December 27th, 2010 at 9:19 AM
didn’t franchise and cuttino have a sloppy media make out session when cuttino got traded or released or whatever roster transaction his meager, meager talents merited?

Mobley and Franchise are like Izzo and Mooch. lovers
December 27th, 2010 at 9:22 AM
Wow, that’s falsity false.
And my family took the Teena Marie death like if Stevie Wonder had died, which is weird. I was never the biggest fan, but her “Fire and Desire” duet with Rick James is still the shit.

I was asleep for most of the 2nd half, I didn’t realize Kubiak only gave it to Foster 5 times. What a buffoon.

some game yesterday, huh? as a rare commenter who seems to not have a passionate feel one way or the other for the Jets … any thoughts on their performance?
December 27th, 2010 at 9:30 AM
No shit? Serves them right to lose then.
There’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-7 billion people in the world. How we can’t find 64 good head coaches and quarterbacks from that pile, I’ll never know.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:32 AM
Hakeem- the week 17 game got moved up to 3. Who the fuck wants to watch these shitbags
December 27th, 2010 at 9:32 AM
X2 is supremely underrated. People forget how good it was.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:33 AM
For starters, what the hell happened to your defense? Revis appeared to have an OK game but the rest of the DBs appeared to get torched. I’ll admit to Sanchez playing pretty good. The Bears didn’t get the pressure they needed on him from the front 4. Running game appeared to be effective for both clubs. Weather didn’t seem to really have an effect on the game. The turf monster worked both for and against each team.
Both teams should have a lot to look at in the film room this morning in order to make improvements.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:33 AM
The Little Ceasers Bowl was actually very entertaining, Toledo converted a 2 pt conversion late in the 4th to take the lead, FIU used a hook and lateral to convert a 4th and 17 on the ensuing drive. It was definitely a better game than had Joe Webb and the Vikings played.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:34 AM
Oh, and I was HIGHLY entertained by the game despite being frustrated with the Bears defense. You couldn’t look away in fear of missing a big play.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:35 AM
Hakeem- the week 17 game got moved up to 3. Who the fuck wants to watch these shitbags
(sighs) I will still watch
December 27th, 2010 at 9:37 AM
Oh, and where is Geeezus? The fucking Jags, mainly Rashad Jennings can suck it.
61 YARDS!?!?!?!?
December 27th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
Working on this post. Cromartie has had an awful 2nd half to the season. Lowery, Coleman … these guys just aren’t getting the job done. It’s highly disappointing, since that was the glaring need in the offseason after the AFC title game. Also: They really miss safety Jim Leonhard.
i haven’t watched the Bears all season, but other than the Pats, did anyone light them up this easily? i know the Eagles didn’t. I’m pretty thrilled with the Jets offense going into the postseason. I really don’t know if the defense can get its act together, though.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
Carl Dukes is going to kill Kubiak today. I can’t wait to listen.
/put em up!
December 27th, 2010 at 9:40 AM
Since you all gave me shit complaining about the supposed lack of coverage for the Saints last year:
Falcons fans have the same problem this year.
/see? it’s not just me
December 27th, 2010 at 9:41 AM
maybe if the falcons weren’t boring as fuck and didn’t play in a stadium that made games look like they were being played in a piss stained alley people would watch.
domes should be abolished.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
This.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
First half of the Seapigeons game they were on rollerskates. Other than that, not really.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:44 AM
Oh, and where is Geeezus? The fucking Jags, mainly Rashad Jennings can suck it.
Not working this week, can’t sleep in anymore. They got behind early and had to throw, typical effort in the Jack Del Rio era, they lost 4 games straight at the end of last year and staring at 3 straight this year.
If only both the Jags and Texans could lose next week so both the coaching staffs get canned.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:44 AM

fuck you fox sports radio. how could you take away the czabe?
December 27th, 2010 at 9:47 AM
Team Freedom’s OT winner over Finland last night.
Team Freedom dropped a point to a lesser opponent (2 points for OT win, 3 for regulation win). They are in the weak pool, so they’ll roll from here until the medal round.

See above comment. The red & white did not require use of OT to dispatch of the Russians.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:49 AM
did anyone see that visa commercial with all the “youtube-y” videos of saints fans celebrating during last year’s super bowl?
how fucking big of a douchebag do you need to be to think that people would actually want to watch you watch a game?
December 27th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
It wasn’t Stephen A. Czabe is back on SNR here in Indy.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
That’s called “entertaining the fans” or “playing to the crowd”. Haven’t you seen Gladiator? The best always put on a show.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
Spencer I hate that commercial
December 27th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
Pulkkinen looked good. Not bad for a 4th round pick.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
i know…i was being crass towards the individual or individuals who thought that giving stephen A smith a radio presence last year was a good idea.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:52 AM
This.
Yesterday, everyone on here was raving about that commercial being the shit.
/I hate Hank Baskett

That’s called “entertaining the fans” or “playing to the crowd”. Haven’t you seen Gladiator? The best always put on a show.
I saw it as playing down to the competition, which is a second cousin of folding under pressure.

