Ballin’: Joakim Noah’s Surgery Could Help Knicks Get Homecourt Advantage in the Playoffs
Boston 118, New York 116: This is one of those rare times where we’re thrilled ESPN hyped the shit out of this game. The Garden rocked, the game lived up to expectations, and even in defeat, it’s pretty clear Amare and the Knicks are a solid team in the East. All Amare does is top 30 – he scored 39 and collected 10 rebounds, but it should have been 42, because maybe the Knicks should have had :00.6 on the clock after Pierce’s jumper. (Or :00.8) The Knicks host the Heat Friday, but after four starters played 42+ minutes, will they have enough in the tank? New York must find some answers off the bench or this team will tank in the 2nd half.
San Antonio 92, Milwaukee 90: How is this travel not called? Horrible no-call.
Philadelphia 105, LA Clippers 91: Because you care about Blake Griffin – 20 points, 18 rebounds in 39 minutes. Interesting parallel – Evan Turner was booted from the starting lineup, and the 76ers have won five of seven. Obviously strength of schedule should be taken into account, but …
Chicago 110, Toronto 93: So maybe we won’t get to see much of the Bulls at full strength? Joakim Noah will be out 8-10 weeks following surgery today on his thumb. He’s expected to be out for at least the next 30 games. Conservatively, we’ll project a March 15th return. The good news is that the door is ajar for the Knicks to possibly sneak into that 4th playoff spot (we’ve got Boston, Miami and Orlando in the top three spots) and get homecourt advantage in the first round.
LA Lakers 109, Indiana 94: Roy Hibbert’s having another terrific season with the Pacers (14 points, 8 rebounds per game), putting to rest all those doubts about his ability coming out of Georgetown. But here’s Pau Gasol going to work on him. Still kicking myself for taking Indy +5. I should have paid closer attention to this tweet from Matt Barnes.
Dallas 103, Portland 98: Blow up the Frail Blazers? That’s what John Canzano says. Perhaps they can retain Patty Mills, who throws a nice lob pass.

That Knicks/Celts game was great entertainment. Awesome game.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:04 AM
The Phoe-Knicks looked pretty good last night but it was typical D’antoni ball. Close game. Comes down to the end. they can’t get a stop and then get stopped.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:07 AM
go cavs. god i hate this roster.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:08 AM
Knicks false hope is through the roof!
December 16th, 2010 at 11:08 AM
who played the 5 for boston last night?
December 16th, 2010 at 11:08 AM
Terrible no call, but I’m liking this team a lot more than earlier. That’s two great comebacks on the road as noted by MUWarrior.
Bogut was awesome last night.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:09 AM
lol clownzano. goes from potential dynasty two years ago to blowing the team up. rofl

That Knicks/Celts game was great entertainment. Awesome game
+1
This game, and the Knicks/Nuggets game on Sunday, have been better then anything the NFL put out this weekend.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:09 AM
Oh, Garrett Wolfe.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:10 AM
who played the 5 for boston last night?

Rulers on the table, gentlemen pull out your dicks.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:11 AM
Roy Hibbert’s having another terrific season with the Pacers (14 points, 8 rebounds per game), putting to rest all those doubts about his ability coming out of Georgetown
no doubt, but people need to start giving credit to the big man he worked out with over the summer
December 16th, 2010 at 11:11 AM
False, Bulls will still win their division.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:13 AM
Was it really a travel on Manu? Looks like two steps and a jump stop. Asking honestly because I’ve watched it 5 times and I still don’t know.
Laughable. Your own clock operator messed up and Amare took too long to shoot.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:14 AM
Oh I see you have met D’antonis rotation. They better start getting Amare less minutes.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:15 AM
I feel like he doesn’t get his due, but what due would be proper for him to get?
December 16th, 2010 at 11:16 AM
Once the Bucks get Delfino back they are going on a run. Book it.
Fear the Deer.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:17 AM
I’m gonna need a yardstick. Garnett owned Amare at the worst possible time last night. It was sad. I’m just happy that this team is playing well against tough competition. Can’t wait til Friday.
Boston is going to murder everyone if they are healthy come playoff time.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:18 AM
He needs to play like this for a full season and he will get it.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:19 AM
I think his due should be higher than Paul Mokeski or Rick Smits, and maybe just below Tom Chambers.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:19 AM
Hey Jersey, you know what occured to me this morning? We get to see Michael Floyd vs. Brandon Harris at the Sun Bowl. Should be an awesome match-up.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:19 AM
Always looks like the crowds at NBA games are the douchiest in sports. I saw video of the NY fans when they thought they won last night, then the San Antonio one above… maybe the camera just finds the douchiest ones celebrating.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:19 AM
Don’t think the Bulls can fall lower than the 4 seed as the Central winner
December 16th, 2010 at 11:20 AM
The Bulls’ schedule is Charmin soft the next month. They will be fine.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:20 AM
Is that still how they do their seeding? Haven’t really had to care about a division title and the playoff seeding since they went to three per conference
December 16th, 2010 at 11:20 AM
I was under the impression Knicks can’t get better than the 5 seed unless they have a better record than the South East division runner-up (Orl/Mia). Assuming the Bulls win their division, they are guaranteed a top 4 seed. Unless this has changed this year?
December 16th, 2010 at 11:20 AM
That is going to be pretty baller. I mean, Harris is going to get pretty dusted, though.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:21 AM
That’s kind of ironic in a way. My buddy sent me a text last night saying Amar’e walks every time he gets the ball in the pick-and-roll. LOL.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:22 AM
still the same BrawnyTom
December 16th, 2010 at 11:23 AM
Tom Chambers. Legend.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:24 AM
If I was a rich white guy (or Spike Lee) sitting courtside, I’d act extremely douchey too. All. The. Fucking. Time. But they are no worse than the extremely drunk people at NFL games.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:25 AM

