Randy Edsall is the New Maryland Terps Football Coach
Randy Edsall: He’s reportedly left Connecticut to coach Maryland. Is it a lateral move? The Big East and ACC are equally awful. It’s definitely more difficult to win the ACC (Florida State, Virginia Tech), and I’d venture to say it’s a slightly more respected conference. Edsall made some outstanding lemonade out of a nothing program in Storrs, so he should be able to work magic in College Park with a young Maryland team coming off a 9-4 season. All that Mike Leach talk you heard in the last 72 hours? Probably just smoke. He’s still too toxic. [WP]

I don’t think Leach was smoke. My understanding is that at the last minute, Maryland changed their mind and decided to go with the “safe” hire.

Disagree. He’s waiting for something better. I so wanted Edsall over the Gill. Gill sucks. Bad. I don’t give a shit what Fetch says. The dude is suited to coach JUCOs.
/hope I’m wrong.

How is the ACC “equally as awful” as the Big East? Sure the ACC has a number of schools that have had down years lately in football, but jeez, at least Miami, FSU, VA Tech have turned out power house programs and are still huge names in the sport. The Big East currently has 8 teams and West Virginia is as close to a powerhouse as they have and that is a stretch to say the least.

….. Yeah, first time in like 20+ years… Wings fucked up… Poor lack of effort in the first 2 periods. Blew the golden pp opportunity in the first… uhhh… Fuck Jimmy Howard(yeah I know those goals were not his fault but still). Oh well.. I’m still mad, bitches need to shoot quickly stop hesitating and start fucking hitting.

Tech? Yes. When is the last time Miami or FSU won the ACC let alone had a significant national win? This year alone they both took a beating on the same day in big games. Plus you don’t get blown out by Notre Dame and call yourself a national power.

How did you post that comment 3 times in a row like that, Darrell?

That would rock. He used to blow UConn’s doors off at WVU.

The Big East and ACC are equally awful.
Comes with the territory of not paying players. Recruiting in the Southeastern Conference is as close to organized crime as any of us will ever see in our lifetime and it’s a joke that the NCAA only steps in when the media finds something, and then their only reaction seems to be to cover it up.
