Colin Cowherd Lands CBS Sitcom Deal
Colin Cowherd: “A project based on ESPN talk show host Colin Cowherd was picked up by [CBS]. His radio show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, is a syndicated program is known for Cowherd’s obnoxious commentary that sometimes results in headline-making arguments with players and fans.” We’re looking for a big-name actor who exudes obnoxious … we’ll open the floor to you, witty commenters. (Might as well assume Michelle Beadle gets a small part-time role; unless they give him a female producer – remember Amanda? – instead.) Wonder if Cowherd’s show will find more success than “Listen Up,” a bad sitcom that starred Jason Alexander, and was based on Tony Kornheiser’s life. Hey CBS people – if you need someone to portray a blogger in this incident, you know where to find me! I’ve got great ideas for the fast forward-moment three years in the future! Comedy Gold! CBS Exec: “Yeah, whatever, sign the deal. Those old shits will watch whatever we put on there, anyway.”

Can we cross-breed Jeremy Piven and Michael Richards?

Whatever your opinion of Cowherd, I think this says A LOT more about the lack of executive creativity and the threadbare nature of network television than it does anything else.

Sounds like the most idiotic, boring TV show ever. A TV show about Jay Mariotti would be more interesting than something about this dickbag.
November 15th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
So this gets picked up to be a series by the network, but yet everyone in Hollywood refuses to see the brilliance in my sitcom about the talk toilet? Retards.

This is how CBS makes their money.

sounds like a can’t miss. Scene 1, he says something outrageously stupid and unresearched, and every episode ends with him apologizing to people got offended, while not apologizing for the stupidity or lack of research.
I don’t listen to sports radio, i’m just justifying JPQ’s popcorn.

The Walking Dead… I really wanted to like it. But is anyone else bored? I’m going to ride it out. 3 left, right?

I’m thinking about getting HBO

Have the last two on DVR, haven’t seen them yet though. My guess (hope) is that it’s a slow burn type of series. Dexter dominates my Sunday nights. It was fantastic last night.
November 15th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
Yeah, I think it went something like, “I’m sorry for driving millions of people to your website, making it one of the most popular sports blogs and making you seven figures when you sold it a few years later.”
TBL gladly accepted the apology.

Scott Bakula perfect for this role

Yet, like I mentioned in the Roundup, it just doesn’t matter what the networks put out.

The only person in the world who got “screwed” worse than TBL was when NBC “screwed” Conan to the tune of $42 million, a successful comedy tour, a new series, and more fame and popularity than he ever had or deserves
November 15th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
I think we have our winner.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
Don’t like this part. Conan is a funny guy. Capitalizing on social media exposure/fluency makes me think he deserves whatever he gets. Plus, it’s not like he flaunted himself for 9 months while he was off the air. He went and did a standup comedy tour because he’s a standup comedian.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:10 AM
I’ll admit I enjoy Cowherd during football season (I don’t think he really believes what he says – ratings), but it was pretty funny when Ocho Cinco said, “Cowherd should just say ‘I don’t like that black guy.’ And your girl is cheating on you.”
November 15th, 2010 at 10:12 AM

Team Coco rallies and the tour disagree
He went and did a standup comedy tour because he’s a standup comedian.
he is? He’s a writer. He’s never done a stand-up tour before, maybe a gig here or there
November 15th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
would argue hes the most famous orville of all time
November 15th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
same here. the nice thing about his show, is you can usually listen to the first 5 minutes of the intro, and can get a flavor for what the rest of the show will be about.
like today, he opened with a Brady vs. Manning topic. so, I’ve officially tuned out and am listening to Presidents of the USA on youtube and will be transitioning to some Charlie Daniels Band in a few.

November 15th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
Oh Christ.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
Conan is not a standup comedian, he’s a tv writer. His monologue was always only 3 jokes for a reason. Not saying he is not funny, but standup is probably his weakest thing. I remember watching him when he first started Late Night, so painful. But he’s gotten better obviously.
However I still refuse to let him off for what he did to Terrance and Phillip.

How is the proposed Colin Cowherd Show not the long cancelled but equally lame, “Bette Midler Show,” which also aired on CBS? Can Bette do drag?
I would watch Bette tackle the lead in the “Colin Cowherd Show.”
