Matt Ryan Cruises Past Rams, Leaves Skid Marks
All, Farting, Goooooood Morning Sports Hernia, NFL November 22nd. 2010, 7:51am
Matty Ice threw for 253 yds and 2 TDs yesterday against the Rams while a uncooperative fire took place in his pants. Perhaps those seductive Tabasco commercials starring Mike Golic had gotten into his head before ordering lunch. Never again, hot sauce, never again. [via @MattSebek @ JSF]

TBL – I’m trying to get tickets to the Hawks at Knicks Saturday. got any good leads? nosebl33ds are going for $59 online…think I can do better scalping?
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:08 AM
you know who i feel sorry for? The equipment guy. He has to pick up these sharty pants off the locker room floor.
Also, did you see that Sam Bradford shovel pass to a defender for his first INT in 180 attempts? He did to a touchdown drive what Ryan did to his football trousers.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:08 AM
ha, wow. first time i actually tuned in to watch mike and mike, the little one looks like an even bigger douche than the last time i saw him. looks like all those bracelets are really working out for him.
/really wishes there was something better on during the day.

if we checked the white pants of the Manning brothers, think they also soiled themselves yesterday?

OMG! The Giants and Spartans have switched places!!!

The Giants have no toes left.
lots of gagging by the Giants in that game, even before the Eli Manning heroics. Jason Pierre Paul is not a hero.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:12 AM
Keep tossing athletes under the bus to make yourself feel better. It’s what you do.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:17 AM
even though Jeter isn’t under contract with the Yanks, is he available to help NY qbs slide?
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:18 AM
Awwwww. Sensitive Colts fans this morning. Tough loss. Chin up, kid – Jax ain’t winning that division, you know it. See you guys in the playoffs.
The Jets QB catches enough heat here, might as well get my shots in while he’s on top. Cause everyone knows this can’t last forever.
/but damn it feels good!

is calling someone ‘kid’ on the ‘net as disrespectful as it sounds when i read it?
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:20 AM
This is an interesting tactic to take when your QB threw an INT that should have iced the game with 2 minutes left yesterday. Keep skating by the dregs of the league and puffing your chest out, and the Pats will keep on beating quality opponents.
/see you Dec. 6th
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:21 AM
It’s worked to the tune of low seven figures so far. Maybe I should give it a try.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:21 AM
is calling someone ‘kid’ on the ‘net as disrespectful as it sounds when i read it?
Yep.
And TBL still finding a way to keep the chip on his shoulder about Sanchez is par for the course. He’ll be telling us how much Sanders has changed, and dangling the banhammer for all to see in a minute.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:22 AM
can’t ever give a team a second chance, and the Texans did just that. Otherwise we would be talking about how Sanchez threw a pick late. Goddamn shittiest secondary in the league.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:22 AM
LOL. You’re calling me a sensitive fan? People can hate on Peyton Manning all they want this morning. He was pretty damn special yesterday. So was Brady. That was some damn great football watching and the Colts did quite well for themselves considering the circumstances. The Colts’ LB dropped his pick, the Pats CB caught his. That’s the way it goes.
It’d be nice if the Colts could get some of their guys back for the stretch run, but I’m not sure if that’s actually going to happen. But I would imagine it won’t be a fun week around the New England practice complex.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:23 AM
well he was hit on the play, but yea, that was turrrrrible.
Come on, though, seriously – don’t be pussies, guys. If you can dish it – and everyone does – be able to take it.
And yes, CJ, I’m ready for the curb stomping 2 mondays from tonight in New England. I’m already looking at playoff scenarios if the Jets lose that one (looks like Chargers/Chiefs right now). The only question is whether the Pats win by 10 or 30.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:23 AM
Keep skating by the dregs of the league
seriously, just keep Edwards in bounds Texans, please. Please.
All credit to Sanchez for that last drive, but 3 actual plays in less than 40 seconds and 70 yards without timeouts? That defense was so, so bad. If Edwards gets tackled in bounds, it’s game over.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:24 AM
i don’t think the jets got lucky, but i do think they will have a much harder time against teams that are able to close out the close ones. they had a great schedule the past 3 weeks, they probably roll through the bengals, too.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:25 AM
I hope this wasn’t mentioned yesterday, but did anyone see the tweet by Garrard? It was something like “way to go Peyton, U da man????”. Wow.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:25 AM
But Peyton gets rushed/hit and you get to make fun of him. Got it.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:26 AM
What’s funny is that if Eli or Peyton don’t screw up the last drive, it’s, “Wow, what a comeback! Amazing!”
Of course with Sanchez, he’s done this 3 weeks in a row, but it’s, “Well, it’s the Lions. Well, it’s the Browns. Well, it’s the Texans.”
And yes, I FULLY expect the Bengals to be angry after getting humiliated by the Bills. And beat the Jets. not a reverse jinx. Just think the Jets have used up their magic.
And the defense blows.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:26 AM
I think most people on this site have been consistent in their assessment of Sanchez. He’s playing much better than most expected, but still has a lot to improve upon. There’s only a few people *raises hand* that irrationally hate on him no matter what.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:26 AM
i think people hating on manning are missing the point of what makes him the best QB in the league. he went for the big TD win and paid for it. it is who he is, and he won’t change. It certainly wasn’t a selfish move, but you can’t eviscerate him for that.

