Ballin’: John Wall Registered His First Triple-Double
Washington 98, Houston 91: Let’s start with the bad news – Yao Ming strained a tendon in his leg in first quarter and never returned. John Wall registered his first career triple-double with 19 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds – and had just one turnover – as the Wiz won their second game of the season.
Golden State 122, New York 117: Wilson Chandler missed a 3-pointer that would have tied the game with :03 left, and David Lee (28 points) won his first game back at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks made more free throws (38) than baskets (36). I’m convinced that they’re giving Chandler free reign (9-for-20, 2nd on the team in shot attempts at 15 per game) in hopes that he goes off a half dozen times and Denver concedes that fine, they’ll take him in a deal (he’s cheaper!) over Danilo Gallinari (only shooting 35 percent this season, though he started the year hurt). Patience? No playoff wins since 2001? Just one playoff trip in the last nine years? How much longer should we wait?
Minnesota 98, Sacramento 89: Three reasons why this one was weird. 1) Michael Beasley scored a career-high 42 points. 2) Tyreke Evans only played 27 minutes, had more fouls (6) then points (5), shot 1-of-5, and turned the ball over five times. 3) DeMarcus “No D” Cousins has fallen in the rotation, significantly – he played just 13 minutes coming off the bench.
Utah 104, Orlando 94: Again? After being down 18 in the second half, the Jazz stormed back with a 24-2 run, dominating the 4th quarter against an Eastern Conference power – for the second night in a row! – and stunned the league with an impressive victory. When Jerry Sloan went to the 2-3 zone, the Magic looked confused, and, well, this is the stat that pissed us off most: Vince Carter attempted more 3-pointers (10), then Dwight Howard attempted shots (8). That. Cannot. Happen. Ever. Also, Orlando tripled up Utah on the offensive glass (18-6).
Milwaukee 108, Atlanta 91: The Bucks went into the ATL as 6.5 point dogs and blew out the Hawks on the strength of a 33-14 second quarter. After a 2-5 start, the Bucks have won their last two by a combined 44 points. Corey Maggette played 29 minutes, scored 20 points, and didn’t grab a rebound.
San Antonio 105, LA Clippers 97: The Paper Clips were without three starters (Gordon, Davis, Kaman) and fell to 1-8. Richard Jefferson scored 22 for the Spurs. He’s off to a blistering start – 58 percent shooting from the field, 53 percent from deep, and his scoring average is up to 18 from last year’s 12.

Colin Cowherd likes this.

too many turnovers killed the Magic. Deron Williams abused Jameer Nelson all night long and Al Jefferson had a good game against D Howard who was in foul trouble and was frustrated all night
John Wall had a career game against Ishmael Smith, congrats!

im pretty sure either AIDS from unprotected sex on castro street in SF or type 2 diabetes (in SVG’s case) killed the fagic.

Knicks need to trade for Nash. Now.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:36 AM
Kris Humphries is still in the league? He really could’ve been awesome had he stayed in school.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:36 AM
Probably more than eight games into the season.

Yao Ming strained a tendon in his leg in first quarter and never returned.
His body is just not built for the rigours of the NBA, it’s unfortunate. Went back to look at the 2002 draft, Amar’e turned out to be the best player.

heard a radio interview recently where the Nets said teammates claim Humphries is one of the most important players on the team. veteran, nice guy, smart, buncha crap like that.
i laughed.

for halo fans.

Pretty much a function of Howard’s foul trouble moreso than anything else.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:42 AM
That was the consensus at the time as well, but it was the ultimate boom/bust situation. Do you roll the dice on a kid that went to 5 high schools and by all accounts wasn’t exactly the best guy to have in a locker room? It’s how he slipped to Phoenix.

Work out a 3 team trade with Minnesota.
/Free Kevin Love
/Free Steve Nash

The funniest shootout attempt I have ever seen
November 11th, 2010 at 10:44 AM
That 7-2 pipedream you had going into this week blew away pretty quickly huh?

