Cam Newton’s Hail Mary Touchdown Pass to Darvin Adams in the SEC Championship Game
All, College Football, Video December 4th. 2010, 6:38pm
Cam Newton threw a Hail Mary TD that was tipped and caught by Darvin Adams on the last play of the first half in the SEC Championship game. It lifted Auburn to a 28-14 lead over South Carolina. Newton’s stats through two quarters: 280 yards passing, three throwing TDs and one rushing TD. Not a bad first half of the SEC Championship game. The winner will play Oregon – which is about to defeat beat Oregon State in the Civil War, 37-20 – for the National title.

Auburn is about to wrap it up, so this will be completely worthless argument – but no way does South Carolina jump 18 teams to make the NC game with a win.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:45 PM
TBL, what would the games be like if your playoff proposal was adopted?
/full disclosure, I want a +1 system
December 4th, 2010 at 6:46 PM
garbage
December 4th, 2010 at 6:47 PM
guess at the Vegas line for Auburn/Oregon? and the over/under?
I’m guessing Auburn -3.5
and the over/under 62
December 4th, 2010 at 6:47 PM
JHS
You raise me up bro.
/ you raise me up
December 4th, 2010 at 6:48 PM
The winner will play Oregon
Let’s go Cocks! 21 down isn’t impossible!
December 4th, 2010 at 6:49 PM
Opening line, Auburn -2, O/U 71
December 4th, 2010 at 6:49 PM
About two thirds capacity at App State (1 seed) playoff game today. Terrible home support. Every regular season game sold. PLAYOFFS RULE!
December 4th, 2010 at 6:49 PM
Doneskies.
Go Cheaters! You can shop your players around for money, but don’t you dare have a BBQ at your house with recruits!
/Fuck you SEC.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:49 PM
TBL, just talked to a “guy” that is damn close.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:49 PM
That big? I’m going to guess Auburn -1.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:50 PM
Ugh. What pisses me off even more than that is bitch rod talking shit. Dude, we just want wins, don’t tell me about it, win a fucking game.
and I’m going to get a push in the Oregon game and lose the over bet unless the Ducks want to score a TD here.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:50 PM
Oh and Over under: 66
December 4th, 2010 at 6:51 PM
Lets hold hands. You raise me up.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:52 PM
I love stats like “first 12-0 start in school history”
December 4th, 2010 at 6:52 PM
I’m with you, Senator. As I tweeted TBL, I think this will be closer to a pick em. the over is going to be ridiculously high.
I guess I will be pulling for the Ducks, as I’d rather get kicked in the nuts than see Chizik win.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:53 PM
I really like Chip Kelly, btw. He gives the best answers to everything. He seems so unguarded all the time
December 4th, 2010 at 6:54 PM
28 is though. Ballgame.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:54 PM
wow- that was sort of incredible.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:54 PM
and the rout is on. wake me at 745 for the noles game
And Crouton – any way you can raise up my Cent Sport account after the Hit I’m taking today?
December 4th, 2010 at 6:54 PM
And game. I’m happy for the establishment today.
Auburn is going to kill Oregon.

I haven’t thought they had a shot since it went to 21-7, I just thought The winner will play Oregon for the National title was funny phrasing
December 4th, 2010 at 6:57 PM
there isnt a god. Oregon won. this is unbearable.
Opening line will be Auburn -1.5
Over-under: 73
December 4th, 2010 at 6:57 PM
Cam still needs one more TD passing or rushing to get to 50, right?
December 4th, 2010 at 6:57 PM
So, Key Arena didn’t blow up when the SuperSonics left.
/watching Gonzaga get blown out.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:58 PM
Imagine how good Auburn would be if they wouldn’t have been racist and hired Turner Gill.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:58 PM
Remember how excited Fetch was about KU making that hire?
December 4th, 2010 at 6:59 PM
No clue on the line, but it is a fun matchup on paper.
