To be fair, it’s been one of the more heated rivalries in the Eastern Conference the last 3-4 years. Not on the level of say Pens/Flyers but as good as any other.

Caps-Pens is a rivalry because of the Ovi/Crosby comparisons.

Flyers-Pens is becoming close to blood feud status; especially now, with both teams playing really well (that game the other night was well played and reasonably clean by Flyers/Pens standards).

Even Pens fans I know would rather have had the Flyers in the Winter Classic than the Caps.

They know nothing of hockey superstitions.

I don’t know much about Hawks/Wings, but the Pens have pretty much owned the Caps for about 20 years. Lots of Caps seasons have ended with them shaking hands with the Pens after a game 6 loss.
