it makes me hate the Egyptians too. I know they’re not all responsible for it, but some mob crowd of punks just decided to rape a lady because they were amped up and because they could. It really makes me hate them.

I’m thinking this would happen anywhere a similar situation is occurring. It certainly is a horrible situation, but this is how media coverage of events has developed. They put themselves in the most dangerous situations, be it Afghanistan or Egypt; this was something that was going to happen sooner or later.

Jersey – what keeps going through my mind is why these reporters put themselves directly into the middle of a mob like that. Anderson Cooper got his ass beat, then a couple of FoxNews guys got their asses beat just a day or two later. I was actually fine with those incidents, but this…this is different than just some reporter martyring himself for popularity and ratings purposes (I fully 100% believe Anderson Cooper and those FoxNews guys did a fistpump after getting punched because they were now the story)…what happened to her though is exponentially so much worse. it makes me hate the Egyptians too. You’re right CJ: In this day and age, its really unnecessary to have reporters and camera crews THAT close to people who are very incendiary to begin with. We have the technology to capture that without subjecting anyone to any kind of danger.

Frankly I understand the need to be close to the ‘story’ but there have to be some limits. There was absolutely no need for her to be that close to a mob and not have security surrounding her. By the way, this goes for male and female reporters, dont forget what happened to Anderson Cooper.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m so shocked and sick about what happened to that CBS reporter, Lara Logan…it was one of the last things I heard last night before turning off the tv and then one of the first things I heard on the radio this morning and I can’t seem to get it out of my head. I’ve typed up like three comments and just deleted them.

it proved just how brave the JumboTron is for sitting all the way up there night and night out.
