New Cult Classic: ThanksKilling
Please, allow me, to introduce to you one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces ever made – ThanksKilling. My brother first alerted me to Thankskilling this summer. I checked out the trailer and realized that yes, I had to see this movie. I was not disappointed. ThanksKilling is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds.
Yes, its about a killer turkey. Yes, the acting is laughable and the dialog is ridiculous. Yes, the Killer Turkey has a Twitter page. Yes, I’m pretty sure its supposed to be. It even includes what I have to say is one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie – a turkey in glasses and fake mustache having coffee with a human in a turkey costume.
Its available many places for consumption this weekend – including Netflix Streaming. If you have 66 minutes to kill (hi-yo!) I implore you to check it out. Gobble gobble, motherfucker.

Sadly, in my four years at UVA we never beat Tech. The class before me (’08) was the first to go four years without beating Tech, mine followed, as did ’10, and now it looks likely that ’11 will meet the same fate. However, I feel confident that Mike London will make the ‘Hoos more competitive in the near future. Oh, and fuck Al Groh.

I was at VT two weekends ago for a conference and I had a chance to have a brief chat UVA’s Dean of Students who was attending too and he said the entire UVA campus community was in love with Mike London. London’s a Hampton VA native (me too) so mad props to him and best of luck to him helping you guys get back on track.

You have no idea how odd it is to be a Canadian who celebrates US Thanksgiving every year…but it’s life as normal all around me. (I’m off work until Monday…book vacation this time each year)
While I am getting the kitchen cleaned up, hitting the grocery store and yes, even taking in a high school football game tonight…the next couple of days mean squat to everyone around me. I’ll be watching football all day tomorrow, cooking a turkey and watching the dumb parade on tv with my daughter, but it just doesn’t feel the same. I think when I am dictator of Canada, I will declare the 4th Thursday of November to be celebrated as “NORAD Appreciation Day” and make it a holiday so we hosers can join in on the fun.
It ties in nicely with Grey Cup weekend too!

THANKS! I love that show… so so funny. I can’t remember which one I saw last but it was one involving a ghost in a lighthouse that was on a killing rampage. There were some pause-the-movie-because-I’m-laughing-so-hard moments.
