Every year you play in the CHL you get a year of books/tuition completely paid for provided you don’t sign a pro contract (and in some cases you can play 1/2 of the year in the ECHL and still collect your full scholarship).

I believe you’ve had direct experience with this and I’ve always been curious how much CHL teams take education seriously? I’ve heard differing accounts, and always wonder if teams encourage the players to study and get their education.

Read the original comment. Education plan is part of the concept. You can’t force a kid to get an education but you can provide incentives and make the option more attractive.