It’ll be interesting to see the fine Goodell hands out for this.

This. I wonder if these are the same people that record shit off their tv and post it to YouTube. I mean, the camera is right there….
December 27th, 2010 at 9:56 AM
EPIC!!!!!!
Colts looked pretty good yesterday bsanders. If Peyton starts running the ball like Tebow, look out! Having Addai back makes everyone feel so much more secure and Rhodes was running hard. From 0 running backs to 3 good ones in one week.
/Bring on the JETS.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:56 AM
And no, i won’t be shitting on the Giants today.
But i will definitely be tuning into Francesa at 1 pm. He’ll rip them the way he trashes the Jets, right?
December 27th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
I just hope the top shelf of the podium can handle all those big strong American young men when they’re raising Old Glory to the highest point in the HSBC Arena.
The Americans 11 month journey will be culminated with GOLD!
December 27th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
Yeah, defense played well, but Jason Campbell and the Raiders collectively suck. Offense isn’t the same without at least an average slot receiver. Blair White tries hard and has great hands, but he’s just too slow and consistently out of position. I think they beat Balty or the Jets in the wild card and then go down hard to NE or Pitt.
December 27th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
Goddamn Colts.
It’s their division until someone takes it from them, Peyton played well when they needed him too and the Jaguars had a chance and couldn’t do it. Zero chance of them losing to the Titans next week.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:00 AM
And the Saints now have 3 commercials because of their Superbowl victory. I don’t know what else their fans are expecting
December 27th, 2010 at 10:01 AM
Glad you pointed out Revis is struggling, Bears radio guys made it clear Jets had the best secondary in the league. I think only 1/4th of that is true.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
Geez- its their fault the Saints are champs and we mow have to see that shitty commercial
December 27th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
You can only have soooooo many white wideouts on your team. One of them is bound to be slow.
/not a racist.

Re: the Auburn tickets. Less than 50% of the BCS game tickets go to Auburn and Oregon. The rest go to ???.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:10 AM

December 27th, 2010 at 10:11 AM

Rich, old white people entertaining other rich, old white people.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
It is. That and what they call Fiesta Bowl season ticket holders.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:13 AM
They must actually be going to the game since ticket prices are still so high. Upper deck seats going for over $1000 a pop and most that you find are in the AU or Oregon sections.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
Rough rookie year.
To put it mildly.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
You should.
Opens the door for GB to get in….and they are the better team, so it’s a good thing.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:15 AM
Once again like I thought media giving Bears d a pass while pointing out Cutler’s pick 6.
Eagles lit up Bears d too.
No Cutler, no playoffs.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:15 AM
And the Saints now have 3 commercials because of their Superbowl victory. I don’t know what else their fans are expecting
Neither do they since last year was the first year most of them were football fans.

December 27th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
GB isn’t getting in. A certain team from a certain Midwestern city with a certain diabetic celebrity pussy slaying quarterback will be crushing the dreams of Packer Backers everywhere.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Boom
December 27th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Does he just not play, or is he on IR or something? I thought he started when Revis was still out.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Cutler went over 3,000 yards in the victory, making him the first passer in franchise history to throw for 3,000 yards in consecutive seasons.
All you need to know about the Bears’ history.
I’m guessing they are the last franchise to achieve this.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
Have we signed the SC/Butters match for Saturday Night’s Main Event yet?
December 27th, 2010 at 10:19 AM
tough to quantify an expert in something like “football.” who qualifies? and what are the qualifications?

Hernia,
Have you sent Gruden the blank check on behalf of the Niners yet? I woke up late, so I wanted to make sure you handled it before I did.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:25 AM
Jersey won the belt. 287 dollars down the drain
December 27th, 2010 at 10:25 AM
I believe in this case the term “belt” is slang for a sexual act, in the same way that this is.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:28 AM
Pitt is somehow a 7 point favorite against Uconn tonight. Uconn is playing well and Pitt seems to be chugging along not looking too impressive. 7points seems like a lot even with it in Pitt.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:29 AM
he’s coming to cleveland. sorry brah.
/and before someone says something about cleveland being a shitty city at least it’s not filled with smug liberal fucks and queermos like SF

