Ballin’: Kobe F-Bombs Referees; Ron Artest Says: “The only person who never got ejected was Jesus”
Milwaukee 98, LA Lakers 79: A night after getting blown out in Portland following the news that point guard Brandon Jennings will be out 4-6 weeks, the Bucks went to Staples and shocked the Lakers thanks to a stirring 22-point effort from reserve Earl Boykins. In the video above, Kobe F-bombs the referees out of frustration late in the game, and is ejected. Afterward, Ron Artest said, “Rip Hamilton got ejected in Detroit. Bob Cousy got ejected … The only person who never got ejected was Jesus … I’m giving out some good quotes today, aren’t I?”
Dallas 105, Orlando 99: That’s four losses in a row for the Magic, and the last two came after trading for Arenas (1-6), the Michael Jordan of Turkey (2-11), and Jason Richardson (4-13). But they’ll be fine come April, that much we’re certain of, but there will be some playing time issues along the way, obviously. It’s like SVG felt bad for playing JJ Redick so little Tuesday, so he started him Wednesday. Dwight Howard collected 23 rebounds to go with his 26 points. Howard’s taken 20+ rebounds three games in a row, but he’s got ways to go (12.8 rpg) if he wants to catch Kevin Love (15.5) for the rebounding crown. Dirk passed Larry Bird on the all-time scoring list. Commenter Miggie Smalls offered this thought.
Chicago 121, Philadelphia 76: The Bulls led by 51 in the fourth quarter and were basically flawless, shooting 64 percent and dishing out 32 assists.
Golden State 117, Sacramento 109, OT: Another embarrassment for the Queens. The Warriors were without two starters (Steph Curry and Biedrins, again), played only eight guys, yet managed to rally from 16 down in the fourth quarter on the road, and won in overtime. Monta Ellis – who we’re still surprised the Nuggets have no interest in – scored nine of his game-high 36 points in OT. Here’s Vlad Rad’s 28-foot buzzer-beater that forced the extra session.
Oklahoma City 99, Charlotte 81: Is it time to blow up the 9-19 Bobcats? Let’s see … who on this roster is keepable? Er, um … nobody? They’re turnover-prone (2nd) because Raymond Felton is gone; their defense has fallen off from last year because they miss Tyson Chandler. The roster is littered with bad contracts. They should start by offering up Captain Jack to anyone who needs a shooter for the playoffs, and see if they can get an expiring deal in return. Under no circumstances should the Knicks have any interest in anyone on this roster.
New Jersey 101, Memphis 94: Hey Carmelo, look, the Nets aren’t terrible! They’ve won 3 of 4! Power forward Kris Humphries has five double-doubles in the last seven games! Brook Lopez is a stud! Jordan Farmar is a real nice backup point guard! As for Memphis, is there a reason OJ Mayo’s minutes have fallen sharply this year?

Lakers have been showing they are quite mortal this season. Making me nervous. The Sixers are terrible. We watched about 2 quarters of that game and Philly showed no pulse.

Next post will be on Rex Ryan’s Alt.com profile?

Wins this month for the Lakers:
Sac
Wash (2)
LAC
NJ
Ind
Phil
Toronto
And they have 3 losses vs Houston, Chicago, and Milwaukee.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:35 AM
The Mavs are really good. Chandler has brought some much needed defense in the paint and rebounding. They have been without the young French kid this season, too. They could be a real contender.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:35 AM
Tyreke Evans sucks.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:36 AM
Homer J. Payaso with a gem.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:37 AM
Artest needs to shut the fuck up and get in the gym and work on his jumper. Shooting airballs on short corner 3′s rarely happens in my fucking rec league…
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:37 AM
And I don’t expect much from Hedo this season and he should be coming off the bench. It’s not like he’s ever been that good to begin with.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:39 AM
So much for MikeNYC’s Philly moneyline.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:39 AM
I like Ron Artest so much more than I used to.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:42 AM
This. I detest that clown.

I love Artests quotes. If he wasn’t such a piece of fucking shit I’d like the guy.

But the Sixers were getting +220!

