What I get a kick out of is that according to the most recent figures, baseball has revenues of like 150% and total profits in excess of 200% of the NBA. But according to these posts, MLB isn’t well run and the sport is less popular than the NBA. So how badly run must the NBA be to convert moroe popularity to worse results than the idiots MLB do?

I am aware of the ratings, but my point is that the ratings are not the barometer that can be used to determine a sport’s popularity.

sweeps period runs during the MLB playoffs (late Oct/early Nov). More people are in front of their TVs then then they are in mid-June. only 2 of the 5 World Series games were up against the NFL.

You keep wanting this to be particularly meaningful, but these two events grade on a different curve. Throw in the record setting Game 7 which the baseball series didn’t even have and you have a seriously flawed conclusion. That all assumes that ratings are somehow indicative of something meaningful int he first place.
The NBA is talking contraction and work stoppages. Salaries are almost certainly going to go down for players while ticket prices go up. Baseball has record profits and the big complaint that people have is that everyone makes too much money off the thing. Not sure why you keep insisting that its Baseball that is doomed.
That being said, they should lay off the litigation on the clips a bit.

Both should win, neither probably will.

In terms of profits they are the biggest sport in digital media, and its not close.