high5 mr loverman
December 16th, 2010 at 11:25 AM
Possibly. Depends on whether Allen Bailey can go Terminator vs. Slider on whatever your backup QBs name is.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:26 AM
Thanks Irish, I thought so.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:26 AM
Wesley Matthews would be scoring 20ppg on the Jazz right now and possibly be an all-star. Howd that guy not get drafted?
Knicks seem to have some great chemistry right now. I think adding Melo to the mix would be interesting. They could use a decent big to pair with Amare and little more depth, but then again, who couldn’t?
December 16th, 2010 at 11:26 AM
This would be you?
December 16th, 2010 at 11:26 AM
Nah the extremely drunk people aat NFl games are just morons. These NBA high rollers are popping their collars and have blu tooth headsets I’m sure.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:27 AM
December 16th, 2010 at 11:28 AM
@Dr Tom- kid is ballin this year
December 16th, 2010 at 11:28 AM
How dare those fans celebrate!
December 16th, 2010 at 11:29 AM
TBL: Quick change the title! It’s the same mistake Simmons made last night saying Bulls won’t fall further than 6th. Even if IND gets the Central though, NYK has to beat one of BOS/MIA/ORL to get into the 3rd spot
December 16th, 2010 at 11:29 AM
White people are pissed at the Thor movie?
December 16th, 2010 at 11:29 AM
I don’t know about the blue tooth headsets, but I would be doing my best Diddy impression, for sure.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:30 AM
I always thought the NBA crowds were under a different influence. Don’t see a whole lot of drunkards at Bulls games.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:31 AM
Haha, “Marvel Studios doesn’t want white people to have anything unique to themselves.”
Translation: The president is a *****!
December 16th, 2010 at 11:32 AM
The Bucks are the only threat but they’d have to get as hot as they did last season…Noah gut hurt, not Rose
December 16th, 2010 at 11:33 AM
I think Red Sox fans have the douche belt locked up for a century, at least.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:34 AM
Yeah, I see them more as the sniffing coke in the bathroom during halftime type.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:34 AM
No one tailgates for NBA games.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:34 AM
TBL…lets see the Knicks do it for a sustained period. Their defense is awful before you start going home court on us.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:34 AM
NYK has to beat one of BOS/MIA/ORL to get into the 3rd spot
and we all know that aint happening
December 16th, 2010 at 11:34 AM
What’s good at Carson’s?
December 16th, 2010 at 11:35 AM
Also, Brandon Harris is going in the 1st round for a reason. He plays CB. But wait, he’s also pretty good at it & is big enough to hang with Floyd
December 16th, 2010 at 11:35 AM
Yeah, I see them more as the sniffing coke in the bathroom during halftime type
not if you have a rocket
December 16th, 2010 at 11:36 AM
The president is near?
December 16th, 2010 at 11:37 AM
The top four seeds will be the three division winners plus the team with the next best record. Those four will be ordered by record (and tiebreakers if needed), so it’s possible that two teams in the same division could hold the top two spots, with the other two division winners at Nos. 3 and 4.
I can’t see Knicks having better record than the Magic.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:40 AM
No. We don’t know.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:42 AM
You don’t need a good defense to get a top seed in the East. winning regular season games under D’antonis system has never been a problem.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:43 AM
I actually saw Indiana play a few weeks ago versus OKC, where they were winning all game until the last 5 minutes. They have to figure out how to close games, but if not this year, could be good next year… I learned a few things..
Westbrook > Durant. He’s fantastic to see in person.
Josh McRoberts is a legitimate NBA 7th man.
Mike Dunleavy looks like the worst guy in a pickup game and is scared every time he gets the ball, he’s AWFUL.
December 16th, 2010 at 11:48 AM
If I was a rich white guy (or Spike Lee) sitting courtside, I’d act extremely douchey too. All. The. Fucking. Time. But they are no worse than the extremely drunk people at NFL games.
I would be Robin Ficker
/google him, yungins

No mention of the Hornets’ 23 point comeback against the Kings? Biggest comeback in team history? No?
