Enjoyed the Tosh Superbowl prediction last night. Also a big fan of his close:
“I think we can all agree that the best thing about this year’s Superbowl is that the Jets aren’t in it. The Jets are a lot like the Yankees, everyone hates them. Only they dont have good players, a winning tradition, or a coach that doesnt beat off every time a player gets their ankle taped.”

CJ: You and Tosh can go get fucked. It was a great episode until he left that steaming pile of doo on my screen.

That Sopranos ending explanation is badass. I read that thing about a year ago and it answers almost every question. David Chase is a fucking genius.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:54 AM

1) convinced me that Tony died
2) reminded me that I thought my fucking cable went out and reminded me what fucking weaksauce that ending still is.

February 2nd, 2011 at 9:03 AM
Interesting link, but the author could didn’t really need 4 pages of content to sell me on his theory. I mean, many of us never missed an episode and could surmise for ourselves that the abrupt end of the final episode could have been symbolic of Tony’s demise.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:04 AM
I can’t see anyone willing to take on anybody other than Odom or Bynum. If Bynum didn’t have such a terrible injury history, he would make sense for a lot of teams. How about Bynum for DWilliams? Josh Smith?
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:04 AM
Would you have rather they splattered his brains on his onion rings then cut to credits?
The ending was brilliant…put you in Tony’s head at the moment his life ended, right before he gets to see his daughter for the last time.

I’m not saying every Sopranos episode towards the end was brilliant, but it seemed to get to a point with that series, that unless someone pertinent to the plot of that season was getting killed (Tony Blundetto or Richie Aprile or Ralphie), then you’d hear people bitch that that particular episode sucked. I think Chase got to a point in the series where he really couldn’t win.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:11 AM
I think Nash would do it for a shot at the title. I think LA would like WIlliams instead as he could be more of a long-term solution.
As the article laid-out though, I don’t see a lot of options for them.

That’s everybody’s go to response if you didn’t like the ending. I wasnt calling for Tony’s blood persay, but you’d think a genius like david chase could have done something else to convey Tony gets whacked without pissing off an audience.

February 2nd, 2011 at 9:14 AM
LA could offer Bynum or Odom to Sacramento for a slew of guys though. Garcia, Casspi, Landry, THompson, etc. That might be an option.

I actually liked the Kevin Finnerty episodes. Whacking people just for the sake of whacking people gets stale after a while. And I’m not saying the last episode sucked, just that Chase maybe made a miscalculation with the ending.

I dunno after that story of the kid who held a presser announcing his intent to sign with a school who never wanted him, I have kinda soured on this day. Seems drummed up more by the media than the schools themselves.

February 2nd, 2011 at 9:20 AM
so, what really happened at the end of the Sopranos
that episode was on on Sunday, and I ended up catching it right at the point that scene started. it was a cocktease to keep ratcheting up the suspense and not show a payoff, but it was his creation, he can end it anyway he wants. its not a choose your own adventure.

Watched Russell Crowe’s Robin Hood last night. Anyone seen it? I thought it was too long, hard to follow and disjointed. The battle scenes were cool but the story was really difficult to follow. Two stars at best.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:21 AM
It sounds like, if Utah doesn’t do anything this offseason, it might turn into another Bosh/Melo situation with Williams forcing the Jazz’s hands.
I have a feeling Utah will draft Jimmer in hopes he will make Williams somewhat expendable at next year’s trade deadline.

Because Hollywood is bereft of any original ideas at the moment, apparently.
I mean, they are rebooting Spiderman. Didn’t that Spiderman with Tobey McGuire happen, like, 5 minutes ago? And we’re “rebooting” it already?

When the lightning flashed for the first time last night my roommate and I thought it was an EMT or something. Then, the thunder boomed. We both looked at each other with that “now I actually feel slightly unsafe” look. I was not aware that thunder and lightning during a blizzard was even possible by the laws of nature. It was cool to watch from inside.
We saw a guy riding a bike down our street during this and assumed he was carrying a massive brown space heater in his pants after that thunder boomed.

No. They are appealing the probation, so they can go get kids this year without the schollie punishment. It’s a nasty loophole. They are likely selling the fact that the probation will get lifted based on the appeal, etc…
Snake oil salesman might not be strong enough.

They are good. Real good. Tampa is going to win that division. They’ve given the Flyers fits all year.
Having witnessed it first hand, I know if Roloson gets hot he can steal games in the playoffs (pretty impressive for a 41 year old goalie). I still think their back-end will be their achilles heel, but they can score on anyone.