/Auburn is going to assrape Oregon.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:59 PM
Fuck Oregon for winning by 17 when the line was 17.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:59 PM
First EDSBS, then this shit? We’re a centsports group here, gtfo.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:59 PM
Remember how excited Fetch was about KU making that hire?
I love Fetch, but I don’t get is love for Gill. The guy is in way over his head and it is only KU football.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:00 PM
Auburn’s D-line is going to ass rape, then ATM Oregon.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:00 PM
Do think he turned on him eventually.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:02 PM
I still don’t think they have the horses in coverage to domintate the way OSU did last year.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:02 PM
/watching Gonzaga get blown out.
This sounds like fun. What channel is it on?
December 4th, 2010 at 7:03 PM
Change love to like and I totally agree.
Chizik sucks btw, he will burn out quickly after newton is gone.
And I hope ya’ll bet on Auburn so the line moves and I will clean up with the Ducks +4.
Jay- good to see you back
December 4th, 2010 at 7:03 PM
I’m a Pac-10 guy and what makes Oregon tough imo, is that they make you guard sideline to sideline and when you do, they hit a big play right up the gut.
I think Auburn is fast enough to protect the inside and still cover the edges. In the Pac-10 we have to guard one or the other, if we cheat to the edge, they hit up the middle. I think Auburn’s speed is the difference.
Plus Oregon wears teams down with the high paced offense, I think the extra long halftime will make it so Auburn will be so fresh to start the 3rd qusrter, it’d be hard to wear them down Stupid point but things I think about, lol.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:04 PM
I smell a sexy wager.
Chief, we are going to blows shortly.

December 4th, 2010 at 7:04 PM
Should I go all in tonight?
December 4th, 2010 at 7:05 PM
ESPN, but since I said it, Zags been on a run.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:07 PM
Auburn-Orgeon should be tremendous, and I’m not just saying that to honor Jesse Palmer’s good hair day.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:07 PM
Auburn will have its hands full with Oregon. Oregon is REAL fast.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:08 PM
Pffft… No HNIC post?
/also moves on
December 4th, 2010 at 7:10 PM
Even with The beast that is Newton, I’m rolling with the Ducks. Chip Kelly is a much better coach than Chizik.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:11 PM
Before you move on, TBL, I just want to say 2 things. One: you opened with Auburn won’t be Bo Jackson-1983-good and two: the comments on that post are hilarious. Oh, how terrible we all are at making predictions
December 4th, 2010 at 7:12 PM
I will take Auburn and give 3 right now for anyone who wants action.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:14 PM
I’m assuming everyone else found the earlier in the game discussion of USC faking injuries to slow down Auburn incredibly weird right? Also how he said all of that and then said nobody is accusing anyone.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:14 PM
still am.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:17 PM
the best part of that sleeper preview of TBL’s is how Cam Newton was a goddamned nobody. It’s funny how this guy just came out of nowhere.
Bulldog, I’ll take Oregon and either the three you’re offering, or whatever it goes off at. One caveat, whichever of us loses gets to welsh on the bet after the game.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:18 PM
Try not to pull a muscle patting yourself on the back.
Line should be Aub -16.5
December 4th, 2010 at 7:18 PM
I would take it. but you’ll just end up jinxing me during the game.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:18 PM
Two loss teams that lose to Clemson don’t make the title game though.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:19 PM
I’m in. Auburn -3 it is.
Sidenote, if the NCAA accidently gets proper and Newton is out, bets off.
Newton wasn’t a nobody if you knew what was up(points at self)
December 4th, 2010 at 7:19 PM
Care for a screen name bet on that one, coop?
December 4th, 2010 at 7:20 PM
Holy shit that was a loud crowd reaction when the pens scored in columbus.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:20 PM
I found it weird in the moment too, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt as just laying down a rhetorical marker ahead of time in case it really became relevant. That’s why he also threw in something like, “we should keep an eye on it”. That was an awkwardly-worded placeholder, mostly.