Pretty sure Pontius Pilate disagrees on this.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:51 AM
How are you not rooting for the Bulls?
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:51 AM
I know Ron Ron is a little nutty, but when you say that at the end of your answer, it’s obvious you’re actually trying to say dumb things to get a rise instead of whatever you actually think about the game.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:53 AM
Really? He’s basically JR Smith.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:53 AM
The only person who never got ejected was Jesus …
the media is going to literally crucify Bryant for this gaffe.

Lakers have been showing they are quite mortal this season. Making me nervous.
For a veteran team going for a three-peat they have played several games where the focus or effort has just not been there.

December 22nd, 2010 at 10:59 AM
That was a great effort by the Bucks last night. I like Skiles with this group of guys, but always nervous about a team quitting in the NBA no matter who the coach is. I don’t think they will and should be a very difficult draw in the first round of the playoffs.

pineapple.
at my local grocery, they sell it cored for the same price as whole. Those things will wreck a butcher knife. But I”m going with coconut as the fruit you most don’t want to have a whole one of. Turns out the inside isn’t sweet, and the milk isn’t good.

They’ve IR-ed six safeties now this season. Pretty nuts.

ok… obviously i should have clarified that i meant more difficult to eat on the run. i’ve never seen someone walking to catch a bus/train/cab while carving a pineapple, smashing a coconut or preparing a pomegranate.

I used to be a Kobe fan until all that shit in Colorado. I am well aware that Kobe is a first class dickhead, but being a Laker fan since birth you just sort of have to deal with it/him. I have no idea how some one who is not a Laker fan can not hate him….
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:15 AM
guess that will happen when your front seven can’t stop the run.
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:16 AM
that’s very reasonable.
if only karma, husker and cursed had such a grounded view.

i hate the lakers, but love watching Kobe play.
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:18 AM
I know he’s an asshole. I choose not to care. I appreciate that he is the best basketball player of his generation and will go down as one of the 10 best players ever. Trust me, I am not blind to his faults. But as a fan of the game, you have to appreciate just how good he is. His work ethic is Jordan-esque. That alone is worthy of praise.
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:18 AM
Which is perfectly normal, and they do it every year. No need to be nervous. Three-peat’s a-comin

Not if they have to take on Dallas and then San Antonio in 7 game series without homecourt. Lakers only chance is to catch the 1 seed and insure Dallas and San Antonio take each other out.

When he is playing well I agree, I have seen so many more games where he is 10-32 shooting for 32 points it makes me sick…also, it seems the hardest shot in basketball to make is a wide open jumper off a pass by Kobe, it’s like there is added pressure to make it because he passed it, mf’ers continually throw up rocks off his passes.
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:24 AM
best basketball player of his generation? i dunno…i consider him and duncan in the same generation and, frankly, all those attributes you give to kobe are equally applicable to duncan.
kobe’s great and everything, but i’d still put lebron over him as an individual player over the past four years. and duncan was better during kobe’s prime. much like jeter, im not saying kobe isn’t great, but that he’s not heads and shoulders better than his peers because he works hard and plays in a big market.
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:25 AM
It’s amazing to think what 20 years will do. Had Jordan come on in Kobe’s era, he would be scrutinized much the same way as he was an asshole and a pussy fiend just like Kobe. Jordan was just lucky that he missed the blogoshphere.
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:26 AM
Very true.
Fuck.No. Kobe is an all-time great. Jeter is not.
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:27 AM
Dwight might average 25 boards a night with Gilbert and Hedo clanging shots all night. Gil is and always has been insanely overrated.
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:28 AM
They’ll have it.

I agree 100% I was just telling a friend that Dallas is looking incredible so far this season.
also, it seems the hardest shot in basketball to make is a wide open jumper off a pass by Kobe, it’s like there is added pressure to make it because he passed it, mf’ers continually throw up rocks off his passes.

Kobe really played up the fact that he wasn’t like that, which I bought into. That’s probably what pisses me off the most, I bought into his bullshit image…
December 22nd, 2010 at 11:32 AM
Well, I hate to sound like a jaded fan, but that was a you problem. I’d venture to say 8/10 athletes are more like Kobe/Jordan when it comes to banging women than not.