November 22nd, 2010 at 8:29 AM
I wouldn’t want to be Pierre Garcon this week, that’s for sure. So long as he’s the number two receiver, this team’s going nowhere. I think Manning trusts me as a receiver more than him right now.
/Yeah, yeah, in the butt
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:29 AM
Vet QB like Manning knows you are in chip shot range for OT. gotta throw it away. he wasn’t hit on the play.
/sidewager on the MNF game?
//ill need whatever points vegas is giving out
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:31 AM
All I know is I was on the fetal position the entire 4th quarter right after Nantz referred to the score of last year’s game(fuck you Nantz). Only Manning keeps the Colts in that game, just unbelieveable stuff. And say what you want about the defense, but shit if the offense can’t make a play in the 4th quarter anymore. You cant play conservative just trying to play the clock out, youve got to get 1st downs and sustained drives to stop Manning from even taking the field.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:31 AM
I’m not saying that about Sanchez at all, TBL. But I find what you say as pretty ironic. when you have it out for a particular player, you pull the same thing with luck or who they play. I hate bringing him up again, but the very first thing you pointed to when Hakeem Nicks went off the weekend after you put him on blast, was that it was against the Texans. You have also pointed out that you were buying the Giants because of the competition they dominated. Just enjoy the win. It is silly to try and compare him to Eli and Peyton, just like it is stupid when people compare Peyton and Brady.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:31 AM
No, absolutely not. He had plenty of time to take a shot to the endzone, and if I remember correctly he also had timeouts available to set up the FG.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:32 AM
And yes, I FULLY expect the Bengals to be angry after getting humiliated by the Bills.
they’re completely done. They’ve got 2-14 in their sites. How awful was that yesterday. Giving up 38 consecutive points to the Bills?
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:32 AM
I dished you a question in comment 6 and am ready to take an answer.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:33 AM
I’m Senator Jersey, and I approve this magic. I just heart Darth 18 and Eli too much to make fun of them.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:33 AM
gives up a lot of passing yards, but they are attacking the ball and getting to the QB on 4 man rushes.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:34 AM
Vet QB like Manning knows you are in chip shot range for OT. gotta throw it away. he wasn’t hit on the play.
there wasn’t any reason to throw that one away. He was going for the throat, and and the DB whose head he was throwing it over got it. Good play by the DB. Ballsy toss by Manning.
He didn’t want to play OT. He wanted to win the game.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:34 AM
It was first down, 37 seconds left, two timeouts. And I don’t blame him one bit for trying to win it. If the Pats win the toss, you really think the Colts’ D can force THREE straight punts? I don’t. Sometimes you get the breaks, sometimes you don’t. Like I said, the Colts’ defender dropped his INT, the Pats’ defender caught his. Game of inches.

Re: Garrard’s tweet, I don’t follow him on twitter so don’t know the context of the tweet.
But, he spent has spent time the last couple years grilling Peyton on game preparation, watching video, off season work. I don’t think it was meant as a slight.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:36 AM
Dear Steve Smith-
Please go live in a hyperbaric chamber until you are fully healed. Eli really misses you.
Signed,
Giants fans

The old Reggie Miller philosophy. Play for the win on the road.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:38 AM
Nicks was 1 game and people were ready to tag the guy Jerry Rice. I mean really … and for the 37th time, I never bashed Nicks. he has looked pretty good a few times since that Houston game. how’s this – to satisfy you, i can do a follow-up on that post after the season. good deal?
Giants beat up bad competition indeed. I’m glad i was never sold on them. Have now lost 2 in a row. Outside looking-in on NFC playoff race. This could easily happen to the Jets. i’ll be disappointed.

not really sure on tix. Last 2 times i went i got hooked up with tix. $59 for nosebleeds seems steep as hell, though. i’ve never scalped tix before, anywhere

November 22nd, 2010 at 8:40 AM
Friends had told me the Giants special teams were comically bad, they certainly lived up to that last night. And Blackmon is better than the previous fella?
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:44 AM
for the 37th time, I never bashed Nicks.
ask 100 people, 100 people will tell you that was a bashing.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:45 AM
And Blackmon is better than the previous fella?
he was terrible. The best was when he was back there still woozy from the braining he’d gotten on the muff/fumble/failed pickup thing. They had no other guy, or no coach to realize changing guys was a good idea.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:45 AM
you’re right, you just said a bunch of pedestrian WRs (Harvin isn’t a WR) were better than him. If anything, the guy has had 1 bad game all this season.
You’re right, the NFC isn’t as bad as people tried to make it seem.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:48 AM
the special teams are atrocious. I will never believe it is personnel on coverage. that’s friggin coaching. but Dodge sucks.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:49 AM
Not going to argue, but whether by accident or on purpose (seemed like a mixed bag) Jackson was a non-factor returning punts last night.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:51 AM
Giants are still a hell of a lot better than the Bears and the Bucs. How the next 6 weeks play out, I don’t know. Injuries hurt, obviously.
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:56 AM
sportsdork- giants don’t turn the ball over, they are looking great at this moment with the exception of the Colts game. but i don’t think that gets solved midseason. they will continue to turn the ball over the rest of the year.