/nobody’s making excuses for anyone, but we should keep this in mind
December 4th, 2010 at 7:22 PM
Florida really fucked up dumping him. I was never high on Brantley as a recruit, and all this Brantley is better than tebow shit was a joke.
Newton should have been the heir apparent to tebow
December 4th, 2010 at 7:22 PM
That has the making of epic.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:22 PM
Yeah whatever team he was talking about doing it before (Cal maybe?) he said flat out they did it then said he wasn’t saying they did it. I bet there was a producer losing his shit in the earpiece.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:22 PM
Something like “I’d kiss a dude for 16.5 pts”?
December 4th, 2010 at 7:22 PM
Penguins fans outnumbering Blue Jackets fans in Columbus. Contract the state of Ohio.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:22 PM
Cal did the fake injuries.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:23 PM
please do read the comments on that Auburn sleeper post. good times. Husker, wanna check in?
December 4th, 2010 at 7:24 PM
Looking at the date on that post I think I was getting jacked off by a stripper in Vegas at the time. So I win.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:25 PM
SC > Husker on college football
December 4th, 2010 at 7:25 PM
I said last week I’ll be betting on Auburn in the championship up to -9.5, I think.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:26 PM
Nice job, SC
December 4th, 2010 at 7:26 PM
Y’all got a stream for Pens game? Center Ice fails me again by not having it in HD. I’ve got HNIC Leafs and Bruins.
Garland just threw something at his TV I bet.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:27 PM
SC also had Mich St as his sleeper which turned out OK, too
December 4th, 2010 at 7:28 PM
same thing happens when the wings are in C-Bus.
Happened last night at the arena FKA the Pond.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:28 PM
Tracy Wolfson just drank steroids
December 4th, 2010 at 7:28 PM
TBL, you gotta give mad props to Husker to his his high school alma as they advanced to the Georgia State championship game. I’m sure he was a towel boy or in the band or something while at Starrs Mill HS.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:28 PM
Yeah Wings fans get outnumbered by fans dressed as empty seats at the Joe too.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:28 PM
Sideline reporter just drank “cam juice” while cam laughed his ass off nearby. CBS is really stupid to fall for that.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:29 PM
I really said that? I also picked them to win the Big Ten last year… can’t win ‘em all I guess.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:31 PM
This Jenny Dell chick is super hot
December 4th, 2010 at 7:31 PM
my future brother-in-law played football for Starrs Mill a couple years back.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:31 PM
Right here SC
December 4th, 2010 at 7:31 PM
We do have to give TBL credit on Auburn and the Bears in the NFL this year. I tip my cap.

nobody really had any faith in Auburn in those comments. Even JayV had them losing to MissSt early.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:32 PM
Thanks, Mantis. The Bruins are going to run away with this I have a feeling so I’ll need something to flip to by the 2nd period.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:32 PM
Timmy fucking Thomas, on his way to another shutout tonight.
/shutout, shutout, shutout
December 4th, 2010 at 7:32 PM
Whoa.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:33 PM
Hey, look at comment 111 on that sleeper thread! I called everything right!
December 4th, 2010 at 7:33 PM
@chicago, small world. Every body not in district hates SMHS.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:34 PM
We do have to give TBL credit on Auburn and the Bears in the NFL this year. I tip my cap.
Texas A&M was just fine, too, in terms of being a sleeper. And UNC exploded before they got a chance. I think he was also on Kansas City Chiefs, who might finish 10-6. And the Redskins, who might finish 6-10. And his superbowl game had Dallas in it.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:34 PM
Now that I read that thread, I’m confident I was taunting Sparty and Parrish. It is quite funny that both those picks turned out to be true.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:35 PM
I like you Moleman. but you are the biggest wing hater here. and that is saying something when Fetch is around.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:36 PM
Wasn’t the A&M pick just that they would get more than 7 wins? That was a solidly correct call
December 4th, 2010 at 7:36 PM
As a Cowboys fan, what did you have them at before the season started Dirt? Playoff bubble team?
