you see your country like that,” Soria said, “and that nickname is a negative to the kids in Mexico. There’s too much violence. It’s really bad.” The replacement name is a no-brainer, right? Right. J-Sor it is. [Kansas City Star]

If he wants to be a hero to the kids in Mexico, why not just assume the identity of the greatest Mexican superhero?
That’s right…luchador legend, SANTO, EL ENMASCARADO DE PLATA!

I have never knew he had this nickname.
One of the local radio stations thought it was a good idea about four years ago and printed up a bunch of shirts. Yesterday, the host that came up with the idea thought that Mexico is 180 degrees different than four years ago. Bullshit. The killings have been going on for years down there. It was a stupid nickname. Soria did the right thing.
