As a long-time Onion fan (and fan of their movie) I was really excited about this show, but i have to say that I only laughed once, and not very hard. Yes, the meth skit. And I laugh at just about everything.

The rest? I can’t help but think people found it funny because they really, really, really wanted it to be funny. Onion has a long enough history of being funny to warrant me watching a second episode, but its got to at least make me laugh as much as your everyday episode of PTI…

The Meth scene was great, as was the concept behind the ex-NFL players. There is so much potential for this show. I really hope they do well with it.

old school was hilarious in college…the farther you get away from it the less funny it is.

I think the same could be said for all the Adam Sandler movies and even Ace Ventura.

Now if they parody how ESPN kisses LeBron’s ass and how they turn unfounded rumors into top news stories, I think that would be funny.
Think of them parodying ESPN’s NFL coverage the same way “The Naked Gun” made fun of baseball (13 people in the booth, including Dr. Joyce Brothers). That’s what I would like to see.

Right, they can do all of this. There is so much left untapped to make fun of. They got the Outside the Lines and the suspended news anchor in this episode. I have no problem with the rest of the show being about sports. Those stories are just like the articles they write.

@texansfan: AVP:requim was the worst trash i’ve ever seen in theatres. the funny thing is, that was probably brought up in a meeting somewhere in hollywood when discussing the alien prequel, and odds are, by the same guy that thinks ID4 needs sequels.

No doubt. Wasnt Alien Vs Predator fan created so they made a video game out of it? I absolutely lost my shit once the predator helped the female character in the first one. It was complete garbage but that just totally killed me. Predator is supposed to stab her in the gut with a spear, not fucking help her!

i thought sportsdome was pretty good, lots of potential. there is a ton of ESPN stuff that needs to be made fun of, so i hope they realize that.