how does mario lemieux’s hands move so fast? it’s like they don’t move, they just appear in perfect place.
incredible.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:34 AM
Lotta love for a doll-looking guy who won 10 games once in his last six seasons.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:34 AM
No, no. You guys can keep Mangini.
Right on. I’ll ship it out UPS Red this afternoon.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:35 AM
all i said was gruden’s going to coach the browns, not that im in love with him.
/team mangini
December 27th, 2010 at 10:36 AM
Because he’s super!
/Thanks for asking
December 27th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
how does mario lemieux’s hands move so fast?
I’m convinced he could still be productive given nothing but PP time and the occasional regular shift.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
listen, i’d love to keep mangini but with holmgren running the show and gruden growing up a browns fan, and colt mccoy being a gruden love interest it’s hard not to consider the browns the logical landing spot.
but seriously…id rather keep mangini.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
I would love for Jim Harbaugh to get a look in Cleveland, but it appears as if he’s headed to Ann Arbor.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
Id much rather have Harbaugh than Gruden at this point
December 27th, 2010 at 10:38 AM
fuck the harbaughs.
both of em.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:38 AM
you know you wanna read this now.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:39 AM
Ugh. Why? NFL job > fading collegiate power
December 27th, 2010 at 10:40 AM
The longer a coach is away their flaws and failures are forgotten and the greater he becomes for no reason… See Cowher, Gruden, and Dungy.
/Does not apply to Billick
December 27th, 2010 at 10:40 AM
Dixon, I was about to say something similar. Bet Mario could run a solid powerplay still. Arguably the most skilled player of all time.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:41 AM
You watched this? You fucking watched this? I am fucking impressed. For fuck’s sake that’s fucking awesome.
/Boudreau’d
December 27th, 2010 at 10:41 AM
Well its Cleveland.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:42 AM
lol @ cowher.
nevermind the guy was in the ultimate situation for a coach with the steelers…didn’t have to worry about anything in the personnel department or make any serious decisions. yet, with a perennially loaded roster, cowher was one detroit bussing away from being the next marty schottenheimer.
but yea…give that guy full control.
/shit, at least marty won in multiple spots…cowher hasn’t proven he can do shit without the steeler safety net
December 27th, 2010 at 10:42 AM
SHUT UP FRANKLIN.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:43 AM
It’s his alma mater. He can come riding in on his white horse to save the day. I’m sure they are willing to shell out big bucks as well.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:43 AM
when’s dirt’s timeout done?
December 27th, 2010 at 10:44 AM
This.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:44 AM
Bet Mario could run a solid powerplay still.
Mario, Crosby, and Malkin on a PP. Not sure who would retriever pucks in the corner and the make the dirty plays but I’m not sure it would matter.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:44 AM
Spencer How dare you talk about a Texans coaching candidate like that
December 27th, 2010 at 10:46 AM
texans…you don’t want cowher. if you think kubiak squandered talent…
December 27th, 2010 at 10:46 AM
interesting.
Public seems to be all over UConn, I’m guessing based on the unbeaten record and seeing them on TV a few times.
Ken Pom has Pitt winning by 10. He also had Pitt beating Tenn handily … Pitt lost by like 15.
i like Pitt a lot this year, but 7 seems like a lot. If i took anyone, it’d be PItt (and i really like Kemba Walker)
December 27th, 2010 at 10:46 AM
been done. for days.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:46 AM
True, but Dungy > those two.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:48 AM
Somebody get this lady a blower…
December 27th, 2010 at 10:48 AM
Funny that winning one super bowl automatically makes you the best coach available. Both Cowher and Dungy were labeled as “they couldn’t win the big one” untill it took them both 9 or 10 playoffs runs to do it. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Cowher as a coach, but this demand of him getting 8 million and full control is a tad crazy.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:48 AM
Chucky in Houston would be a good fit.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:48 AM
Have the Dungy to Penn State rumors been thoroughly debunked yet?
December 27th, 2010 at 10:49 AM
meh…i don’t know how you can say dungy’s better than gruden considering gruden won an SB with dungy’s players. i mean, if gruden had peyton manning in his prime, i think he’d have more than one 10 win seasons in his past 8 years coaching or whatever the stat is.
/i just really don’t like tony dungy
//rest players in week 8!

I think he is somewhere in between the great coach people make him out to be and the average coach who got lucky and was Marty like that others seem to think. His best trait was taking average 8-8 type teams without a true QB to 11-5 type levels. He did this very early in his career in 92 and 93 and a few other times as well. He just didn’t know how to coach a team when it was clearly more talented. He was also afraid to rely on a QB to win a game unless his team was an underdog. That conservative approach allows you to upset teams when you are the lesser team and be upset when you are more talented. Either way I’m more happy with Tomlin.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:50 AM
If I get to choose between having the best QB or the best defense, I’m choosing the defense 10 times out of 10. Especially in January, when the elements favor the defense. Fuck Chucky.

Dungy is a better father than a coach. And that’s not saying much.