At least NJ only has to put up with him for another 15 years.

I saw your tweet about Howard’s 4th T of the year, irish. What the hell, man? Just playing angry?
November 11th, 2010 at 10:46 AM
You’re Yuneling my thunder, Bieber.

Thanks Tall Guy, I’m not well versed in bball, but I understand the character issue concerns.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:47 AM
irish what’s your twitter?

he picked up that tech for saying “you wont let me play” to the ref. guess he will end up missing a game this year because of it. oh well. Gortat step right in and dominate as usual

Waiting for Orlando to step up against a quality team. 1 decent win so far, and 2 collapses. ugh.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:52 AM

I thought the Angels had already gotten Crawford.

Who is this Zeller kid that is all over Twitter today? Is today some sort of decision day for college hoops next season?
November 11th, 2010 at 10:56 AM
So reach isnt supposed to be all that good then?
November 11th, 2010 at 10:57 AM
that’s the decent win I’m giving them credit for. Think they lack the cujones/heart to get past either Miami or Boston this year.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:58 AM
This guy’s a sports fan, ladies and gents…
Yesterday was LOI (Letter of Intent) signing day for high school seniors for college basketball, among other sports.
Zeller is the 3rd of 3 brothers from Indiana and supposed the best of the bunch. He is choosing between UNC, IU, and Butler. All the folks in Crimson and Creme are creaming their pants hoping that IU comes back to prominence when he signs to go to Bloomington.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:58 AM
na, reach is good. just making fun of halo’s frattery, that’s all.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:00 AM
He is deciding between Butler, UNC and Indiana. His brothers played at Notre Dame and UNC. This would be a huge get for Indiana or Butler.

havent played Boston yet, cant say anything about them right now. can admit Orlando was shell shocked vs Miami and D howard said after the game that some players on the team couldnt perform under the bright lights. still play them 3 more times during the reg season, i’d bet they finish the season series 2-2

also Kwame Brown, Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler were 3 of the top 4 a year before. So people were already gunshy on boom-bust high schoolers.
I like Yao. I’m sad for Yao. The NBA ought to pay Yao as an ambassador, some huge number of dollars.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:01 AM
And ND was able to land the retarded one.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:01 AM
i’ll take the magic in the playoffs over the heat any day of the week and twice on sunday.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:02 AM
Ah, I see. It’s bet it’s no Ocarina Of Time though.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:02 AM
They actually had a video tribute for David Lee. Ha.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:04 AM
Whaaaaa?
The Knicks are an embarrassing franchise.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:05 AM
I’m pulling for this. VC and Lewis scare me though. Lewis has proven he can disappear for multiple games, and VC, well, he’s just a worthless sack of dung.

So I assume you will be taking care of business when LeBron comes back to Cleveland…

November 11th, 2010 at 11:06 AM
We’ll see…health will be the primary factor in shaping my opinion of that one.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:07 AM
So Zeller is the next Tom Coverdale. Got it.
/doesn’t give a shit about college hoops til January
//Iowa is terrible in hoops
November 11th, 2010 at 11:07 AM
I will take the Jazz.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:07 AM
depends what you mean by taking care of business…
but watching bosh and haslem try and defend DHo will be HYSTERICAL. dunk city baby. might as well just have lebron try to defend dwight…
November 11th, 2010 at 11:09 AM
This will happen only if they remember to to throw the ball to him.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:12 AM
@wally Magic one of the worst passing teams in the league. Rafer Alston is truly missed
November 11th, 2010 at 11:18 AM
Nailed it. Us Indiana fans will take anything that reminds us of the glory years.
/Hopes IU finishes in the top half of the Big Ten this year.
//Knows it will never be the same.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:23 AM
Was a fan of IU during Knight era. It’s a real shame a better transition wasn’t made to Alford or another IU family member. Miles Brand was a shit.

All Colin likes is to tell everyone how popular he is in different radio markets. I would rather listen to a diesel pickup muffler for two hours than him for 5 seconds.
