Is Whitlock’s First Podcast Guest Jay Mariotti?
Whitlock & Mariotti: Jason Whitlock’s starting a podcast, and a source at Fox Spots Radio tells me that the first guest will be Jay Mariotti, the unemployed former journalist who hasn’t said much since getting fired from ESPN and Fanhouse following his August arrest (6 of the 7 chargers were later dropped). A source at Fox Spots Radio claims the pair was taping the podcast Sunday in Los Angeles (but wasn’t in the studio and didn’t hear taping). It’s an interesting choice for Mariotti, seeing as how badly Whitlock has battered him in the past (though he kind of defended him here). Whitlock, who has been extra angry of late – taking shots in recent weeks at Hall of Fame voters, this site, and sparring with numerous others on twitter – didn’t return an email about the podcast.

I understand his love for The Wire, but his obsession with Herman’s Head is disarming.

I enjoyed this show when I was a kid. At least I remember watching it every week. Couldn’t tell you much about it now.

The gap between the actual quality of Whitlock’s output and his opinion of same is hilariously large.

ms621, aren’t you the history buff? have you read “The Columbian Exchange” by Alfred Crosby? is it worth the read or is it more of a school-type history book?
February 15th, 2011 at 3:12 PM
I heard Whitlock was here this weekend. Any truth to that?

He wasn’t unfollowing me. He blocked me way back for questioning his sexism.

I haven’t read it and I can’t say that I’m familiar with it unfortunately.

The episode where all of the people in Herman’s Head reluctantly say goodbye to his live-in girlfriend remains a classic of the genre.

last time somebody didn’t return one of your emails, it was he “refused” or something like that. sounds a lot different to write it this way, no?

Nope, I can handle them. I just exercised the option not to have to.
February 15th, 2011 at 3:21 PM
I honestly can say I have never listened to a podcast. Not sure why.

Possibly Duckworthed, but:
But following Saban’s in-home visit to Rock Hill, S.C., in December, Clowney told Evans, “I don’t see no big deal like everybody else. They’d say, ‘He’s the king of all of football.’ The guy ain’t nothing but 5-5. He’s a short guy. Everybody’s going crazy on Nick Saban.”

I suppose it was for the better, as I was completely fed up with your anti RR sentiment.

Butters – I think it comes down to me being lazy and the inability to comment ala this site. More interactive.
Anyhow, I was subjected to Whitlock on the radio in KC for years, so I know I won’t need to listen to his podcasts.
