Anyway, DWades’s two kids are named Zaire Blessing Dwyane Wade and Zion Malachi Airamis Wade. I suspect you can thank his crazy ex-wife for the um…elaborate…names but anyway, in terms of “thinking it through”, I’d see your point if the first kid was named Mobutu but he’s not. What do you think is going to happen to the kid? Someone’s going to point at him and say – OMG! you’re named after a country, which is called something different now, that had a corrupt ruler! Gasp!” I doubt it.

I don’t think you can separate Mobutu from the name Zaire considering he was the only ruler during the time it was called Zaire. Mobutu was a crook and a monster.

That can’t be a serious post. DWade naming his kid Zaire which, is the former name of an African country (now Dem. Rep. of Congo) and has an informal meaning as well, says something, negative I suppose, about black people in general and is some sort of homage to the former govt/ruler Mobutu? That’s pretty ridiculous.
