People Are Starting to Chime in on the Jim Harbaugh Post From This Morning
Jim Harbaugh: Michael Rosenberg, who writes for the Detroit Free Press and Sports Illustrated, presumably saw this post this morning and tweeted that it’s “not true.” It is unclear whether or not he spoke to Michigan AD Dave Brandon or anyone close to him. Then, he wrote this for the Freep. I agree with his last line – “That is why I won’t count out Michigan until I see Harbaugh put on a 49ers hat at a news conference.” Agreed. The Harbaugh-to-Michigan post was where the situation stood this morning. Harbaugh could certainly change his mind tonight, or tomorrow or whatever. As of this morning, it was off. (Rosenberg, whom we’ve interviewed before, is also the guy who wrote this column about Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly earlier this season.) At Presnap Read, Paul Myerberg writes, “It’s good to be Jim Harbaugh.”

Rosenberg is a persona non grata in Ann Arbor. I’m not convinced anyone with any inside info would talk to that clown.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:13 PM
Hearing lots of hedging.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:13 PM
You should have just used a question mark this morning…you wouldn’t have needed this post.

I’m hearing that Hedge Von Hedgerson will probably break this story anyway.

Just let it slide, Spencer. He is intent on being on the right side of this story when it breaks.

You’re lucky it’s only Monday Afternoon. You still have another 10 hours to hear from Albom, because you know where he’ll be tomorrow
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:19 PM
LOL
Again, it’s just where things were this morning. If it changes tomorrow or Wednesday, I hope to be on top of it.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:19 PM
I’ve heard, and granted my source is from within the Michigan athletic dept. That no one had any freaking clue what’s going on.
SO…who knows.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:20 PM
He’s going to SF… sorry Michigan. Mark it down.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:21 PM
Agreed. The Harbaugh-to-Michigan post was where the situation stood this morning.
this is so weak
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:22 PM
it’s this type of alleged indesicion that makes me think that harbaugh’s the perfect man for the job. what job? all of em.

Some one complimented Star Wars III:ROTS this morning and just like that…..BAM.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:22 PM
Don’t bother…it doesn’t do anybody any good to guess and have that stance be rendered moot 5 minutes later.

cowherd just hates OSU. that’s all.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:28 PM
I don’t see that happening. He is not going to work for a QB who is more famous and beloved by the fanbase and I doubt he wants tebow.

Let’s talk about how bad the Big 10 looked in their bowl games Saturday.

Let’s talk about how bad the Big 10 looked in their bowl games Saturday.
Why? They were just “meaningless exhibitions”
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:35 PM
will you do so in the proper context? or will you gloss over the fact that alabama is a top 5 team in 3-loss clothing?

To be honest, Wisky kept it closer than I thought they would. Kudos to them.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:36 PM
Of course. But does this mean that teams that tie for first in the B1G should be getting trampled by 40 by top 5 teams?

also…id like to thank michigan state for completely fluking their way to 11 wins and the right to embarrass the conference.
little brother indeed.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:39 PM
no, this means that the big ten’s addition of a championship game was a long time coming.

//Go Hokies!
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:41 PM
I will stand up for Sparty here even though its against my nature.
The did not ‘fluke’ their way to 11 wins. They beat the teams in front of them, including a pretty good Wisconsin team that manhandled OSU. They were clearly out-classed by Bama and all that proved is that they were not a top 5 or top 10 team nationally, it proved nothing in terms of their Big Ten finish or their overall record.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:41 PM
Another reason for you to hate Notre Dame, too.

but Rexy said that this time “It’s personal”. Colts better watch out.

question for you…is iowa a better or worse team than michigan state?
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:43 PM
Excellent.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:43 PM
Harbaugh ordered tuna on toast for lunch, but then switched quickly to chicken salad, on rye, untoasted. And a cup of tea. So…yeah, situation is fluid.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:44 PM
I would comment, but I think Matt McGloin threw another interception a few minutes ago and I was distracted.

If Wisconsin and TCU play 5 times, Badgers probably win 3 of them. They are, in my opinion, the better team. Just not in the Rose Bowl. Missed FGs and Bielima’s failure to adhere to the run game, which was tiring TCU’s defensive line, were the reasons they lost.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:47 PM
Iowa completely crapped the bed at the end of the season. When they killed MSU, they had only lost to Arizona and Wisc, so I have no doubt that Iowa was the better team at that point. Over the whole season there is also no doubt that MSU was better.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:49 PM
1) Wisconsin wins 3? I dunno about that…they sure as heck aren’t the better team.
2) Failure to adhere to the run game? Are you nuts? The Badgers ran the ball 46 times compared to just 21 passes. 9 of those passes were in the second half…
3) They lost because TCU was the better team. That’s a damn good football team that deserves to be ranked 2nd in the upcoming polls.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:50 PM
Thank you, sir.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:54 PM
Agreed.
Ball and Clay both averaged over 6 ypc. Tolzien should have had single digit pass attempts.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:55 PM
Who doesn’t.
January 3rd, 2011 at 2:58 PM
I’m still trying to figure out how TCU won after putting up 301 yards of total offense. Their leading rusher (aside from Dalton) had 4 carries!
January 3rd, 2011 at 3:17 PM
This,
1) Wisconsin wins 3? I dunno about that…they sure as heck aren’t the better team.
2) Failure to adhere to the run game? Are you nuts? The Badgers ran the ball 46 times compared to just 21 passes. 9 of those passes were in the second half…

is answered by this:
Ball and Clay both averaged over 6 ypc. Tolzien should have had single digit pass attempts.
TCU is a damn good team. But Wisconsin passing 21 times, many of those downfield into a good TCU secondary, was too many. And for all that, if Wisconsin does miss one of its FGs, we’re not having this conversation today.
January 3rd, 2011 at 3:17 PM
‘If Wisconsin does not miss’ I meant.