Ken Pom has Pitt winning by 10. He also had Pitt beating Tenn handily … Pitt lost by like 15.
The Tenn game was very discouraging. Pitt has played twice at the new Consol Center and looked bad both times(loss to Tenn and struggled against Duquesne). A good Pitt team is almost unbeatable at their home though. Like you said 7 is a lot and I doubt I will touch it either way. That said Uconn is a tad overrated after a hot start and Pitt always comes to play against the Huskies.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:53 AM
hold up…since when is marty schottenheimer an “average” coach?
dude won over 200 games in his career. playoff failings or not, no average coach has a 200-126-1 career record.
also…it’s easy to “take average 8-8 type teams without a true QB to 11-5 type levels” when you have defenses full of pro bowlers run by dom capers and dick lebeau.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:54 AM
Tomlin is awesome.

I bet you were proud of this one
December 27th, 2010 at 10:55 AM
no doubt.
all i said was gruden would have more 10 win seasons (regular seasons only) with peyton instead of the cupboard full of crap he chose in TB. also, was TB’s defense the same in 2005 as it was in 2002-03? it wasn’t as dominating as peyton was during both coach’s respective tenures.

@Spencer: Gruden choosing between San Fran and Cleveland is the equivalent of choosing between Adrianna Lima and Shawn Bradley.

Is it a Roundup only type of morning, or is a new post just not loading for me?
December 27th, 2010 at 10:56 AM
I do like Tomlin a lot, although he fucked up badly last year with how he handled training camp. All of the “experts” said it was the sofest camp they have ever seen and it showed during the whole season. We lost two or three games last year simply by missing tackles and dropped balls. That being said, he has done an amazing job this year by handling the Big Ben suspension. That could have been a disaster of a season if they fell down in those games.

Wait, Shawn Bradley is gay?
December 27th, 2010 at 10:58 AM
hold up…since when is marty schottenheimer an “average” coach?
I didn’t mean to say Marty was average. I meant people assume Cowher was average OR Marty like. Not saying they are the same. Marty is a very good coach.
also…it’s easy to “take average 8-8 type teams without a true QB to 11-5 type levels” when you have defenses full of pro bowlers run by dom capers and dick lebeau.
I agree but the years I am citing are years Cowher did not have either of those. Lebeau wasn’t the DC until 95 and the Noll team Cowher took over was not very good. The 04 team was coming off a 6-10 injury filled season and lost their qb in week 2. Luckily Ben was good. Cowher gets credit for a decent amount of the player choices/development as well. After Tom Donahue was ousted Cowher had more personal power than Colbert did.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:59 AM
Gruden is the “best” we have to choose from considering everything. I don’t want to give control to one guy, and Wonder Jed already said we were hiring a GM.
Plus, Jay Glazer said it. So it must be true.
December 27th, 2010 at 10:59 AM
Poor Kent Grahem and Mike Tomczak always get left out.

He still holds the record for most inexplicable INT in a Superbowl
December 27th, 2010 at 11:01 AM
lebeau didn’t take over until 1995, but dom capers was the DC before then and dom capers, while a shitty HC, knows defense. this point is inarguable.
and my point isn’t that cowher is a shitty coach. he’s not…he’s a decent coach. but he doesn’t deserve full control of a team in any way.
December 27th, 2010 at 11:02 AM
HA. Man did he suck. How did he not block some of those?
December 27th, 2010 at 11:02 AM
Tomlin is awesome.
This is my thought as well. As Mantis pointed out he has made a few mistakes but who hasn’t. Coming as a 4-3 guy he was smart enough to keep Lebeau on the staff. He also realizes Ben is his best player on offense and lets him try to decide the game most weeks. His worse season so far has been 9-7 which isn’t too shabby considering the injuries and whatnot. His job this year has been superb.
December 27th, 2010 at 11:02 AM
So Gruden, who had more say in choosing his shitty QBs, is ok with Spencer but Cowher, who didn’t, is overrated
December 27th, 2010 at 11:03 AM

/runs away crying
December 27th, 2010 at 11:04 AM

I agree with this 100%. I think giving any coach full control is a bad idea. Checks and balances are always a good idea.

The Browns play Pittsburgh this week. So I guess it’s the start of hate week for him.
December 27th, 2010 at 11:05 AM
no no no…both are overrated for different reasons.
December 27th, 2010 at 11:06 AM
na…i respect the steelers. i hope one day for the browns to be on that level so the rivalry can be reborn. and on that day, i will hate.

Its going to be annoying to hear how this is Cleveland’s SB all week. Although that would be good news because Cleveland would have no idea how to prepare for a SB.
December 27th, 2010 at 11:08 AM
lol.
December 27th, 2010 at 11:10 AM
we could just follow the steeler recipe…
step 1 – give players cattle steroids
step 2 – buy off refs
step 3 – put roofie in 2nd cousin’s iron city

IC Light. Gotta be slim to pick up the 2nd cousins.

No offense to its many fans here but I can’t get on board with wrestling talk…will say the only thing better than the Packers beating the Bears will be beating them two straight weeks which includes knocking them out of the playoffs
