yeah, the whole thing is a mess. from the actual food item ingredients themselves, to the way they are marketed, who they are marketed to, the FDA rulings on organics, etc.

this is what bothers me about people trying to say our government is trying to tell us what to eat…there’s a lot of people that need sorta do need that.

It’s the tough thing about government… we don’t want them to control our lives because we want to maintain our freedoms (at least, I do) but then by not prohibiting others from engaging in destructive (smoking, obesity anything) it affects the rest of society who has to pay for it. I at least am not so overbearing to say we have to choose one or the other, but I do think we need to do a better job recognizing questions that are on hand like that.

The GBS isn’t so common, but especially here in the South you see so much obesity, and then heart failure, diabetes, sleep apnea (causing pulmonary hypertension) as a result. If we spend 10% of all our money in the US on healthcare, I’d bet 5% is on preventable comorbidities.

Had an international plane to Chicago one time, first class had people laying down for a nap…insanely jealous.

Got to fly business class to Taiwan for work and between the big cushiony seats and the stewardess that kept re-filling my wine glass every time it emptied, I was feeling mighty fine on that long ass flight and had no problem sleeping one bit.

Now regular flights with the common folk and in economy class…. now that takes some drinking and smoking to get any kind of sleep at all.

tim, can you suggest another way. it’d be nice for everyone to be able to open these, not just some. i had to C&P an article to spence a while ago because he couldn;t open. everytime I test it, it works fine

I was snoring once on a plane and woke up and everyone was laughing at me.

I passed out drunk on a train in England, missed my stop by 4 or 5 stops and woke up to the entire train car staring at me in disgust because it was 3:00 in the afternoon.

also sat next to a choclate honey stewardess whose name was chauncey when a flight got rough and she had to sit. i said, like chauncey billups, and was rewarded with a huge smile cuz we connected on that. that’s all, no fun in the airport lounge later or anything

sw is the tits. i usually have two or three jack daniels’ on ice when i fly, and i spilled my first one time. guy next to me gave me free drink ticket. also, i’ve had multiple flights (not always on Sw) on which a steward(ess) comped me a drink.