December 4th, 2010 at 7:37 PM
Didn’t one of this site’s writers predict the Mariners to win the WS?
December 4th, 2010 at 7:37 PM
I resent this.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:37 PM
Okay sorry, JUST in Stanley Cup Final game sevens.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:37 PM
Sidney Crosby > you
December 4th, 2010 at 7:38 PM
for sure, bulldog. obv my fiancee went there, too. Gods (husker) and I found that pretty funny when we had our TBL-ATL day out over the summer and I found out he went there. not sure if he was a towel boy, but it seems likely.
/just kidding, gods.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:38 PM
Sid’s scoring streak continues. 4-0. Columbus, ouch.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:38 PM
Let’s not forget that I had the Hawkeyes at worst as 10-2. Real Nostradamus here… What a faceplant of a season this was.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:40 PM
It’s ok, SC, I truly believed Miami would go 11-1
December 4th, 2010 at 7:40 PM
JHS I know the playoff attendance issues the Wings have had were due to economic issues largely but that doesn’t mean I cannot make fun of a team that has empty seats for playoff games.
Speaking of where’s Lefty?
December 4th, 2010 at 7:40 PM
Sid Crosby > anyone in the league
December 4th, 2010 at 7:41 PM
BOOM
How did I miss that day? I live in Peachtree Vegas
December 4th, 2010 at 7:41 PM
As a Cowboys fan, what did you have them at before the season started Dirt? Playoff bubble team?
I thought the maximum number of games they could lose was 7, but that they could win 13. So both. I knew they had bad O line depth, and I was reasonably full of dread, but not as bad as it got, obviously. I thought they’d win the division.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:41 PM
crosby = whore
December 4th, 2010 at 7:41 PM
Nah, Spezza is a bigger pussy. But Sid is definitely close.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:42 PM
/until Rocco gets there
December 4th, 2010 at 7:42 PM
Columbus has a beautiful arena and it’s mad cheap, it’s pretty sad they don’t get any support.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:43 PM
At Piedmont Park with his husband.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:44 PM
I wonder if Atlantans masturbate to the Coca Cola polar bear commercials.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:44 PM
No one saw Tony Romo getting planted after a lookout block from his OL. Wade’s gone, Cowboys fans got at least got that wish. Dallas has so much talent that a high draft pick will only help them rebound next season. I guess they have to be a little concerned with Romo turning 31 in April. He’s got at least 3 solid years left though.
Leafs tied it. Someone must’ve drugged Tim Thomas before this game.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:45 PM
Or Kitna getting twice as many wins as Romo.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:47 PM
may or may not be true.
don’t know how you missed it, bulldog… me, Gods, NDub, Lefty, dwalthi, and (actually I think thats it) all met at Fado for the USA-ENgland game and drank from 9am to 5pm. pretty damn good time.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:47 PM
Leafs tied it. Someone must’ve drugged Tim Thomas before this game.
See comment #87.
/great number
December 4th, 2010 at 7:47 PM
Or Kitna getting twice as many wins as Romo.
or them beating Indy in Indy. There’s nobody left to have trouble covering in Indy, which is Dallas’s biggest problem. I don’t know where Reggie Wayne went, or why they gave some other guy his name and number, but that guy sucks now.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:48 PM
I’m outta here to get some beer.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:49 PM

December 4th, 2010 at 7:50 PM
That’s why I wasn’t there.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:53 PM
Cam Newton is from a different planet.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:53 PM
Hey now, lay off a little bit. He has one shitty game with Blaire White playing on the opposite side of him and now he sucks? 76 grabs for close to 1000 yards is pretty damn good in my book. Just sayin….
December 4th, 2010 at 7:54 PM
Agreed.
December 4th, 2010 at 7:54 PM
You saw Seguin isn’t playing in WJC, right?
I did, knew the chances were slim. A feel like a Bruins fan, they got hopes up and then ripped out my heart.
