He totally got that from the NBA 2K games. The ability to dunk over a car has been in those since they started putting the Dunk Contest in them.

Ibaka’s FT line dunk was more impressive than any dunk Blake completed. So were both of Demar’s dunks (the “Showstopper” in particular was incredible). McGee’s under the backboard dunk was sick (plus he had more creativity overall with the 2 and 3 ball dunks he made earlier.) I would have had Mcgee and Demar in the finals, leaving Demar the former USC Trojan (and LA native) to dunk over the car if Kia paid for that. Blake probably should have finished 4th overall just based on the dunks he made (not the ones he attempted and missed)

If you have a problem with the missed dunks, you might as well get rid of the dunk contest. The problem is everyone wants to see new dunks. Well, new dunks are kind of hard. You have to pick 1 of 3: See these guys flush home dunks we’ve already seen, try to put down dunks we haven’t, or just get rid of it.

I enjoyed the showmanship,and there wasn’t a weak dunk in competition. People talk about the car dunk, but even with that, doing that “routine” dunk while jumping over a car isn’t quite so routine.

The best ones of the whole thing were Ibaka’s FT line dunk and DeRozan’s “show stopper” were f’ing rad. The Javale McGee things with 2 & 33 basketballs were impressive but not really as great looking as they sound. Blake’s first dunk would have been the best if he’d made the first attempt

Griffin’s first 2 attempts on the first dunk (same as the completed dunk but a windmill instead of the more simple double clutch) was insane and woulda been an all time great dunk contest dunk if he completed it. I almost fainted on that first try.

Also, DeRozan was more robbed than anyone. At first I thought it should have been him and Griffin in the finals, but BG shouldn’t have even been in there in hindsight…his dunks in the finals weren’t that great.

And don’t get me started on the car dunk.when a few minutes before Kenny Smith was on the mic claiming “no props, no bunnies, no gimmicks etc…” then brought out the single biggest gimmick dunk ever.

Ibaka was robbed. enough w/ multiple attempts to make one dunk. it took McGee almost the entire 2 mins to make the 2 ball dunk. what a joke.
and Griffin dunking over the hood is not impressive. weak contest

best part, Coco Miller looking fine as ever!