Oh… NDub (as long as the rest of the men of the Commenteriari), you should tune into HIMYM on CBS this coming Monday. Katy Perry is guest starring.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:58 AM
+1 energy ball
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:58 AM
But lets just say that they don’t win the appeal. They are still going to be eligible for postseason play NEXT season, right? You don’t need the most 4 star, and 5 star recruits… you just need the best.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:58 AM
It’s no different than a baseball player who appeals a suspension and can play while the appeal is being heard.

No. This year and next year are the two years where they can’t play in bowls.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:59 AM
Here’s a pretty funny picture of a freinds dog, they live in Tulsa and got about 14″ of snow.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:00 AM
That show has never appealed to me but the lure of Katy Perry’s lustful sexuality might be too strong.

The difference between the top 3 in the Atlantic Division and the bottom 2 could not be any greater either. Flyers, Rangers and Pens could all be a force in the East playoffs.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:02 AM
So true. When ATL was hit by the snow a few weeks back, my dog was in heaven. He didn’t want to come inside.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:03 AM
I think that is incorrect. They didn’t play in a bowl in 2010, so if they sit out this year they should be able to play in 2012. IIRC USC seniors and juniors were allowed to transfer w/o penalty as they wouldn’t be able to play in a bowl game.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:03 AM
I hate fucking winter. A foot of snow at my house, 21″ 45 minutes to the east. Thank god I work west.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:04 AM
It is. I meant this year as the bowl season that just passed. So next year is the last year for the probation

I fucked up. I meant the 2010 postseason, and 2011 postseason. My mind was acting like its the 2011 season already. But this coming season is the last year of the bowl ban. So he can definitely sell recruits on that if that is a hang up.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:04 AM
That had to be hilarious watching that big hairy beast prancing in the white stuff.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:05 AM
Started rewatching Lost yesterday…..and wishing that I was on a plane that crashed on a deserted island.

He was heavy enough to just crush right through the layer of ice. I would build a huge mound of snow balls and just start firing them. He tried to catch every one. He had so much fun. For a Newfoundland in Ga, he had to be thrilled.
Wow. Tony Stewart goes to Clemson. How the fuck does Clemson recruit so well?
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:08 AM
I have two Siberian Huskies. You can imagine the heaven they are in right now.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:09 AM
Atlanta is probably better than you give them credit for and the Rangers are probably not as good as you think they should be.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:09 AM
@jck49erfan – Hell yea, man. Love the re-watches. I’m about halfway through the strike-shortened season four. Such quality stuff.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:10 AM
Oh, you were talking about just the Atlantic….my bad.
The Devils will play spoiler down the stretch. The Isles are just wretched.
But the Eastern Conference, itself, shapes up to be a pretty good race.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:11 AM
Are they hyper as fuck? My uncle and aunt had one that was so beautiful with blue eyes and a perfect white mask but she was wound up something fierce. I think that’s what they call over-breeding.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:11 AM
Great question. Dabo has to be done-bo at the end of this season, I’m jarred that they are pulling big time recruits.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:11 AM
and still end up mediocre as shit every year. this is the eternal question.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:11 AM

Trashers are in tough to make the playoffs. The top 3 Atlantic teams are solid, but let’s not forget they get to beat up on the Islanders and Devils.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:12 AM
A friend of mine said there are so many rumors about rogue Clemson boosters throwing money around, but who knows.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:13 AM
I just find it really creepy how excited you guys get over high school boys
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:13 AM
They have a lot of energy, but I wouldn’t call them hyper. I should say my male has a lot of energy. My female is content with laying around all day. Great dogs, very loving and social. I’d recommend them to anyone….as long as they could tolerate all the shedding.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:14 AM
Blew through the first 4 episodes yesterday. I still get goose bumps during the Locke wheelchair revelation.

Ah, Walkabout. A great episode. You’re about to watch one of my absolute favorites – White Rabbit.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:19 AM
Love White Rabbit…..I find it hard to believe that any show in my lifetime will surpass the greatness of Lost.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:20 AM
Thrashers didn’t play very well last night against the Isles. It’s not often I get to enjoy an Islander win, so I’m going to take it.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:20 AM
The Rags are dirt.

The Enstrom injury is a big loss for ATL.
Sigh, Islanders are ahead of the Oilers this morning.

I find this to be amazing. Boston Public Schools have already had at least 3 this year, if not 4 (including today).
