I’ve been told that your eyesight need to be “bad enough” to get it done. Mine is not terrible (-1.5, or so), the the error margin in the procedure is..small.

@Hawkeye: I think my eyes qualify as “bad enough” but I do have astigmatism in one eye (not sure if that matters). I plan on going through the initial round of discussions for the procedure at some point this year. I’m still nervous I’ll be one of the .5% of people who go blind/die/whatever and end up as a tragic Round Up story.

Done correctly, it won’t wear off. The need down the road for corrective lenses to assist in reading or long distance sight is still possible.

LASIK won’t make eyes perfect, but it will correct severe sight problems tremendously.
