I’m going to be careful with this, so I don’t get flagged… but A-Rod has a history of losing interest in relationships (not surprising for a star athlete millionaire I guess), liking overly muscled strippers (maybe it’s just not my thing), and always has a very ‘metro’ air about his looks/composure. Are we sure he’s not just in the closet? And I’m saying that not because I care either way, or that I hate the Yankees (though I do)… but because it would be the first story to ever shut down ESPN.com, if the first openly gay active athlete also happened to be one of the best in the sport? Can someone with greater writing acumen than I possess go ahead and write an article ennumerating evidence for/against that possibility?

As for A-Rod and any “rumors”…yes, it’d be the biggest sports story of the year. Likely the biggest story in sports since Magic Johnson’s famous HIV/retirement press conference.
But I don’t know whether A-Rod is nor do I care. For what it’s worth, if your evidence is a metrosexual lifestyle and a string of famous women hook-ups, then Derek Jeter would be lined up right alongside him.
